    Note: Lots of questions about suspension. For most cars suspension doesn't matter. All these cars however get a slight increase in traction with the lowest suspension option, so that's the best one to go for. However the Sultan RS Classic is actually worse off for doing that because it becomes so bad to handle, so you're better off with one of the higher options. The rest should be lowered as far as possible. More info at broughy.com/gta5carupgrades

I just couldn't keep it together though, I just spun it all the time and threw races because of it. My personal go-to is still the Jester RR just because it feels so stable and planted

    • @ChewieOnTwoWheels
      @ChewieOnTwoWheels 3 года назад +23

      The big mistske I made with the Sultan was to equip the full "competition suspension" which totally ruins the car over bumps. Makes it spun out really easy. Also the car is so light it's terrible in rough bumps and nudges from both police and other racers. It might technically have a faster laptime but it's horrible for pursuit races. The Vectre I like sometimes for slow twisty technical street races. But the absolute king for me is the Calico. Once you set it up to counteract the understeer. And don't try to accelerate whilst still turning. It absolutely smashes everything in acceleration and bump n grinding. Coz it's a bit of a tank. Love it.

    • @dart8827
      @dart8827 3 года назад +2

      If you are braking and steering at the same time and the gta lords forgive you hit a bump, you'll spin out, you cna try improving you racing lines and/or straight braking and that should help you minimize it happening, if you're already doing so, then it just doesn't suit your driving style

      I thought when I drive the sultan I would the street races with randoms would be even easier but the sultan isn't so easy to drive and you have to be extra careful when you hit any bumps. Thats the reason I also went back to using the Jester RR. It just feels really nice in the corners.

    • @CognizantCheddar
      @CognizantCheddar 2 года назад +2

      @@asideaccount393 There's more to it -- the tuner Sultan also needs to be carefully modded to keep the back-end under control. Wheels and the spoiler size matter most.
      Somewhere on Broughy's site there's a doc listing which custom wheels do what to traction balance. That's your starting point. After you figure out the right wheels for the way you drive, you can finish up with the spoiler and body kit options.
      Kitted correctly, the tuner Sultan becomes stable on the back-end, and then i *promise* it will give you the best lap times on all but a couple of the tuner tracks. It just has the best overall mix of acceleration, top speed, and grip.
      It's also ideal for a bunch of the shortcuts on the tracks, btw -- the tuner Sultan isn't as wide as most of the other tuners.
      Vectre's a fine choice. Its very easy to drive. But I'll beat it with the Sultan every time. Even racing clean with no aggressive overtaking, I can't count how many races where I was able to ride a Vectre's bumper at will until it made a mistake. It simply can't pull away from a sultan.

The first time i was racing the Sultan RS Classic, i was having such a hard time trying to break away into the top half of racers, and when i did, it was too late to catch up in the contact races (cause people cant drive, so they just spin you out)...I got to host at some point, set it to non-contact, and was consistently finishing 8 seconds ahead of 2nd place. now im aware thats not always gonna be the case (im most certainly not a great racer in GTA), just happened to be the case that night i was racing it.

    I can't remember exactly, but I think you said at one point that you test all cars with middle-suspension, unless they have the max camber flag that improves their performance when they have the maximum suspension upgrade (Club, Blista Kanjo, Vectre, Previon, etc. for example), in which case you test them with that. I think(?) I also recall all the tuners having said suspension/camber flag, but that doesn't sound right now that I think about it.

    Is it just me or does the calico become a completely different car to drive fully modded vs stock, I was grinding my rep using a stock calico to unlock the trade price and I LOVED driving it.
    Once i bought and upgraded it though it feels like a vastly different car and im not sure I like it. It felt like it had the perfect balance stock but fully upgraded it just feels way to stiff, idk I'd love to hear feedback if anyone else bought and used the car.
    Either way you are my saviour broughy! Returning to the game after buying it on pc once they stopped supporting it on ps3 i binged your videos to get caught up on the fastest cars and was sad to see my turismo is no where near on pace anymore :'(
    Edit: After doing a few more races in different lobbies it feels just like my good ole calico again, I honestly think a modder messed with my car in that lobby because it feels much better now and I'm so glad cuz I spent so much on it! 😂
    Keep up the great work! ❤
