Hi, you can get an education loan without collateral (i.e.via unsecured loan)
But to get an unsecured loan without your parent's income, your university should be ranked among the top 300 globally.
If not, then the parent's income is assessed by banks, making income proof mandatory.
ITR’s are mandatory and act as a proof of co-applicant’s income. However:
1) If your co-applicant is salaried then, you can show Form-16 instead of ITR as proof to banks.
2)If your co-applicant is engaged in agricultural activities as part of their occupation, then an Agriculture Income Certificate is required.
3)In case of self-employed co-applicants ITR’s are must.
