Facts. SNL breaches cornball/cringe-level humor a little too often (especially these days). I actually feel like Debra’s intensity would’ve been stifled by Lorne Michaels in a way that would’ve made her sketches on that show a lot less humorous. Plus she was too “ethnic” for the SNL during her time. It took SNL finally hiring a ‘real’ Black female comedian, Leslie Jones, to change that troubling trend.

I remember my brother and I watching this show as kids. They uplifted our spirits during bad times and their impressions of other celebrities were and are still very astounding.
