The Red Hot Outlaw Volleyball Blockbuster game was sold at Blockbuster for 99 cents or $1.99. They had two or three of that type game with the Outlaw series. I have every game in that series. The first golf game really was fun and had great physics. Good video 🎉
I didn't really notice or know how to articulate it back then, but seeing these games makes me revisit the thought. The early to mid 2000s, particularly in terms of Xbox games, have this comparatively much higher quality graphics compared to the previous gen. It lets you know you have a significant technological advancement but doesn't become too photorealistic. There is still a distinct 'video game" look to these and there is a pattern to the vibrant use of color, they're more saturated and imo, very satisfying to look at. For me this is very noticeable in games with water in them. The water is a deep, but clean looking blue and the green fronds of palm trees immerse me so well!
Wow thank you for the super I really appreciate it! It means a lot. I'm glad you enjoy the channel, I'm happy to relay a sense of nostalgia. Thank you for watching!
wow, I almost forgot about Transworld Snowboarding. Transworld Surf was one of my favorites back then. I had a modded Xbox back then so I played so many obscure 1-off games that I forgot most of them, and your channel brings back memories so thanks. So crazy how I'll see a short clip of a game I forgot, then all these other memories come flooding, from what was going on that day in my periphery from the TV or monitor. Just seeing the Transworld Snowboard clip brought back a memory of a weekend morning where my Dad came downstairs to tell me something.
I love Transworld Snowboarding and I’m crushed that Skateboarding was cancelled. While I played all the Tony Hawk games, they just weren’t realistic as a skater would want them to be.
Yeah, I’m glad you talked more obscure titles no one on RUclips talked about surprisingly. For some reason, I thought there would be a lot more content like the 9Hole for Outlaw Golf than just one court for Outlaw Volleyball Red Hot, but I guess it’s more like a bonus expansion pass in physical form hence its Blockbuster presence. You know, I always kept having that Mandela effect thinking Classified was actually released for PS2, but I guess, I’m thinking something different. The other titles are very obscure, so these are some very interesting ones to pick out.
Amped was definitely a big Xbox snowboarding game, but so was SSX. Those titles were the games that scratched the arcade snowboarding itch. So if anything overshadowed Transworld Snowboarding, it was SSX.
I don`t know, if they count as forgotten, but a few original Xbox exclusives I think are very obscure are Metal Dungeon (a bad dungeon crawler), Close Combat:First to Fight ( team based ego shooter) Shattered Union (turn based strategy), Pirates of the Caribbean (the pirate rpg one) and the 2 Kingdom Under Fire games (mix of Dynasty Warriors and Real Time Strategy and very good games). Also great video. I played the PS2 version of Outlaw Volleyball a lot.
AA gaming peaked in the 6th gen and it’s why that gen is my favorite. Were of all them master classes? Of course not. But they go to exist and there’s still fun to be had. The industry just doesn’t seem to/can’t support that anymore. And it makes me sad
I keep forgetting to go to backlog myself, lol. I could pump up the numbers for a few titles, including New Legends here (which I dislike; I believe I put it on your radar awhile back with a lengthy comment about why I didn't like it, lol). Gonna have to give Transworld Snowboarding a shot - I really miss snowboarding games like back in the early 00's. Nightcaster 2 is one I was aware of but always skeptical of since Microsoft did the first one and _didn't care to do the sequel._ I mean, sometimes IP switches hands because of licenses - Sega doing the first Warhammer 40K Space Marine and Focus doing the second one springs to mind, as does James Bond 007 going from EA to Activision to now I/O Interactive - but it's *super rare* to see it happen to _original IP._ That's when red flags go off, I dunno. So I always figured Nightcaster 2 would be a bit of a miss. Shame though; I mean, how do you screw up a top-down twin-stick action-RPG like that, really? I'm also skeptical of Ninety Nine Nights 2 for the same reason, going from Microsoft and Phantagram for the first one to Konami and FeelPlus for the second. Like, why would Microsoft just abandon that IP, y'know? I'm sure you'll hit it up someday for the Xbox 360 version of this 'Forgotten Exclusives' series though, and we'll find out!
Yeah, I've never tried NNN2, and I am skeptical as well, but it's definitely a good one for a forgotten 360 games list. That's an interesting point: IP switching is definitely not a great sign. I'm just surprised NightCaster got a sequel from anybody.
I went out and bought New Legends after i saw your review and I really enjoyed the game and thought that the combat was ridiculously unique for the time, and as one of the earliest XBOX games to be released I think that its also graphically impressive. The I also really enjoy the Caster games and Blackstone Magic And Steel, the games work best if you treat them like Gauntlet games. That all being said, the OG XBOX is the greatest gaming console of all time, im glad that you are keeping the legacy alive
Hell yeah I'm happy to see so many people share love for such a great console. We might not all like the same games, but there is still so much to enjoy on the Xbox. I'm glad you enjoy those games. I can totally understand having a good time with them!
Man I completely forgot about classified: the sentinel crisis. I got it cheap as a kid and beat it. The only thing I remember was the gun mechanics which I think republic commando might have taken some inspiration from.
I remember in New Legends right when you booted up the game before the title menu you would hear the main guy's father's voice saying something like "you have done it son, you have brought honor to our family..." does anyone else remember that? it showed the main guy like swinging some of the cool weapons you would obtain later in the game. a very interesting foreshadow for what would go down later in the game lol
I really like Transworld Snowboarding and it is so sad it almost never gets brought up when talking about good snowboarding games. Also it is a Finnish game and it makes it more special for me. I would always oick up Transworld Snowboarding over SSX that I have never gotten into because of the controls.
I remember buying a game called death ball or some kind of name like that for og box. I was always a fan of future death sport games, was like a mix of football and basketball. Obscure as hell.
The original night caster I found at a gameplay n played it till he got old I always wanted to play 2 but never got it I saw it had multiplayer too one was so hard tho I died n quit so many times 🚬
Just an idea for your next video: how about the exact opposite of this: xbox exclusives you think about when you think Xbox. I'm thinking games like Alan Wake, Halo, the Forza series or Gears of War.
Thank you for watching! Be sure to check out the other video in this series: Obscure Original Xbox Exclusives: ruclips.net/video/TWV5Shnmkr0/видео.html
Love your content so much. You are knowledgeable and very relatable with your reviews. I felt like I was the only one who loved og xbox until I found your channel. I have about 250 individual titles and plan to collect all none sports titles before I'm done collecting.
@@quentincraig6340 I'm glad you enjoy the channel! I'm happy to share a love for an incredible console! I really like that idea; I'll definitely add it to my list!
I like how the snowboarding game has this subtle polygon wobble on the jackets to show wind resistance, that's a cool detail.
I hope you do more of these, there are more forgotten games out there like Galleon!
They are a lot of fun so I will definitely do that. Galleon is a really cool one.
Definitely Galleon!!

Glad you enjoyed the video. Glad to know it was so cheap. I feel like the Outlaw Golf holiday games were a decent deal at that price.
That's weirdly similar to what got done with the burger king games on the 360
Men idk why everytime I watch your video it gives me huge nostalgia vibes even if I never played any of this game. Thanks and keep on the good work!

Hearing PSO music in this video makes me happy! Phantasy Star Online is one of my favorites and would love to see you cover it in the future!
Glad I’m not the only one to recognize the music. So good. So much dopamine 🙂↕️👌
I love Transworld Snowboarding and I’m crushed that Skateboarding was cancelled. While I played all the Tony Hawk games, they just weren’t realistic as a skater would want them to be.
Love to see you talk about cancelled games to.
I definitely want to talk about that topic soon. There's a ton to look into.

Don't forget SSX ;) Another cool Snowboard Series. Not only Amped. Even Amped was exclusive.
Yeah I was thinking of just exclusives, but yeah SSX is another great snowboarding series from the era.
Not exclusive tho
@@terrystokes7893 yeah i said that before......
I was gonna say its not forgotten but then I thought oh thats SSX Tricky. Everyone knows Tricky but it does seem the OG SSX game gets forgotten a lot.
Amped was definitely a big Xbox snowboarding game, but so was SSX. Those titles were the games that scratched the arcade snowboarding itch. So if anything overshadowed Transworld Snowboarding, it was SSX.

I don’t know if I’ve said this before, but I appreciate your videos. Brings me some cozy nostalgia.
Happy to deliver some cozy nostalgia! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I had just picked up Transworld Snowboarding during my last retro shop trip. $7 well spent!
$7 is great for how much fun that game delivers on!
I think I'll check out Sentintel. Looks fun. Great video as always!
Glad you enjoyed it! You'll have to tell me if you enjoyed it when you play it.

Definitely good choices. I feel like Metal Dungeon is 100% super obscure. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Transworld was my favorite game and the soundtrack is soo good!
Ha my wife and I used to play a ton of Transworld Snowboarding in high school
Wish I had a story like that...

I recently got a couple outlaw volleyball games for xbox, even the redhot one. Never knew the regular outlaw volleyball wasnt an xbox exclusive
It's something I learned about recently. I guess the PS2 got Outlaw Volleyball Remix.

Will we ever see Metal Arms: Glitch in the System on this channel?
One of my favorite xbox games of all time. ^ great suggestion
I find metal arms just plain ol good.
Oh you definitely will! That one is a classic.
Would love to see a video about a collection of original Xbox ‘tude/slapstick/T-rated games like Whacked, Mad Dash Racing, Cel Damage, etc.
Great idea! I'll add it to the list!
New legends was one of my favorite games for the og Xbox such an interesting story and i thought the gameplay was fun

Pretty sure that New Legends clip unlocked core memories
Pls do a video on Hunter the Reckoning me and my two brothers got the original Xbox for that game then found halo after

I loved new legends as a kid. I played it nonstop.
Always happy to hear someone who enjoyed one of these games!
@ Thanks man keep up the great videos. I still have my original copy.
If I hear music from Phantasy Star Online I immediately hit the like button
You should check out more snowboarding games! Especially if you were a Tony Hawk kid!
You are 100% right. I need to make a video on snowboarding games too
Just an idea for your next video: how about the exact opposite of this: xbox exclusives you think about when you think Xbox. I'm thinking games like Alan Wake, Halo, the Forza series or Gears of War.
Great idea! Kind of like Xbox essentials!
The amount of ads has dramatically increased from even a few weeks ago.
