In this video I take our brand new T800 Kenworth to Adam's Refinishing to get painted and I pick my new W900L from the paint shop back to the dealership.
Wow Mike I didn’t see this part of the video only the first part when you where driving the automatic Kenworth this is your truck fantastic good luck Mike she’s a beauty
You’ll have it looking mint!…you know what’s hot for northeast trucks!…I like the black on the tanks…think the painter shat the bed on the hood a little…should of rolled the white over more…you can see a body line in the red on the side of the hood…just my observation, maybe once it’s done up with the pin stripes it’ll look proper….I know your thinking the same thing!…great video!
When my old company Central Penn Transportation bought a bunch of brand new KW's back in 2,000 they were brand new Anteaters, daycabs with CB's and Cummins engines and 10 speeds. I think we got 15. Fully loaded. Still have a few rumbling around with over a million miles on them. Yes! They came with the smart wheel at the time! Nice looking, riding comfortably.
Absolutely gorgeous new trucks ….personally I would not change the bumpers or the stacks ….no stupid buckets to keep rain out ….cant wait to see it finished and on the road ….i know you’ll keep it gleaming clean because that’s who you are ….keep up the great work and enjoy those new rides !!!! 💪☝️👊
The first time I sat in an extended cab, I didn’t think the seat went back too much further either, but I have a lot more room at the clutch with getting my big hoof to push the pedal. It definitely goes back further. It just doesn’t seem like much. Grateful for mine and miss it when I’m in a regular cab
T800 looks really good and clean. The added touches paint will make the truck pop out lot more. Get rid of the pockets behind the seat be nice then you have a nice leg room in their.. Man, the W9 looks sharp with a fresh coat of paint to look like to company design. Fuel tanks looks is very different but matches the look. What engine is under the hood? All its missing is your metal fenders and trailer and maybe a flat top sleep 28-36in sleeper. Don't forget to get a light along the breather tanks.
@@TheBostonTrucker Lot of power to do the job that is needed. Is the gear ratio the same as the Other W9 you have now? The sound of the X15 Cummins is the same where I drive for the international automatic. As for the def system and muffle and clamps and flex pipe. Just keep an eye on it over time as it being used, and def system are not cheap if anything goes wrong...
I got to be honest with you mike i think the black end on the tanks look great also the flat glass just does it for me it looks mint i trust your plans and cant wait to see it finished you must have been over the moon driving it for the first time i originally didnt like the idea of the angled back stacks but seeing them now they look good because their still high i would just want to run that dummy pipe and make them true duals thats probably the only thing i would change im so excited for you buddy cant wait to see the finished product
Without the visor on the w900 it has a look kinda like the old p.i.e. Trucks. Kinda cool change your square fender lights out for some round lollipops haha
I love the tanks how they came out. I love polish tanks but they are a workout to keep them bright. Been painted is the way to go. Can't wait to see your vision of the truck finished
That W9 is one beautiful truck! The 800 is sharp too. Brand new is always great feeling in any vehicle. Like the extended cab. I drove a Frieghtshaker with a " daybed'" once for a week as a loaner. It didn't have a bunk, although some drivers were using them as local delivery sleepers by putting a cot mattress on the floor and napping during pickups and deliveries. The extra room was good for straps and tools. Your's will be completely different when you're done with it. Congratulations to all of you!
I just went from a '15 ICON W900 glider with 286" WB to a '24 W900 with a 300" WB. Curved widshelid to a split. Sleepers are pretty much identical 84" Studios. I tell everyone the trucks are pretty much the same, but driving them is very different. I feel ya.
The truck is awesome, can”t wait to see the end result. I’ve never had a new truck to work in, enjoy, you deserve it! Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
Looks good. I personally would rather polished tanks. But no ones opinion really matters as long as the owner and you are happy with it. That's all that matters. Best of luck with it.
Hi Mike, beautiful truck. Personally I'm not a fan of the white buttons and painted tanks. I'm a bling guy, but that's just my opinion and you and the boss are the ones that matter. I wish you many years of happiness with it. I would love to meet you someday.
. Mike it's going to be finished soon and your going to be happy and I am sure that you will be trying to keep it sparkling and you are what every company needs to succeed especially with work ethics
If you look at the front of your new W900, the way the stacks are pointing back and the flat glass with no visor it almost looks like Bandit’s W900. I know the colors are different, that truck was a flat glass and had a very very small visor on it. Needs the round headlights! Looks awesome man!

Just when you were reversing in the automatic when you went to shift to drive instead you went to shift . Made me laugh bc it shows how much we love to drive. It’s repetitive after years.
I don't know if someone has mentioned it yet but the Allison transmission is a torque converter transmission unlike the Eaton which is an automated manual. they are good transmissions for bombing around town, but are not super great for long distance highway running.
Maybe when you get your new W900 done you put it next to your old one and compare. But there both beautiful trucks. Can't wait to see the new one done..I'm excited for you Mike..
The truck is a real beauty Mike. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to seeing it finished out. I would have liked the painter to have brought the white down to the lower end of the radius on the hood sides so we'd see a little more white but I'm keeping an open mind until I see it finished out.
I went from driving a 2002 W9 to a new 389 Pete back in 2016. Biggest adjustment was the sound difference(or lack of sound!). I heard the W9 was being discontinued after 2025. Did not know the T800 was also coming to an end. Had you heard why they are discontinuing both models? Sad to see them go. Hope you enjoy your new truck! It's coming along nicely
NO offence intended but I prefer the down under Australian built Kenworth Conventional hood & Cabover also. Your new truck looks nice & has all the bells & whistles you love it !
😂 that’s funny I used to a DM 800 tandem dump 300 Mack engine instead of a Jacob’s engine brake it had the Mack Dynatard engine brake Mike that thing would move you about 3 inches forward especially unloaded

Truck looks great Mike! I think we’re all just as excited as you are to see it completed. My only advice would be to turn the stacks out just a little bit..not completely to the side but about halfway. Either way love the show and congratulations on the new rig!
Cool truck! Was totally on board with the painted ends on the tank. I think it's the perfect accent to the black fenders. I think the paint looks great except for one thing.
