Surface RT Win8.1 64GB - Tablet was working perfectly then woke up one day to it being off.
Upon pressing the power button the SURFACE logo comes on for exactly 5 seconds then screen goes black and the tablet is powered off.
I have already tried the POWER + VOLUME DOWN methods without success...tablet still powers on for 5 seconds then shuts off.
I attempted it exactly 70 times but it still would not go pass the 5 second "SURFACE" screen. Any thoughts?

I have loss my wfi on my RT, the controller is there but it can't turn on says there is errors I have try everything any suggestions as to what to do

I have a surface rt 32gb that only shows surface logo but won't boot with usb just stays on surface logo if the battery have issues the tablet won't do nothing just the logo

Are you saying that if you have any sort of issues with your battery on your Surface RT that it wont respond to anything and will just stay on surface logo?

My apology, I just purchased a Surface RT that is stuck on surface logo, and completely unresponsive to anything i attempt besides creating the wrong recovery flash drive after 8 hours straight of research and exhaustion. It did finally pop up a windows question option for recovery but i believe failed yet again die to creating a Windows 10 recovery instead of windows 8.1... Grrr... this is so frustrating
So this is where i am at now after 16 hrs of research. I read that the flash drive must be formatted to FAT32 in order for it to be successful. Okay got it. NOW I NEED THE LINK TO SUCCESSFULLY DOWNLOAD THE RECOVERY DRIVE.. Every link i find just loops right back around to the beginning of my search results accomplishing nothing. And I really blowing smoke up my own $#@ thinking this is even possible????

well this is all well and good ,however these instructions are so old they do not work anymore , you do a wonderful job with the video ,how ever following your instruction to the web page now offers nothing like you have shown , what would have been good is if you wrote all the links in the description , when i enlarge the picture to see the web address,s you speak of you cant see them because of the poo tube video description covering the information .
if i could find an ISO image some where of both parts ready to burn to usb this would have made it better.

thanks sir....but i have a slightly different problem i have surface rt....i wanna reset it ....i mean remove all files and whatever it has....but my surface rt says insert windows installation or recovery media....
please help i don't have much days....just 2days😞

I put a normal Windows and it works only that the drivers are not compatible and I can not find them and I can not download the operating system that should be Windows 8 RT could you help me I would appreciate it

Pureinfotech how do you download chrome on Surface RT? I tried downloading it but then it said it can't run chrome.

you can't, they don't make a RT version. everything you need has to be able to work with RT which is NOT a regular windows operating system.
