The moment when that bass line kicks in... you know... the one where the buzz gets all the way under your skin and rattles you down to the core of your bones... the one that nearly hurts because it throbs so deeply. That has to be THE richest, most rewarding moment I've ever experienced at a live musical performance. It was absolute magic. Being intimately familiar with the song and having never heard it performed live before, it was pure joy. Euphoria.
Excellent pic, you lucky lucky dawg!! Yaz came to my city and I was very excited when I found out. But, one of my best friends who also loved Yaz introduced me to their music in 1982 and has since passed-away. I know, had I gone to see Yaz, the flood of emotions would have been too strong and overwhelming for me to endure. But I absolutely LOVE their music. I appreciate your comment. -Steve
it has been 11+ years ago since this little amazing tour. And the last minute of this video reminds me of the ecstasy of everyone in the audience. you can hear it in the squeals of the crowd. warms my heart still.
whatever the professional/personal differences between Alison and Vince, they both should know that, together, they struck musical cords with millions of people who love the work they did together... upstairs at Eric's is a timeless masterpiece of voice, lyrics and music.
I saw them perform on this tour in Oakland, and this was the ONE song where they deviated from the sound of the studio recordings with a synth line that just blew the doors off the theater. It wasn't the album version. It was raved up completely. I was so disappointed that this didn't feature on the version that appeared on the live album. I really wish they'd put that version out in some form or another.
Bless your heart! My experience got even better. I made the crazy decision to head to Orange County from Miami for their final show. After the gig, a nice guy called Pepe and I searched for her and found her having drinks with her crew at her hotel near the Pacific Coast Highway. I took the picture of a lifetime and went to heaven. My page here has it posted.
I live I Manhattan now on the upper east side of Madison square part Ave in a 20,000 square foot apartment in the most desire skyline on Earth and my home in London England in West Kensington waking distance from Kensington Palace where Diana lived after her divorce from Charles , she loved Allison as well and Vince ! In London Allison and Vince and Andy are big deals !! And in the USA not much ?? But being from a family with a HRS title I've been able to meet Allison , several times since 1983 ! Believe it or not she sang this song for Diana are myself in 1993 , as a guest in.scotland at Balmoral castle ! when I was 14 years old ! A lovely woman !! As well ,She did a benift concert in so ho London in 1985 !! And it Broughton in a great deal of money for the east end of London at The time that was struggling economically.

Still here in 2020! Yazoo in Sardinia with my aunt Vittoria in 1983. RIP.

Me too. Reconnected came nowhere near me and I would buy a DVD if there was one.
I still find it extremely frustrating that they they didn't record footage for a DVD, this was such a unique tour.
