I cry every time, but it's so important to hear Ronan's story. We need to remember him and other children gone too soon, to honor their memory and to raise awareness about pediatric cancer, to eventually find more effective treatments.
This is the kind of song that lets you know you're human. On a good note 2 years later a baby girl was born to them, her name is Poppy Ronan Thompson. All the money goes to childhood cancer research and Mya Thompson is listed as a co-writer since Taylor used Mya's blog to write the song.
it's impossible not to cry
I cry every time I hear this song, it’s so important to spread awareness around this subject and I’m glad Taylor wrote a song so Ronan is able to touch all our lives and lives through all of us.
This song gets to all of us, I think. Even after having seen it several times. It's one of the rare songs of Taylor's that I have a hard time coming back to, b/c it hits so hard.
It doesn't matter how many times I listen to this song (which is not many because it hurts too much) I still end up crying my eyes out.
If this song doesn’t tear you heart out then I don’t know.. It’s a painful song to listen to but it’s a stunning piece of artistry and empathy..
I think there is not one person whos not deeply emotionally heartbroken from this song. It is however a song i try to stream every now and then because the proceeds always go to ronan and childhood cancer.
On a brighter note Taylor and the family are still in touch and they eventually got another child who’s middle name is ronan.

Taylor herself has said that she's not a vocalist. She is a story teller who sings her stories. There are plenty of other artists to go listen to if you want to hear exciting vocal technique.
