After 11K kilometer with the Rally in Central Europe, I so far never had an issue with the bike. It is the touring machine with the highest price in Europe but you get what you pay for. Top notch parts where ever you look. In very thight corners on alpine passes, the bike has excellent low speed manuverability. High speed on German Autobahn also is no problem at all. Same applies for gravel roads. I am not doing the rough stuff with it. Good job Ducati.
Beautiful machine, who wouldnt want one? best bike though?you have to take cost into that decision,24k is alot.and it ought to be good for that price! if i could justify having one,i would though.
As an owner of a 2024 Multistrada V4 Rally I would warn anyone against thinking of the as "Best bike". The chassis is great (really great). The engine is nice for agressive driving - not so for more relasex driving (as in adventure touring). After 1600km the engine sounds as if someone has poured gravel into it. It was ok from the beginning but has suffered from increasing noise from valves and/or timing chains. The Desmo Ducatis have always been noisy but the V4 has no desmo valves. You need earplugs when you drive this one. At 3500 rpm, the noise is so bad that you find yourself prepared to push the clutch in case of a seizure… Below 3000 rpm, the bike is practically un-driveable. Don’t bother to drive in slow traffic - even if you can bear the enormous amount of heat emitted from the engine. The quickshifter, that was supposed to be really smooth on these bikes, is really a hit and miss. It’s great when it works, but it rarely does. When the engine is warming up, it works ok. When warm…not so much. Less than 50% hit rate. But when it does work, it’s really smooth - at least the up-shifts. When it doesn’t, and you never know beforehand, the gears will bang in, leaving you wondering how much abuse the gearbox can take. The dealerships (at least in Sweden) leaves a lot to wish for. Any problem I had, the response was that "a Ducati should be like that". The service person in my case, seemed to believe that the V4s have desmo valves and blamed the noise on that. That doesn’t give you much confidense. I got zero help with any problem with the bike. Clearly the warranty isn’t worth anything. But they charge crazy amounts for mainrenance (400 Euro for 1000 km oil change). Eventually I contacted Ducati support, as I got nowhere with the dealership. However, they showed little interest as well. This is the most expensive bike I have bought, but unfortunately also the worst bike experience. Don’t make the misrake I made, believing that this is a GSA-competitive. This is nowhere near the BMW experience. It has a better chassis than the Bmw, and is really fun on twisty roads. It’s also better offroad. But that’s it. The Bmw’s engine is light years ahead in the adventure bike context. Bmw’s customer service isn’t always the best, but compared to Ducati’s, it’s golden.
Always good to hear both sides of ownerships. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I had a shit experience with a brand new KTM GT. Like you, the most expensive bike I ever bought. And the biggest headache. After 6 months of it being broken I eventually got it sent back and got my money back. Ruined my ownership of anything KTM going forward. Are you keeping the multi or will you be moving to something else? Maybe the new BMW GSA 1300. ? 🤙🤙
@@DSR1YT Yeah. It’s a pity when it happens. But a lot of people are happy with these bikes so the manufacturers would gain a lot by taking care of their "lemons". I had a Ktm 1290SA and I can feel your experience with the Ktm. I liked the bike actually, and had a lot of fun with it. But like the Multistrada, it didn’t breath confidence. I sold it after a year. The 1250Gsa was by no means perfect quality wise, but still a very nice bike. Strange enough, the bike I have had, with the best quality record, was a Hinckley Triumph, an ST 955i.
I am also an owner of the V4 Rally and did 5000km in September through Norway. I can not confirm any of your remarks. Something must be wrong with your bike. For me it is the best bike I ever owned.
Yes the best. I have one I bought 3 months ago and even like it more than my Pikes Peak V4. The front end feel is better. Both very brutal engines. Ducati the best
30k EURs motorcycle, I just wonder if this companies ( Audi ) are being beaten by the Chinese cars are trying to compensate with Bikes the money they lose on cars, anyway, the Chinese Bikes are coming also, is only a matter of time until they take over, thanks for the video.
@@DSR1YT Don't worry, in a very near future, CFMoto, Voge, Kove and many more will completely over take the market, the funny thing is that is exactly the exorbitant prices of BMW, Triumph and Ducati that are opening the doors wide open for them.
I have the Multi V4S and touring around Europe at legal limits 50mpg, spirited touring mid 40s mpg and if you ride like you are Marc Marquez into the 30s mpg.
Luckily your question/comment has been answered below. From a test ride I wouldn’t get a real sense of real world fuel consumption. On a bike I own I could certainly do this, and have, I’ve done a 2 part video on my GSA where I ride the bike to empty and the thing cuts out on me. Without doing a test like that on the multi I would just be reading some numbers off to you from what the bikes computer says to me 😁🤙. That’s the only reason I don’t say about mpg on my reviews 🤙
It's the donkeys that you need to fear 😂 I know from personal history after I was kidnapped by one of them 😉😂. Lovely bike the multi I would deffo have one over a GS but will need a lotto win or a post office job 😂😂
@@richardentwistle918 If you have owned a GS, I am not so sure you would be happy with the Multistrada. I was in the same situation and eventually spent the money on a V4 Rally. I have never regretted anything more than that. I am the donkey…
