Just to know the game enough to even know about these clips and to gather them is a good job. Trying to think if you missed anything. Hale Irwin 1990 US Open final green in regulation. Greg Norman's chip in victory at Doral in 1990. Sandy Lyle 88 Masters Bunker shot on 18. You can go on and on, but Tiger alone is a highlight film.

I had the privilege to caddy for a wounded warrior during an event in Texas. Tom Watson was the guest. The entire day we talked about that chip shot at Pebble to win the US Open. On 15 my player had a chip shot and Tom Watson happen to come up and he stood right next to us while he was hitting it. Just before he hit it, I said "hit it close" the same words that Bruce Edwards said to Watson before that shot. Watson turned to me and had the biggest smile on his face I have ever seen any one person have. To this day, it is still one of my favorite golf moments in my life.

You know what I love about these moments? How some of the become iconic pieces of commentary. They have no idea what's about to happen, but they call it to perfection to idolize the moment forever. "That's better than most.. better than most".
Golf commentary is often the best in professional sports because of this.
Kartik Mathur golf has a disproportionate number of the best announcer calls in sports history. The sport lends itself to stuff like that
@@TheLocalLt yeah man, you're right. I think part of the beauty of the game is that because it's "slower" than most spots, you can see the magic happening and it dawns on you while it's happening and not once it's happened. I've been playing only 8-9 months and I'm hooked.

Didn't pick up a golf club once in my life until I was 35. Feel like I missed out on a lot of good golf years but going to make the most of the years ive got left. Truly the greatest sport I have ever played.
What makes it great is that on any given shot an amateur can pull off a shot like a pro and on any given shot a pro can pull off a shot like an amateur.

I've seen this 4 times since my 11 week shielding and lock down from the virus began and it hasn't failed to make me cry yet. What a magnificent game, the fact the crowds wholeheartedly want whomever has the put for the win to make it, shows how golf embodies all that is good about mankind and thats a message we need more than ever in these difficult and trying times. Simply Glorious.

I was watching these and thinking "yeah the good old days" and that shots like these will never happen again. Then Tiger's 2019 masters comes on and I remember golf will live forever like this.
Each of us all have our own moments on the course as well, that day you were the very best you could be, and it all happened just the way you dreamed.

Thank you for putting AP's motif on Golf at the end....such a frustrating sport to play. Played by many, mastered by so few. But when you hit that 1 good shot the feeling is extraordinary.
I've only recently started playing golf in the last few years. I'm an older woman and I've followed the game for years. As bad as I am at it I absolutely love it. Now I won't be able to let it go! I so enjoyed this video and the way you put it together. The clips, editing, descriptive info with the identifying time stamp and the MUSIC......the background music was a fantastic choice. I was in tears several times. But for me (what really got me) was seeing Payne Stewart. Loved seeing him in a triumphant win; but knowing what happened and the tragedy that took him away from this world brought more than a few tears to my eyes. Having said all that I still appreciate this beautiful video.

i watch this before every tournament i play, i’m only in high school but it motivates me so much
I get chills every time I watch this video. Was never a fan of Tiger Woods real-time. It's hard to argue that he is not the best to ever do it when confronted with the sheer volume of legendary shots he made in situations of the highest pressure. All my heroes are tarnished and tested it seems. Tiger is on that list, now.
Evan -- Tiger is the greatest golfer of my generation, hands down. But the best ever -- the GOAT -- was and still is Jack. 18 majors, 16 runner-ups in majors, and against insane competition (Palmer, Player, Miller, Watson, Irwin, Weiskopf, Trevino, the list goes on.) Think about this: At age 46, Jack passed Watson, Kite, Norman and Ballesteros to win the Masters. He shot a 65, 30 on the back nine. The single greatest golf round in any major when you consider the circumstances. And Jack is pure class.

@@TheSTLBrown Jack Nicklaus in the 86 Masters basically from 9 in ran the tables. Birdies 9, 10 and 11. Bogies 12. Birdies 13, 16,17 and eagles 15. In my opinion Tiger Woods was better than Nicklaus and Ben Hogan hit the ball better than both of them.

Its insane how much I truly love golf. I'll remember the first day I ever got my clubs leaning against the van after my dad told me he had a surprise for me. Went straight to the course. He said a gentleman said I had a nice swing for my age and asked how long I'd been playing. My dad said it was my first time out. Good memory I have that I'll never forget. I know I'll never be on any tour, but that will never stop me from trying to the best I can be at this great sport.

This represents a lot of how i got into golf. Got into it after 15 Masters, first major i watched was the 2015 U.S. Open, and have loved it ever since.
