It's September now. I remember coming home from school and my dad told me the news. He didn't tell me how but I was so heartbroken because he was my favorite artist at the time.
The fact that a lot of people my age got introduced to Linkin Park when we were children and still listen to them to this day speaks volumes. It's gonna be hard listening to his voice now knowing he's gone

I remember when I heard the song Crawling on the radio for the first time and I was hooked. Linkin Park was my favorite from that moment on and I still listen to many of his songs daily. I was crushed when he passed but his music still gets me through some tough times. Especially the live version of Crawling/ one last light and it still brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it but it gets me through when I'm feeling like my own walls are closing in and I struggle to find myself again. I don't think I'll ever stop listening to his music, just wish he would've stayed with us and made more music

Right on. linkin park's lyrics since hybrid theory has always been on the angsty/depressing side. It's only recently that their 'sound' became lighter. Looking back and re-listening to Hybrid theory and Meteora again, it's actually pretty fucking sad now... rest well indeed.

I wonder if he saw that coming, that his life would end soon and therefore he wanted to make a last and completely different album as his final work which makes it even harder to handle the criticism for it. This is what I like to call "My Depression Song". When it hits really hard, when I struggle to keep pulling myself together - it's always there for me. I push myself to the limit, let all the emotions flow with a stream of tears and then I feel a little better. So, from this point, I'd like to say thank you. Thank you for helping me deal with all the things I'm not strong enough to bear. Not only with this song - mostly though - but with many of them. Pieces of art that you have to feel yourself to appreciate.

I literally have memories and "feels" to every song. Not as many to their 2010 album, my life was chaos during that time and was just trying to hold it together. (I made it!) Ive been to quite a few of their concerts, been to meet & greets. I'm still in shock. His band mates, I just want to hug them and his family. I'm sure he is at peace now but his friends and family, my heart breaks for them.

This song was so important to me in many situations when my father passed of cancer when I was eight years old. I needed something to hold to as I grieved. Their music has helped me through a lot of really difficult emotions, and while it still hurts to listen to these songs, I usually come out on the other side a little stronger. Linkin Park has helped through my dark times during my middle and high school days. I thank them for that. I broke down crying during my lunch break after reading that Chester has passed. He will forever be with me. He helped us all but we couldn't help him. Him and Chris are rocking up in paradise.
Not sure how this helps. It's about suicide. I am 40, never been in a single relationship, live in a college town, so mostly I have little to no social interactions. I pretty much work from home, and feel isolated. I am religious unlike most, otherwise I would have killed myself a long time ago.

I'm currently trying TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) the side effects are minimal and you don't have to take drugs. Please talk to your doctor about your options and don't give up.
Brian Casteel Majority of the time depression isn't a Temporary mental illness....and it can also manifest itself physically. People who commit suicide often have been dealing with mental illness for longer than we know...and we can't know how deep their suffering may be.

I lost my dad at the age of five, and that's when my Uncle stepped in. We bonded over music and coming from a religious family is frowned upon to like bands like Linkin Park. But they were the first band I ever heard, and became my favorite band. My Uncle and I bonded over music and when I informed him my favorite band was Linkin Park we'd always listen to them together and he talked about taking me to a show one day. Sadly my Uncle passed away.. this song and many others helped me cope with it. And I continued loving them. It's so sad that Chester is gone and I can only imagine the pain he must have been feeling. But your voice and your band helped people Chester and I hope you have found peace. Rest Easy. You will be missed.

Cruel and inhumane...yes I am in terminal cancer pain with no narcotic pain killers thanks to good ole DEA/CDC..but hospice is awaiting my oncologist to arrive on Aug 7th so he can take them from Hospice home health to pallative to release their doc to give unlimited to make me at least somewhat comfortable! Sorry I could go on and on about our fucked up government...but yes I am alone..the good thing is my ex and I, he is love of my life we have been talking and friends a while he on work realease, my bro in prison but we are close and few friends but they live a distant away..but I'm thankful for what I have..thank you so much

I remember when I heard the song Crawling on the radio for the first time and I was hooked. Linkin Park was my favorite from that moment on and I still listen to many of his songs daily. I was crushed when he passed but his music still gets me through some tough times. Especially the live version of Crawling/ one last light and it still brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it but it gets me through when I'm feeling like my own walls are closing in and I struggle to find myself again. I don't think I'll ever stop listening to his music, just wish he would've stayed with us and made more music

Right on. linkin park's lyrics since hybrid theory has always been on the angsty/depressing side. It's only recently that their 'sound' became lighter. Looking back and re-listening to Hybrid theory and Meteora again, it's actually pretty fucking sad now... rest well indeed.

I literally have memories and "feels" to every song. Not as many to their 2010 album, my life was chaos during that time and was just trying to hold it together. (I made it!) Ive been to quite a few of their concerts, been to meet & greets. I'm still in shock. His band mates, I just want to hug them and his family. I'm sure he is at peace now but his friends and family, my heart breaks for them.

This song was so important to me in many situations when my father passed of cancer when I was eight years old. I needed something to hold to as I grieved. I know this comment will stay hidden under all of the other ones, but Linkin Park, if you see this please just know i'm so thankful for this song. It sounds so similar to 'With or Without You' by U2, a song played on my fathers funeral and thats why I became so attached. This song was a shoulder for me to cry on when there wasnt a physical one. Linkin Park has helped through my dark times during my middle and high school days. I thank them for that. I broke down crying during my lunch break after reading that Chester has passed. He will forever be with me. He helped us all but we couldn't help him. Him and Chris are rocking up in paradise.
Not sure how this helps. It's about suicide. I am 40, never been in a single relationship, live in a college town, so mostly I have little to no social interactions. I pretty much work from home, and feel isolated. I am religious unlike most, otherwise I would have killed myself a long time ago.

I'm currently trying TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) the side effects are minimal and you don't have to take drugs. Please talk to your doctor about your options and don't give up.

I lost my dad at the age of five, and that's when my Uncle stepped in. We bonded over music and coming from a religious family is frowned upon to like bands like Linkin Park. But they were the first band I ever heard, and became my favorite band. My Uncle and I bonded over music and when I informed him my favorite band was Linkin Park we'd always listen to them together and he talked about taking me to a show one day. Sadly my Uncle passed away.. this song and many others helped me cope with it. And I continued loving them. It's so sad that Chester is gone and I can only imagine the pain he must have been feeling. But your voice and your band helped people Chester and I hope you have found peace. Rest Easy. You will be missed.

I appreciate it because the only people I have is my kids and yesterday I found out the one at home has to start school Monday, High School..have to get haircut, supplies, clothes etc ...the only thing help is marijuanna, never smoked it but when they took my opiates 2 years ago! Cruel and inhumane...yes I am in terminal cancer pain with no narcotic pain killers thanks to good ole DEA/CDC..but hospice is awaiting my oncologist to arrive on Aug 7th so he can take them from Hospice home health to pallative to release their doc to give unlimited to make me at least somewhat comfortable! Sorry I could go on and on about our fucked up government...but yes I am alone..the good thing is my ex and I, he is love of my life we have been talking and friends a while he on work realease, my bro in prison but we are close and few friends but they live a distant away..but I'm thankful for what I have..thank you so much
I want to send you a hug too, Susan, I kinda know what fight cancer looks like, my sister had it, unhappily she didn't win it, but she lived so HARD until the end, leaving his son :')

Yeah man, this whole album is incredible, a couple of years after it released. I listened to it again on a whim and fell in love with it. This song and Hands Held High are two that really strike a chord with me, I think it's actually their best work
