Honestly I think the summery mermaid hair is HOT on you. And the best curly-girl method hair tip I have is keep going! Your hair gets more and more used to the shape over time and it’ll look better.
I'm loving the wild mane today 😍🦁
My first thought as the video started was “omg she looks like a cross between a renaissance angel and a mermaid,” I love the wavy hair on you!
I know everyone’s hair is different, but I have wavy hair and the Treluxe serum and gel in combination with each other give me like… *perfect* definition. It’s a less well-known brand so I’ve been recommending them to everyone!!
i'm not even a minute in yet but my first thought before you mentioned anything about your hair was that it made you look like a mermaid so gonna have to hard disagree on the "not ideal" comment
🥺🥺❤️
What about the Flower Day Glow balm in Stunner?? That’s one of my absolute favorites…..
I'm actually obsessed with your hair in this video!
It takes a while with the curly girl method. I am a year in and now have defined curls. It is not an easy fix but is definitely worth it. Love the videos... all the way from Wales x
Your hair is to die for, you look like a mermaid💛
Still waiting for the lip tint comparison video you mentioned on the poll in community 😝❤️
On the way!!! It’s been a struggle with swatches because I don’t want to muddle the lip stains in my lip swatches so I’ve only been able to do one or two swatches for the video each day 🥲🥲
@@AmandaZ i completely understand! Looking forward to it! ❤️
Amanda! I love this hair on you. It compliments your hair color and eyebrows really well :)
Love it when you do product recommendations for specific makeup categories ! Your recommendations are always soooo good girl. Keep it up !
First thing I thought when opened a video is how lovely your hair looks and makeup is amazing, so please be kinder to yourself you are beautiful just the way you are!
I couldn't hang with the true curly girl method because my hair gets oily/product buildup too easily, but the styling techniques really helped me get the hang of my curls. Your wavy curl pattern gives massive siren/mermaid vibes and I look forward to how it looks once you get more used to styling it. There are curly hair creators on youtube that have a lot of great tips; helped me a lot.
I was literally going to ask for a hair tutorial! It’s looks amazing!
I really appreciate how you compare a vast variety of makeup categories in depth. This is insanely helpful!!
LOVED this video, Amanda! I concur with so many of these! I'm especially blown away by the elf highlighter. Soooooooo natural. xo
Honestly I thought you were going for a mermaid vibe, their curls are never perfect, it's beautiful loose waves and I absolutely love it! Goes with the current trend of mermaid makeup going around. You should do one 😍 I always thought you looked like a mermaid. ❤️
I think your hair looks absolutely amazing! It was the first thing I noticed along with your glowing beauty and expert advice 🥰
Have you ever tried the Lumi Glotion? It’s older but it’s been my ride or die for years. You can put it all over and step right out the door. It’s excellent. I’ve been seeing it a bit on tiktok since there has been an abundance of old products making a return
I love this one too! No fragrance either
@@pinkpeachz my face is lighter than my body due to sunscreen, and when I use Medium Glow it’s the perfect match. My face is radiant and people always comment on how nice my skin looks
don't give up on the curly girl method!! your hair will get used to it and so will you with the techniques, in time it def gets easier and looks better!
Thank you I def am going to keep trying !!!
Love the hair! and thanks for that video. I've been using powder highlighters as eyeshadows lately but they make my lids a little dry and I am going to try cream highlighters instead
I love your taste in makeup, you and I have a lot of the same stuff.
Love your. hair! Very glamorous.
Wow in the the b roll of you applying CT spotlight you looked so gorgeous!
I honestly like your hair.!!
well done! really helpful video, i will be coming back to this more than once for sure, as i do with SO MANY of your videos. thank you!!
I LOVE your hair! ❤️➰️ I have wavy/curly hair too. Don't give up! It will start to cooperate the more your hair heals. I don't follow the curly girl method strictly anymore, but I do think it helped my hair a lot when it was damaged
I kept seeing ads on insta for the merit restock and then seeing you talk about how glad you were to pick up the lipstick was too much lol. I finally caved and bought a few of their products 🤦🏻♀️ I’m looking forward to finally trying them out ~~
I would love to try the ritual de fille highlighters but they unfortunately use lavender oil (I’m allergic), and even if not, I’m reluctant to buy anything that lacks preservatives as I don’t want my makeup to go bad before I can use it.
LIVING for these videos!!!
Just fyi, Chanel has multiple shades of their stick highlight, and WA has a deeper, more bronze-toned highlighter also.
A perfect dupe for the CT Beauty Light Wand is the KIKO dolce diva glam cushion highlighter! I cannot tell the difference between the two in look & weartime and the KIKO is more pale-friendly in terms of shade (the CT looks a bit dark on my pale skin). Definitely worth a try.
I actually clicked on the video because your hair looked so good 🥰
Two cream highlighters that I enjoy are the Maybelline Master Strobing Stick in Nude Glow and the MAC Face Base in Hush.
I love my merit highlight balm and the new flowers beauty wand is so cute
waiting for best cream & powder bronzer’s 💕 love your recommendations 😇
Your hair looks gorgeous
I went to great lengths to get my hands on the Merit highlighter (and a Merit lipstick among other things I can't get my hands on in Europe).
I remembered a friend of my husband was traveling to Vegas for 4 days only and while he was in Vegas I did a same day delivery order and because he only brought a backpack with him I forgot you have to put your stuff in clear bags to go through TSA so I re did a same day delivery with some clear pouches from Sephora lmao I owe this guy some baked goods
This is me right now 😭 I can’t figure out how to get it in Europe
Your eyeshadow in the Beauty Pie portion is gorgeous! What is it?
chanel vs merit vs westman - which one has the least visible pearl/shimmer? loved the haloscope for having zero visible shimmer, but it’s just too sticky.
I think your best bet would be the Chanel! It’s not sticky and has no glitter
Absolutely, it’s Chanel!
Curly hair tips! Resist the urge to take in too many "tips" and keep it to one variable change at a time so you can figure out what's working. And stay patient - I don't know anyone that mastered blow drying in one attempt, and styling curly is still a styling skill that needs practice 👍
this is what I call timing! I'm a make-up artist and I'm just looking for a new cream/liquid highlighter to add to my kit 🙌 I love your approach to makeup so I'll definitely look up some of these 🙏💕
Your hair is gorgeous! I feel like your texture is very similar to Sophie Marie Graph’s and she has super good tutorials on the “bowl method” for applying curly products which tends to work very well on long wavy hair! Also, I would watch the hell out of wavy hair content from you if you ever decide to make it 😍
Hey, what eyeshadow are you wearing in the b-roll where you apply the Beauty pie hightlighter (around 6:04)? Thanks ! Love the hair btw 😍
Merit was my favorite until I tried the Roen Roglow Skin Stick. I’m not sure exactly what makes it so unique but it’s by the far the best highlighter I’ve ever used. I can apply it directly to the skin and it still looks natural or just tap my fingers in for a more subtle look. It’s the only highlighter I’ve used where my routine feels incomplete without it.
The hair! Love! I suddenly got Ariel vibes watching this.
Loved this video. And the hair looks amazing !! Did you use the Dyson?
Tutorial for this look? So incredibly beaut!
I know this is an old video...... but I was wondering between the Merit and the Chanel would you consider the Merit to be a done? Are which of the two do you personally prefer?
Hy
Whats concealer did you wear in this vidéo? So nice
I think you looked so good. Ethereal Amanda. :)
Have you tried the Danessa Myricks dew balms? I'm so curious about those
Would LOVE to know what blush you're wearing at 11:40 under the Westman Atelier highlight!
Your hair, and you, look really beautiful.
If you're trying the scrunching method, try plopping your hair into an all cotton shirt with your hair products on
What do you think of the Westman Atelier highlighter in the shade Lit? Too fluorescent?
I've been waiting for this
You look beautiful!!!
You should also try IIllamasqua :) Got a sample and I love it!
This hair on you >>>>>
Does anybody have experience with the nudestix highlighters? Is it very glittery?
There is a fantastic video from BrittCurls about why she quit the 'curly girl method' but still has amazing curls. It was cool to find someone who has come to the same place as me in her curly hair journey. ruclips.net/video/WPWVuK2a_e0/видео.html
I'm sure you know curly hair is all about experimentation and patience. What works for me may never work for someone else, but here are some things I've learned that seem to be universal:
1. No heat. I never use heating tools and personally, I rinse my hair with cool to room temp water. I didn't think I would see that much of a difference, but I was wrong. It does have an impact and it's worth attempting to keep my head under a cold spray even in the winter.
2. Apply your products when hair is damp enough to sound squishy, but not sopping wet.
3. Experiment with how much product you put in your hair. I apply more than is advised on the bottle (pea-sized amount? For hair that's down to my waist?!)
3. I use soft clips to gently encourage certain sections to be lifted up since my long hair is very long and I want more volume at the scalp.
thank you so much! Do you still use a hair dryer just with a cool setting or just air dry?
@@AmandaZ I occasionally use a diffuser attachment with the blowdryer at the lowest cool setting, focusing on the roots. I honestly don't think it'll undo all your work if you use a warm-ish setting though, especially if you happen to live in an area that gets miserably cold in winter months.
Personally, I usually air dry but that's mainly just force of habit and part of my hair ritual I've done for years. This is why I'll use clips to lift curls as I'm sitting around waiting for it to slowly dry. I'll also use fingers to lift hair at the roots up, gently coaxing volume as it dries. This is sorta involved so the hair dryer is maybe the better option lol ☺
@@AmandaZ oh also! When applying hair products, I keep a spray bottle of water around. Keeping the hair damp as you apply products will also really help :) Maybe you know this, but just in case I wanted to include that.

Hey there! Keep trying with the hair. You have beautiful hair. You just have to get your hair used to it.. in no time, you'll have bouncy cutls.
How long have you had the Merit highlighters? Because I've heard a few influencers (including Kackie) say that theirs developed a super-bad smell after a while, and I have seen a lot of user reviews saying the same thing. Mine started out fine but took about 6 months before it started to smell bad, which is not really long enough to use up a whole highlighter. I did enjoy it before that happened though.
You don't happen to have all the Merit lipsticks, do you? Because I would like to see someone try all of them on in a video so that I would have a better idea of which ones to try next - their website has not been all that helpful for that. Baby looks great on you!
I am slowly adding more to my collection so I don’t have a complete swatch video for the lipsticks! Would def consider if I end up getting all of them. The merit highlights don’t smell odd on me, kind of just makeup-y but I’ll stay on the look out
@@AmandaZ I was just about to ask you this, as well. I LOVE the Merit highlighter, but I've only had mine for about 6-ish months, & when I went to use it earlier this week, it had that "off", rancid/crayon-y smell. I don't remember it having an unpleasant smell before...
❤️❤️❤️
your curly hair is hoooot
I HIGHLY recommend Swavy Curly Courtney’s youtube channel, especially this video: ruclips.net/video/-qafabZtAzs/видео.html
her videos have been very helpful for me when I discovered the curly girl
method a couple years ago.
your hair looks really cute, and I hope you don’t take this the wrong way. are you using curly girl products too, especially hair gel? I find that hair gel really helps those juicy curl clumps form and keeps them together while I diffuse. I think we have a similar hair type.
the curly girl method is definitely a lot and it might take a while to navigate all of the resources out there and find out what’s best for you. I wish you luck!
No venden ni una wea en chile oh, que rabia. Sorry honey, I was cursing in spanish because in my country chile 🌶 there is none of these amazing brands 🥺 buying make up online internacional Mode its complicated here u.u
My mom was really chockeada when I told her that I want to leave this place only because there is no Sephora 🤣 I'm serious 💅🏻😎
Merit’s highlighter was so beautiful on the skin, but I still saw glitter all over me :( Which sucks because it is advertised as glitter-free. Looking into VBB highlighter stick now.
Chanel might be a good option too!!
