I remember riding the Continental Trailways Eagle buses out of Edenton NC to Washington DC via Norfolk VA. They were always my favorite Trailways buses to ride too. This was back in the late 60's and early 70's. The trips to Washington DC were made so we could visit my father's grave at Arlington Nation Cemetary.

I learned to drive a motorcoach in an old Eagle model 10 with a 6V92T engine. I fell in love with the sound of a screaming Detroit from then on.

😢 much respect for Trailway Continental I remember as a kid riding on these things with my mom from Connecticut to Virginia my mother never drove a car Big springs back so many memories when I was a kid there never was a breakdown or an accident it was always a pleasant ride at night and the sound of the diesel engine would put me to sleep I was always fascinated with Port authority in New York City it was underground you went through this long dark tunnel for about 5 minutes these buses are tattooed in my brain the smell of the diesel engines and the sound of the motor some things you just don't forget

I used to drive a few automatic Eagles for Greyhound, and the 8-speed Canadian Eagle was the hardest to drive when you are accustomed to driving 4-5-speed manuals. The ride was nice, but the front was hot in the summer since the driver's A/C was poor. A few Eagles didn't have power steering but we still roll!

I don't ever remember riding any Eagles. Rode mostly Greyhound as a youngster. But I always felt like Eagles were attractive coaches. Honestly they looked more "muscular" than the GM or MCI coaches.

In your description "American made bus". Wrong------ made in Europe. Only the later models were made in US.
