I'm sure most lads go through this stage as they can't insure something with a bigger engine so they put an exhaust on their car. As for me, I know have an Audi A6 Le mans quattro 3.0 TDI, so no more mods for me. Oh and finally, Ian Lomas. This doesn't effect the power as it is just a back box, there is still plenty of back pressure from the standard exhaust running to the back box and from the cat. Sorry pal, but you were on the right lines..

yes it does if you have a n/a engine you will lose power if the exhaust pipe is over 2.5 inch but if you have a turbo it can be what ever size you like as a car need back pressure
Exactly the same here, got a 2009 Ibiza fr tsi supercharged turbo petrol, unlike other cars the sport version got good exhaust but my Ibiza dnt sound the best the engine makes a lovely sound vut the exhaust 😂

He fabricated and bent a pipe to go onto the back box, welded it all up and cut the recess in the valance. No clamps used

Having a larger diameter exhaust pipe will not "decrease performance" in any way whatsoever.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you losing horsepower , bcuz ur reducing the back pressure. I'm not sure jus curious
