I have been wanting to see a review of this. I have read it's close to the HRD-747, but has better sound. And as a side note, if it is the same as the 747, it does not have LW, but if you plug a ext antenna in, LW comes up.
You may have found the radio for my emergency bag. While I have an Eton with a hand crank, it doesn't really give me anything over my Boafeng UV-S9+ except the hand crank. Been looking at some of these multi-band radios but they have all had clocks that would run down the battery in storage. Most have non-removable batteries. Because the battery is removable, you could store it longer between charges, most likely. Need to see if that BL5 has the usual low discharge characteristics of other lithium batteries.
I had the lower end version of this radio that did not have SSB. I sent it back because it kept drifting off the WX channel, I could retune it back but only to have it drift off the WX channel again.
AA batteries are nice, but alkalines are terrible for long storage. Too often you go to use a device only to find it ruined because the battery corrosion ruined the terminals. Also with rechargeable and all the ways to charge things nowadays. I don't recall if he mentioned what the charge port is but most likely a common USB port.
I got one ordered. I didn’t have a SW/SSB radio so I needed something. I got it for 69.99. I hope it works well.
how much , you can buy in the UK for £35
This is like the Raddy RF760 I got! LOVE this thing!

I could see that as a nice option for the bug-out bag being lightweight and smallish. It would be nice if it scanned.
it does scan i havent figured out the rest yet over the weekend i just go it the manual isnt much help

I will send this back if it doesn't work properly just like the other one.

Is it worth getting.
Can I use a BNC female to 3.5mm adapter and a Radioworld R 881 Super Gainer Scanner Antenna 25 1900Mhz antenna for this radio.?
Can it tune down to 450 kHz, SSB ?
Same as the Raddy RF 760
