This is by far the most impressive multi-power radio.
Man, talk about a great voice for radio. Great content too.
Thanks for the reviews
Thank you for the review.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Iridium, I'm a radio guy. I love my radios. But, I have some concerns about radios with non- replaceable batteries. What do we do with the radio when the battery goes bad? And what if we can't find someone to replace the battery? There's a few more questions I have, but I think you get the point. Keep up the good work! Thanks!
Nice radio! Thank you😊😊😊😊😊
Just ordered it thanks for the video. HAPPY HOLIDAYS
I found the exact one but from a company you reviewed a product from before called raddy. The same exact radio, but I enjoyed the video! definitely going to look at picking this up!
He just showed how they are not the same radio.
Thanks for sharing. I need this. I can set this out while camping on a low volume setting as background music/noise. hopefully it can charge while playing. Just ordered from amazon and looking forward to this. Looking forward to your next video and have a great Christmas.
It'll charge during daylight hours even a bit if it's overcast. There is a battery monitor that lights up in green when it's charging.
It has a headphone jack! Excellent.
Will definitely pick up a couple of these. I was actually looking for one to buy. Thanks for the recommendation!
Good review thanks for sharing YAH bless !
I have a real good survival radio, it's been through hell and it still looks, works like new. And it's been under water a few times.
I have the smaller unit without the crank, compass and flashlight for 30 dollars. The sound out of that little speaker will blow you away. great all-around radio.
I have that one too and just got this one today. Lost the user manual for the older one but this one somewhat helps. The 702 is far more intuitive to operate. Thank you for this review, you do an excellent job... New subscriber.
BIG drawback is that the low-end of SW is 5.7 Plenty of broadcasting below that at night.
cool radio but i do personally prefer the Tecsun pl660 to get cb & freeband channels. I keep a couple in faraday cages just in case. Love your video content, subbing
I use a couple dead microwaves as faraday cages
The Raddy Daddy 😁
I've ordered mine through Amazon for around $50 bucks, and It's awesome. I was searching for someone to make a video on this radio. Interesting fact that I didn't get it with the case it only came with the box. Another interesting thing is mine is the RADDY brand!
Thanks for sharing 😀
Have had mine now for 2 weeks and I have the Z brand with the case and two straps, the lanyard and the thick wrist strap. Did you at least get that? If not, I would exchange it. This radio is marketed under different badges at various prices.
Wonder if RECENT solar flares caused problems with RECEPTION?
independent comms are vital these days given the reliance on the internet
it would be nice if you could put alkaline batteries in it incase the batteries fail.
and a hand strap on the carrying case.
Was able to use the lanyard as somewhat of a handstrap since the carry case has actual hinges. The combination is a bit heavy though, wouldn't trust it... I wouldn't trust the lanyard by itself on the radio, glad to have the wrist strap.
Thanks for your review.I got the 700 one.Do you know the best brands of the BC batteries to get for back up? Thanks alot
I just got extras off amazon and they work well.
Thanks for the review. What type of batteries does this use?
Two 3.7V 2000mAh 18650 rechargeable batteries
@@Iridium242 easily replaced?
Some of those dont have a headphone jack , to me , thats a deal breaker . Why wouldnt any manufacturer after 1997 , make any radio without a headphone jack ? Just dumb . That one does have one .
Headphone jacks go back much further than 1997.
Transistor radios all had them in the 60s.
True , but manufacturers didnt start putting them in , on a regular basis , untill the 90's . Some did , some did not , depending on what type . @@HouseholdDog
@@tolik5929 For portable stuff I really can't think of one that didn't. Pretty well every one I have seen does.
I have a fair collection of earlier radios that do too, although these would be more collectable brands.
Also I am not sure why 1997 would be the year they all switched? It would be almost 15 years since the walkman came out in 97.
Ok so what is your point?
Point is , its a HUGE sales blunder . If its an emergency radio , or even a radio . The option to be able to keep the noise to yourself is actually important . SHTF type device that lets everybody know where you are is bad . They as a manufacturer lost A LOT of money , not putting something that is standard , and common place with their competition . @@Dancingontgesun1942
How do I get one?
My only complaint is, why do these things so often deny us certain bands like CB or amateur bands. It's usually just a software choice.
Some do some dont, my primary reason for one like this would be to have shortwave broadcast bands, as I am already a ham and would have a ham rig with me
Look at a Tecsun or AHDATA (D-808) radio. Continuous frequency over VFO 300Khz to 30Mhz AND SSB (LSB and USB). See my longer comment in the comment section.
What type of battery does this radio use? It will ultimately go bad so it would be nice to see a tear-down to at least the battery so we know how to replace it, if it's even replaceable.
an 18650 battery you can pick them up for extras all over
@@Iridium242Good to know that it's an 18650 battery.
Does the solar panel actually work on it?
It certainly does! Was surprised to see that it was charging (green light indicator) while sitting in the window on an overcast day. And another time, it was charging before we had full-on sunshine. Had the radio playing at medium volume...
❤️🌟🎄🌟❤️
What do they make that would let me communicate with my sister 50 miles away? Is this capable of that also?
This is a reciever only. Depending on your location, and sister, you could use a BAOFENG UV-5R and hit the repeater, but you require a ham radio license to transmit. You could only use during emergency (as in, grid down, etc).
Cool radio, uncool canned water lol
Lol I got it just to see if it was real or any good lol
