thats great. I've been thinking about doing a similar thing on my layout for loco sounds and general background noise. I can't afford to mount sound decoders in all my locos so this is exactly what I was thinking of. Thanks for proving that it works a treat!! Nice work!
Great idea,,Love sitting on the big stations listening to the announcements with a pint or two on the platform,,York has pub tables on the platform,Been woken up a few times one to many, You can have a few shants in your front room and its cheaper...
@mrwacca1 The sounds are from "you tube" under the title of "station announcements"save them on your computer then record them onto a cd and there you have it,
My first thought was how good can this be, after seeing it and having a go myself, its genius so pleased with the result, in my top ten mini projects, also so easy to change the sound just make a new cd
Search "railway station announcements"on you tube, have fun.then i record them and put them on a cd via the computer although now people have done this using smaller i pods etc, nice channel you have over there, regards Tony.
Very nice idea, are you in the UK? im trying to do the same type set up, and model a UK based layout, wonder if you could help me out with getting a bunch of announcements, nice idea mate!!!! sub'd!!!!
Fantastic layout. Some people say I have a similar sounding voice to Phil Sayer. If you're interested, I'd love to provide you with some announcements specific to your route.
I was just thinking how superb this layout looked when I read a post saying you have dismantled it, if it's because you moved house then this will be a nightmare I'll have to face should I find myself in the same situation.
+MrSocket77 Decided to build a new layout which i,ve made a couple of short vids named Gardenia street, more detailed but takes ages to build,ALL GOOD FUN, cheers for looking.
how do you download the sounds from youtube?? can i have a very in depth answer plese cheers i need to know how to do this as i have all the bits required just need the info on how to download
i like it v good only thing is its all dif voices diff locations look at Train announcement impressions he can o lots a auto staion anounoucments so i 4t why not ask him to do personal for your layout i will when no what i want
@HitchinTrains Thanks for comment, next job is to go to local station record the announcements and ambient noise with the camcorder(people walking, talking, cars, birds singing etc)and make a full cd.Finally record the sound via the computer after editing from the camera the various sounds required.
search for the "Pricom Dream Player" This unit once you set it up is great. I will have abit of it in my next video layout video. It uses an SD Card. Up to four different tracks.
Matthew Stamp Hi i recorded some annonucements off you tube using a app called tubemate, after downloading them i then used windows media player to select and burn them onto a cd,i put them in order of my platforms so for platform 3 i made this track number 3 on the cd,for platform 6,i made it track 6 on the cd,this allows me to choose the track for the train entering or leaving each platform, hope it explains it for you, thanks for looking in.
