I like reloads. It's main reason for using midcaps. I like to be limited (somewhat) on ammo in one mag. So I mostly use like 60-80 BBs midcaps which usually work just fine without extreme pressure on BBs. And I carry like 6 of them.
Yes! And most of our fields/games over here follows the same standard rules. Me, who falls in the AUTO B class, are confined to a maximum of 80bb's per mag, so midcap is kinda just easier(plus I also like the reloading). Unrelated: Auto B also can't have more than 389,3fps / 118,7mps for 0,25 and 307,4fps for 0,3. And a safety distance of 10meters, whitin 10m I'll have to draw my "cqb-fps" sidearm if I want to shoot anyone.
The rattle is enough for me to never touch a hicap again, so long as I am able to get good midcaps for the gun I'm running (LMGs notwithstanding, of course, not like you're gonna be sneaky beaky like with one of them). That being said, the winding is also a disadvantage that has a few potential benefits. Takes ages, finger gets sore, just as bad as rattling when out in the field. It's why I far prefer flash mag style hicaps, since they wind so much faster. Also, you actually get to reload when you use a midcap, hicaps hold too much ammo. Objectively inferior in terms of game performance, I know, but I just love to reload in the middle of a battle.
Everyone says "hi caps hold more ammo" but i would say they don't hold more where you really need it. A highcap might hold 700 bbs but most I've had only get like 50 shots before you have to wind, versus a midcap only holds 100 but you get all 100 continuously. And ill bet i can swap mags just as fast if not faster than it would take me to wind the midcap enough for it to start feeding again
@@NegativeAirsoftTech But if you wind the hi cap mag enough to give you a similar bb feeding efficiency to the midcaps then midcap syndrome should then also become a concern?
They rattle, you can fire less continuously before you have to turn the little wheel, sometimes the little trapdoor through which you put the BBs in goes loose very quickly so if you're not careful it just opens and spills it out. And reloading in general is not problem. The price for capacity ratio is a fair point for hicaps but if you're already spending 300£ for an Airsoft gun, you can afford extra 20£ worth of mags.
The main reason i switched to midcaps is they feed more reliably. I couldn't get any of the 3 hicaps i had to feed consistently at 20 rps in my ak which just has a 22k motor, 11.1 25c 1300 mah, and standard 18:1 gears. I only run .25's. I switched to pts tpm's and they fed flawlessly. I don't know why it's like that but the stock cyma bakelite ak74 mag was skipping 3 rounds when i tried to shoot full auto every few shots. Double eagle metal ak47 hicap same thing. And cyma Bulgarian 5.56 flash mag again didn't work. That's not to say they don't work on semi because they do and yes i can pull the trigger really fast and they will feed. Its just the full auto for some reason. It also wasn't a case of too much pressure because if it was it would've stopped after the first shots.
I have the exact opposite issue. Midcaps wont feed my hose gun over 20 rps unless i use light weights . As soon as i through. 32 in a mid cap they act like a prome date and choke even on semi . I can throw a drum or flash in them and they will eat .32g @ 30/35 rps all day .
Ive had the same problem with my cyma ak74. Completely stock, I was having occasional feed issues on both 7.4 and 11.1. switched to midcaps and it disappeared.
i find that hi caps feed more poorly than mid caps, a good hicap is amazing, especially if a P90 hicap does its job and dosnt auto unwind since thats the only hi cap that doesnt rattle.

definitively a high cap user here, but one question regarding the nozzle fitment tho, the nozzle may wobble a bit on the cylinder head when by themselves, but what about the whole assembly? if the Hop up block doesn't allow much movement for the nozzle, then it should not interfer with the loading of the bb's and therefore the goal would be to get the smoothest movement of the nozzle on the cylinder head? (since the nozzle would not move much thanks to the Hop up Block). Would a Delayer be a better solution then since it will keep the nozzle open for longer?
may i add that it's all purely theorytical, in the case of having the proper nozzle to hop up block fitment (not even counting for the tappet plate stiffness and the hop up bucking)
@@floriangravouil1456 I'm thinking you're right. how can you say the only disadvantage to high caps is that they rattle? If you have a high rps you need a good quality midcap or else you will be dry firing a hell of a lot, you will always be dry firing because you need to wind the stupid thing more then you shoot with it, If you want to play at a milsims you will need to bin them and buy some midcaps anyway, 99% of high cap brands are just cheap trash, there more heavy because you have more bb's in your loadout, If you want to reload mid game it means you have to bring a bottle of bb's with you, The only high caps I can agree with you on is the p90 mags because they reload the whole mag with 1 wind, I have fully custom DSG build and can't even use high caps because the springs are never strong enough unless you literally modify the mag to get it to feed. Still love the content keep it up!
both of your cases are edge cases tbh, milsim is the minority of games as are DSG builds. as for reloading most people don't they just carry a second hicap and if you need more than 1200 rounds in an hour long game then you're looking at box mags or really looking at how you are shooting.
After watching just 2 videos from this guy I can already extrapolate what he thinks about people trying to take Airsoft seriously in any way and pretending it's not just wackos shooting each other with toy guns for fun. So with that I daresay he doesn't care about milsim too much...

But once he started to curse and call them "stupid ass" at 13:35 he stopped trying to convince mid cap exclusive people and started to use emotions in a logic based argument.
Some of the other points were pretty reasonable, but the "people will hear you talking" bit is a headscratcher. You have the choice to not talk, but you can't always choose not to wind a hicap, and you can only sort of choose to move smoothly enough not to rattle your hicap.
My issues with highcaps: they rattle, you don't always know how much tension (read: shots before you have to wind again) is in the clockwork spring, the winding wheel is a drag to use (flash mags are a thing, but they introduce another failure point), that clockwork spring is easy to break if you're a caveman like me and overwind the shit out of them, and you can very easily jam a highcap. There's also the issue that a lot of milsim organizers don't allow highcaps (and limit the number of mags you can carry)... but they will allow EPM1s which are close enough in capacity.

I had a highcap for my m4 and it was garbage, it wouldnt feed at all i literally had to hold the gun upside down to use it, midcaps use a spring with constant pressure to push a new bb into the barrel highcaps use a gear system and rely on bbs to keep the pressure in order for it to feed new rounds and that is unreliable
"Hicaps rattle" the cry of someone who has only used them as a hire player. Full hicaps don't have space for bbs to rattle loudly. Empty hicaps don't have any bbs to rattle and unless you're Michael J. Fox the one in your gun shouldn't be rattling either.

You can adjust how much pressure is in mid caps, by changing out the spring and dialing in the proper spring pressure for the magazine and BB weight you use. I personally cant stand high cap magazines. Ive taken a lot of people out running around with high caps in the woods, because I could hear them way before I even saw them. High Caps are tactically stupid and give away your position. I also run my replicas on HPA, so the nozzle issue from BBs putting pressure on the nozzle, is non existent.

And I did not talked about refilling them…
i just honestly hate the rattle of high caps and i like reloading
I switched to gas because they don't suck balls to work on. Forced me to become a better shot because I have limited bbs to work with. I would sooner simp real caps before hi caps
You can tell by this guys general aura of anger and annoyance that he’s not a shill. SUUUBSCRIBED!!!!
i used to be a must use mid caps kind of guy... now im older and wiser and just cant be fucked 500-700rd AK hi cap will do me
Video is spot on. I’ve said this for years and no one believes it.
i prefer mid caps because i play in the woods with a smallish group of people. 8-15 and i wear a ghillie with silenced hpa. stealth is very important to me and i don’t mind mid caps. i’ve personally never had to deal with midcap syndrome before and i run the EPM1’s without any issue (aside from a couple odin rebuild kits…)
For me playing with max 7 other people at a now defunct paintball field the rattle is too much when running. I also like reloading!
Are you suggesting that a mip cap magazine applies TOO much pressure on the nozzle and prevents the gun from feeding? Id love to know what your thoughts are on this situation is and whether you think you could diagnose this issue as 'mid cap syndrome'? I have a G&G 416 (you'll say, "well that's your problem right there"). Trust me, I know. However it literally ONLY runs on hi caps. It WILL not accept any mid cap I've tried. I can only use the G&G hi caps to boot. I thought it was the design of the mag so I bought a bunch of metal stanag mags because that's what my hi cap ones are. But no, they still don't feed a single round but it runs absolutely FLAWLESSLY on the hi caps and I'll be honest. It's been killing me
FYI, this videos has been incredibly informative and a great insight
I will however take every video you make with a pinch of salt because you've been known to TROLL in the past😂
@DankMayoLit I have wide nozzles for most AR variants which help this - look on my website chap.

Hey man, learnt something, appreciate it.
I only switched to midcaps after getting an ngrs hicaps are nice and in cqb they often have music and stuff so you dont hear the shaking
Most of my milsim games are midcaps only. Haven't used hicap mags unless I do a walk-in game.
I play cqb and with all the constant shooting from everybody. You are not going to notice any rattle from a high cap mag. Ics are my favorite kind of high cap because they have the smoothest winding wheel.
I just got some Arcturus d day tan AKM 7.62 mags to run on my main SLR AKu in 6.62 with an extend suppressor concealing an extended barrel. And I just got some lct ak12 mags for my Daytona ak, the mag well and mag lip for the mags is smaller and definitely is taking some time to get used to.
i see in your ocllection some of those guns lok incredible..and the paints better than ive seen yet on the open market, where would i find a gun like that? i wannna actually play with it tho, idc the cost or rarity i want something jaw dropping

Bought epm 2 mid cap i think 250bbs? They were great. I have Scar H high cap tho and the mag is full metal and it never rattles, is so good i now use it and it normally last me one game easily. I have 2 mid caps as back up but so far didn't have a need to use them.
how can you say the only disadvantage to high caps is that they rattle?
@@FrederickApollyon he is at least supportive of it and doesn't shit on it.
@@FrederickApollyon I don't think it matters if he cares about milsim or not its a part of airsoft that people enjoy.
@@jediknight129 yeah but he shits on midcaps?
the best cure to mag rattle is to ask the guy in his milsim Operaytor vest is to jump up an down,ah, seems your gear is louder than my misses when when i tell her to turn off married at first sight to watch stoke vs west Bromwich Albion 0-0 .
can always take it apart and put a layer of silicone to the highcap and then no rattle lol
Just bought my first aeg. Never liked winding hi caps. I like mid caps so i can reload after doing what the high caps do and spurt 100+ bbs up the wall
What I really like about this channel is that by not trying to appease the airsoft masses, it instead collects some decent people in the comment section giving their take and letting an airsoft noob like me see some good points being made on both sides of whatever the discourse happens to be about. stay you
Dude where can i find the background music you use? I've never heard this synthwave before..
I drag it from YT...
I'm not seeing anyone talking about how he started to get heated half way through, until then he was making really good points about why people should run Hi caps. But once he started to curse and call them "stupid ass" at 13:35 he stopped trying to convince mid cap exclusive people and started to use emotions in a logic based argument.
Real steel hicap(drum mags/belt boxes) rattle too
So basically only use my high caps in my MCX because all my Midcap are EPM-1s I don't want to ruin my MCX ??
another super video. Thanks man
Some of the other points were pretty reasonable, but the "people will hear you talking" bit is a headscratcher. You have the choice to not talk, but you can't always choose not to wind a hicap, and you can only sort of choose to move smoothly enough not to rattle your hicap.
I'll have you know my unicycle has been preforming excellent ever since I put Pirelli tires on it.
Pirelli tyres on a unicycle hahah that’s priceless mate
I only use hicaps if they're flash mags. Those things are crazy.
There's also the issue that a lot of milsim organizers don't allow highcaps (and limit the number of mags you can carry)... but they will allow EPM1s which are close enough in capacity.
i have TM Scar H recoil shock needs a repair sounds horrific internally
I very much dislike winding high caps and I’ve never met someone who has experienced “mid cap” syndrome
Well, GIYF...

dealers choice
I had a highcap for my m4 and it was garbage, it wouldnt feed at all i literally had to hold the gun upside down to use it, midcaps use a spring with constant pressure to push a new bb into the barrel highcaps use a gear system and rely on bbs to keep the pressure in order for it to feed new rounds and that is unreliable
I'm curious (tech side ) why u did 2 tooth on release side and 1 from pick side ?
I run with 5 hicaps (380rds). I don't mind winding nor do I mind the rattle
great video! little question here about magazine adapter, I cant find anywhere in europe or usa ak to m4 adapter... any Ideas
so gun is ak want to load m4 mags...
"Hicaps rattle" the cry of someone who has only used them as a hire player. Full hicaps don't have space for bbs to rattle loudly. Empty hicaps don't have any bbs to rattle and unless you're Michael J. Fox the one in your gun shouldn't be rattling either.
I will never wind a hi cap ever again… how silly that that look tickling your gun mag😅
Hey you ever get your hands on a GBLS DAS? If so, what do you think about it?
first one I fired broke on first shot, the rest were fine but they're horrible & noisey. Not worth the money.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech yeah its hard to justify $1700 for a base gun. Might as well put that towards a real gun

The only reason I ever put deans connectors on my guns in the first place was because I (used to) have RC cars with deans. So, I had loads of deans batteries.
That was an XT60.
I've been using the cylinder head tapering/flaring method for yonks now, but as shown it's easy to go too far haha
But great technique nonetheless - Cheers for letting the broader community learn Luke- Helpful demonstration :)
I like hicaps for new guns that I havn't got any midcaps for yet
what are your thoughts on the begadi made/brand parts?
Most are basic rebranded acm, but they have some interesting stuff like hops and rubbers
Their hop rubbers are probably the most quality engineered rubber you can get
They're ar15 hop unit are really cool, you can adjust everything. No more missfeed and nice adjustability on every brands.
Begadi are basically rebranded Military Action parts.
I have the fly 5 rubber from begadi and I am really impressed So far. Just ordered their cnc pro nozzle, 28tpa mamba motor and omega style tensioner nub, excited to test them :p
Vids that use white bat audio are always better. Approved 👍

I mean, I use one of those two and 50 on midcalf but I I also have midcalf syndrome. Can’t help it I’ve tried.
How would someone go about ensuring they get the best nozzle for their particular gun? Buy a few different ones which are the same length of the one provided with the gun and just trial and error? Just got a CYMA Platinum CM.098A SR25 so trying to ascertain the parts I need to get the power, range and accuracy as best as possible when I semi lock it and push past the AR fps limits
Tbh if you're sneaking around, you shouldn't be moving in a way that makes you high cap rattle anyway.
As someone who carries around an AUG with a backpack filled with ammo while using a high cap, I can still easily sneak around if I need to. So the rattle doesn't even bother me whatsoever.
I've just got the same specna arms (i could just barely afford it) do you recommend taking it apart before its first game to grease it? I realize i lose my warranty
Neg ... j.s its been said that glueing the nozzle to the tappet and the tappet itself is the best fix for mid cap , a stiff tappet spring helps also .
How will that help the hollow point of your nozzle being at the front?
@@NegativeAirsoftTech it removes the majority of flex from the nozzle. So the nozzle dont have the slop in the tappet .
@@NegativeAirsoftTech i should say . I believe your fix is the way to go . Just trying to get you to address the other current fixs .

Does anyone know what barrel shroud that is? It looks really sexy
this man does not think that having a rattle directly in front of your face and also attached to your chest is not distracting and doesn't make it harder to hear things around you
Good tip about the nozzle
You can adjust how much pressure is in mid caps, by changing out the spring and dialing in the proper spring pressure for the magazine and BB weight you use.
I personally cant stand high cap magazines. Ive taken a lot of people out running around with high caps in the woods, because I could hear them way before I even saw them. High Caps are tactically stupid and give away your position.
I also run my replicas on HPA, so the nozzle issue from BBs putting pressure on the nozzle, is non existent.
Hi-cap mags : Like Watson offering his hand shake to Holmes's brother.... "Noooo" Sherlock:" yeah he doesn't do that". 🤣
I never understood the hype with maxx parts when I could get stock parts or cheaper standard replacement parts to work as well or better.
Are lowcaps fine?
Dude the winding of the mag was painful lol. Flash mags are really the thing lol.
