I just did a full test of the LR AWD against this, the difference in range is actually only 5-9% depending on your speed. So realistically we're talking 450 km of range vs 495 km. Full test coming soon.

@@Franksoocold if you soft touch it, if I could say that, it’s kinda ass yes. You need to press it more down. What I have experienced. If you just soft touch it like non electric/non tesla cars, it barely brakes. The brakes are a bit harder that other cars also I feel. But yeah
@TheOnlyEn Was thinking about 2024 model 3. Took a test drive and found out that the suspension and soundproofing is still dogshit. Thinking of getting a used model S.
You have it backwards. Track Mode slows the car down. You want heat in the battery for top end acceleration. Your battery was cold to begin with so you weren’t getting fast times in Insane Mode. Then when you switch to Track Mode it is already cold and you will get largely the same results. Heat the battery first and don’t put it in track mode at all. Then you will see how quick it can be. I did 7.30 for 100-200 mph full weight with the Panasonic battery. I did 7.0 for 100-200 kph with weight reductions. The LG battery doesn’t respond quite as much with heat in the battery but it will help.
If you have the Panasonic then you'll be a lot faster than the LG. I believe the best quarter mile times I've seen between the two, there's something like 0,8 of a seconds difference, which of course is huge for a quarter mile. I know there are ways to optimize battery for better performance etc. but one of the things I feel strong about is real world conditions, i.e. the actual performance people can expect when they're out driving these cars, without first having preconditioned things to optimal performance. I appreciate the tips though, I may try it out next time I'm doing a test just to see the difference!
@@MisterFench I get showing real world times. However, it is simply a press of a button while you pull out of your driveway. It is worth trying. Certainly, the US Panasonic battery cars are much quicker. However, heating the battery will still help the LG cars just not as much. Don’t use track mode at all and navigate to a Supercharger while you drive to the place where you test. It will give you optimal times then with virtually zero extra effort.
@@MisterFench considered the performance, it is really not that bad for an EV because those were high speed runs compared to just launching the car with minimal wind resistance
@@HY13tech yes exactly. I checked a moment from the recordings, at which point I had driven 140km and used 48 kWh, 347 Wh/km. So yeah, there's probably around 200km range available with such driving. Although if you're just steadily driving 190/200 without constantly flooring it and accelerating, the consumption is probably a little less
Car doesn't leave Insane mode for me. Everything else feels broken and also you never can know when you might need to have a race out of nowhere, no time to fiddle around lol ;). To be fair, I've been driving first a 2019 performance and now a 2024 so that's 5 years with ridiculous acceleration that I take somewhere in the 3s 0-100kmh for granted now
Yeah, I try and drive in chill mode as that also helps not to get too used to the quick acceleration 😇 I also like the idea of manually switching into insane mode when you need the speed, kind of like "Ok prepare for take off!" And away you go 🎢 🙂 after my video of the acceleration tests, where I did god knows how many launches, it started to feel very normal for me. Not slow, but also not super fast anymore. Just .. normal. Guess next time we need a Plaid 😅
@@MisterFench Im just used to driving it as slow as i need in insane mode by using less pedal and then always having full power available as soon as you stab it. Yes it does spoil you forever. I haven't actually been in someone else's car for a while. I've forgotten how slow most cars are. Keep up the vids
Nice one. Keep up the vids. Gotta say I'm jealous of getting to drive it on the autobahn. Fastest I've gone in Australia is 150km/h and that's very illegal but the car feels totally planted and happy. Definitely the speed limit isn't for this car but the crappy old ones with bald tyres haha
@GraftonPrimaryvideo it's really a privilege to be able to legally drive this fast when you have a performance car like this. I guess that's also why we care less about the 0-100 times, and more about 100-200 because most often those are the speeds where people are "racing" each other. Not necessarily racing, but you know, when people overtake each other on the autobahn, it's very much an egotistical thing if showing "look how much faster my car is than yours."
I saw a drag race between the old M3P and the new Highland M3P. They were equal. My old M3P needed nearly 16 Seconds from 0-200 km/h. The 3,2 seconds 0-100 and 9 seconds 100-200 is 12,2 seconds 0-200 km/h for this Highland?! That‘s nearly 4 seconds faster, … Where‘s the fault?
It highly depends on the battery, whether it's LG or Panasonic. The Panasonic will gap the old M3P significantly, but if you take an old M3P Panasonic against the new M3P LG, then the difference isn't that big from 0-150. However, after 150+ the newer M3P (LG and Pana) will deliver faster acceleration. Since there's a difference in performance based on battery SOC, you can only compare the two with equal SOC. It's very dishonest when car-channels (such as Carwow) take an old M3P with full battery, and put it against the new M3P with a lower state of charge and do dragraces against eachother. 16 seconds from 0-200 sounds like you tested it with a lower than 80% state of charge. Even the LR should be capable of 16 secs if it's well charged
@@karstenreker1267 They must have tested it without a properly charged battery, or perhaps they did some hard performance tests prior and the battery/motors were slightly limited in power due to heat. I couldn't say, but it's definitely not a realistic number. Even AutotopNL did a run in 13.1 seconds which sounds much more realistic.
Yes and in another Test they did 14.9, sadly they don't mention the SoC but when Bloch of Auto Motor Sport measures cars, he always sais doing it under 50% SoC, that would explain it. Also the Dragrace from Carwow was a rare Model 3 Performance "Stealth" which is rare and was only shortly produced in 2019, it has only the Chassis and the Drivetrain from the Performance, everything else is from the Lr, including the smaller 18"Aeros which won't fit on a normal Performance because of the larger Brake Calipers of the normal Performance. So this Version of the old Performance in Carwow was actually faster than any other Performance before the Highland and on top of that it had 90%SoC and the new Performance Highland only had 60%. So being equally fast under this circumstances makes even this the Highland Performance EU Version 460ps with LG Battery definitely faster than the old one, but it's not like a Day and Night difference as it is with the US-Panasonic 510hp Version.
How many kilometers have you driven in total with all those accelerations? I’m really curious. It looks like you still have plenty of battery left despite all that acceleration.
@AI-CHS on that drive I probably drove around 160-170km, going from 97 to around 10-13%. Unfortunately with the GoPro overheating I can't be more specific than that 🫤
My i4 M50 did 8.7 100 - 200 so far but with only 65% SOC in Sport Boost mode. Another user posted 8.43 with 95% SOC. I did 8.1 100 - 200 from 0 using launch mode (developed more momentum obviously ... nonrealistic for a roll race since yuh don't start from zero lol). However the U.S. M3P will take me :D Hands down (and I own both cars). The BMW is much better quality... and no question about the interior. Only downfall is waiting @ Electrify America sucks unless. you time it right. Tesla was never a problem :P BMW def. brakes and handles better too. Range is about the same for both cars honestly from what I'm getting. Depends how enthusiastic you are ;)
@NlghtShifter thank you for confirming what I have thought! Honestly, if the i4 M50, fully loaded eith extras would have been the same price as the M3P, it would have been tough for me not to pick that one 🤔 I do wonder about the efficiency though, but probably no more than 10-15% difference which in real world use is hardly noticeable. How do you like the Harman Kardon sound system compared to the Tesla?
The GPS doesn't start timing until you hit 100, so starting a little below is better, as you then get a chance to put your foot all the way down properly before the timing starts. If you would drive at 99 and floor it, you'll probably lose a few miliseconds while the car gets into motion and full acceleration is reached
@@MisterFench it is different if you start accelerating from 100 or if you start from 80. Starting from 80 you have built up already more power. Isn't it?
My US spec 24 M3P has a draggy time of 11.05 0-200. With proper track, SOC, and preheating, people are getting 10.5s. The one EU M3P on the leader board has a 12.35. Crazy difference.
God i just hate that interior. Looks like a uber driver car. 😂 bmw i4 seems to focus more on mid range speed then 0-60 times. Thats interesting its faster 100-200
Bro nobody give af about a damn 100-200.. red light races are all that matters. You goofballs can take that to the track.. us normal people go from one light to the other
@@Franksoocold that may be the dumbest take I've ever seen. U use 100-200 WAY more often when daily driving. How often will u be at the front of the line at a red light? @@Franksoocold if you soft touch it, if I could say that, it’s kinda ass yes. You need to press it more down. What I have experienced. If you just soft touch it like non electric/non tesla cars, it barely brakes. The brakes are a bit harder that other cars also I feel. But yeah
Harder I mean by the pedal is hard, the braking power from your fot to the pedal. The actual brakes on the Tesla model 3 24’ is good in my experience
@TheOnlyEn Was thinking about 2024 model 3. Took a test drive and found out that the suspension and soundproofing is still dogshit.
Thinking of getting a used model S.
God! I just wish I could afford one of these!
One day my friend. 🙏
This is the video I chose for my lunch pause 😁 I have one question, what was the overall consumption after abusing the car that much?
@@HY13tech 350 watthours per kilometre 😬😅 actually not too bad all things considered
That‘s nearly 4 seconds faster, …
Where‘s the fault?
@@MisterFench 15,9 seconds was a Auto Motor Sport Magazin Test.
I did 0-200kmh in 14.15s in my 22 M3P (LG)
How many kilometers have you driven in total with all those accelerations? I’m really curious. It looks like you still have plenty of battery left despite all that acceleration.
@AI-CHS on that drive I probably drove around 160-170km, going from 97 to around 10-13%. Unfortunately with the GoPro overheating I can't be more specific than that 🫤
@@MisterFench It's simply incredible, truly impressive results. Thank you, fantastic video!

Yes; default / race settings. 100% Regen, Bias neutral

Is this a joke or something
Where are you in Germany?
Nice flex with your Starbucks!
Good eye! It's interesting that several people take notice of (and know) the watch I'm wearing
Shouldn't the 100-200 start at 100 not something below?
There is a difference. Or?
The GPS doesn't start timing until you hit 100, so starting a little below is better, as you then get a chance to put your foot all the way down properly before the timing starts. If you would drive at 99 and floor it, you'll probably lose a few miliseconds while the car gets into motion and full acceleration is reached
@@MisterFench it is different if you start accelerating from 100 or if you start from 80. Starting from 80 you have built up already more power. Isn't it?
@kingmiro yes exactly, you build a better momentum starting from 80, and gps meter doesn't start until 100, so it's better that way 👌👍

@@Franksoocold that may be the dumbest take I've ever seen. U use 100-200 WAY more often when daily driving. How often will u be at the front of the line at a red light?
