this team had a ridiculous 10 pro bowlers and 7 all pros. could have an argument this is the best Eagles team that didn’t win a SB and one of the best of the 2000s period.
They were very good, but the 2004 team was even better. That was still the Eagles best, if not most talented roster ever, despite not winning the big game like the 2017 squad eventually did.
@@freakyfornash The 2004 team probably had more star power, but the 2017 team was deeper and more well rounded. They were very close though. Of course the 2017 team got the job done and '04 didn't, but in defense of '04, they faced a stronger Patriots team in the Super Bowl. The '04 Patriots imho were one of the best teams of all time.
@@joshlight6892 Yeah, and the 04 Patriots were simply not going to be denied that season. That being even if the Eagles gave them all they could handle as heavy underdogs though. Last year's Eagles team was obviously another great squad who didn't quite get the job done, but this year's team is looking nothing short of amazing though. How ironic that their lone defeat was at the hands of the mediocre Jets who they never lost to up until this season however! L.O.L.!
That team was definitely very good, and one of the better squads they ever had. The 04 team I still say was their best (or at least most talented) one ever, even if they weren't able to finish the job that season though.
Looking back, lets face it that team had flaws and that's why they didn't win it all. McNabb was still most of their offense, Vincent and Taylor were just beginning to show their age, Kirkland and Bishop were vulnerable in the passing game.
Kirkland though was at the tail end of his career. But I was surprised that Bishop fell so far, considering the fact that he was one of the leagues premier safeties, despite his age at the time too. He was an apparent big ticket signing who was supposed to be a key anchor for their secondary, but didn't quite happen though.
@@freakyfornash Damon Moore was a very underrated player who was in the shadow of Dawkins, Vincent, and Taylor in 2001. He had a tremendous nose for the ball and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. That secondary was amazing in 2001. We could sure use them on the current Eagles.
I would say Taylor and Vincent more so showed their age the following year with injuries. I do agree that 5 was the offense along with the running game, which included McNabb.
15:30 actually it wasn't the first time ever. That happened in 1948, the year of their first league title. They won their first division championship in 1947 but lost the title game that season.
An feeley did good. You’re a 😂thinkin McManus shouldn’t of been in. How bout not have Ebi cover joe , more importantly deuce is gettin 7 a carry.why stop
I'm gonna say right now that the MAIN reason why the Eagles lost the Conference championship game against the Buccaneers was because A. J. Feeley didn't play enough of that game. If Feeley had been the starter they would have won.
Yup, they should've stayed with the hot hand. Then the next year when they needed McNabb to powere through against Carolina he bitched out! 13 points combined in those 2 championship games McNabb produced!
Or mabye because the Eagles got completly shit on 27-3 for 59 minutes of the game. Buccaneers were clearly the much better team and it showed that day.
Perhaps they should not have taunted Jurevicius about his newborn son's illness? That was deplorable. Joe's long run got the team going. Season opener the following year in Philly's new home and some fans showed off little baby caskets they brought to taunt Joe with (his son died that offseason). Eagles lost 16-0. Joe scored two TD's. Don't fuck with Joe.
Dang can you believe how many assistant coaches were on the Eagles who went on too become head coaches in the NFL ?
Great team. Bitter ending

My opinion it is the best that didn’t win it.

Think it’s safe to say now that the 2022 Eagles were probably the best eagles team ever even though they didn’t win it

The 2002 Eagles Was such a great eagles team. Wished they won the super bowl that year

This should be playing on a loop all week in the Novacare Conplex all week
2002 eagles one the greatest eagles teams to never win the Lombardi
The 2004 team was the best one to never win it. That and can say the same about the 2022 squad for that matter as well.
Jim Schwartz look at this Defense and take notes
michael cooper I hate Rodger godell. He has ruined this league. Paul Tagliabue was great. We need some one like him. Fuck Rodger godell.
