  • In this comparison video, we'll look at two popular flashlights, the Wuben C2, and the Sofirn SP35. This video has been requested a few times so I decided to run through the differences and which one I think is best. Which light would you grab if you had to choose one?

    There's a clear winner, in my opinion. Check out the video to find out which one you should buy. Beamshots at the end too.

    Nice video.
    I bought an SP35 about a year ago for use at work (aircraft maintenance - was working at night at the time). It’s been great. I’ve never had a situation where I needed more light, and all the guys who carry large Streamlights are impressed with how bright it is for its compact size.
    The only small complaint I have about the flashlight is that the switch is so smooth that it blends in and is hard to find in the dark by touch. The new SP35T solves this problem by adding a tail switch, but of course that increases overall length. The SP35T also uses different LEDs (choice of XHP-50 or SFN-43), and apparently doesn’t throw quite as far).
    I do think the SP35 is a great value; not many lights at this price point offer a constant-current buck driver (did you mention this in your video?).
    Anyway, I’ve watched a couple of your videos. You’re doing a great job. Just a bit of constructive criticism - I do think you could have cut this video down a bit. 30 minutes is pretty lengthy.
    I subscribed!

      Hi John, thanks the taking the time to write such a detailed comment. I agree in that the SP35 is great value if you consider the specs with other similar lights (which are more expensive). I heard the SP35T has heat issues with the SFT43. Seems the case with many small lights using this LED. Have you tried the IF22a? That's one of my favourite Sofirn lights.. has great throw.
      Yes, I think you're right - I need to make these videos shorter but somehow end up talking for longer than intended. I'll aim to make the next ones snappier. Cheers.

      @@DarrenYeoYT That’s interesting about the SFT-43. I’m not familiar with that LED.
      I haven’t tried the IF22A. I did get my wife an FC12 (in purple - her favorite color) for her birthday last January, and it’s a great little thrower.
      I also have the IF25A in 4000K. One of my favorite lights. I really like the tint.

      The FC12 is one of my favourite EDC throwers. I have lights that throw a lot further but I end up grabbing that one on the way out, just easier to pocket. I was thinking to add an NM1 emitter in mine to increase the throw further but I think the driver would burn out the emitter. It can handle 5A and the PM1 can handle 8A. Both tiny die surfaces that increases throw.
      You can increase the brightness and efficiency of the IF22a/IF25a by running a tailspring bypass! Made some video on this awhile back.

    I have become a sofirn believer!!!!! I have over 8 surefires flashlights and weapons lights for my sbrs. I never bought another brand such as streamlight or Olight even because they are approaching Surefire price with less reliability and are Chinese made. Enter the Sofirn last year, it is so cheap and at just a fifth the price of an Olight, or 1/10 of a Surefire, I decided to take a chance after seeing all the stellar reviews and comparisons. I purchased my first SP35 last year and was blown away. I now have over 9 Sofirns in a year! Most are around or under $30! Their out put ranges from 2200Lm to 5500Lm. They have great run times on a single charge. I am a Sofirn believer!!!!!

    How can the sp35 beat the c2 on practicality when the sp35 is just a light and the c2 is a light and powerbank .

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  Год назад +3

      That's a good point. I guess it depends on what you need it for? I use it as a light only.

    • @Mister_Phafanapolis
      @Mister_Phafanapolis Год назад +6

      I think the power bank function is a spec sheet warrior talking point and not something most will use frequently.

    • @wesolowskimatt
      @wesolowskimatt Год назад +4

      @@Mister_Phafanapolis I think you are absolutely right. I have C2 and I actually like this light, but whenever I think that I will need a powerbank, I just bring a dedicated one with me. The powerbank function may rescue someone in a pinch but let's be honest. How often would that happen? Almost never.

      @Cjmm007 Год назад +3

      The sp35 wins due to the constant buck driver. The best cheapest option on the market.

      @sloanNYC Год назад +3

      @@wesolowskimatt For me, the C2 goes in my camping bag with an adapter for any phone. If I get stuck in the woods the combo of long throw, strobe, and battery bank make it useful. So few lights in this price range and light output have this feature.

    Hard to tell what light is what in the beam shots. You should tell us or label them upfront. I see you did later

    I do not understand your tag line. These are 2 excellent flashlights and the C2 doubles as a power bank. Good products.

      Apart from power bank function, I prefer the SP35 if we're talking about functionality as a flashlight

    how can we identify which light are using during the beamshots testing, just add the label or even tell what light is it.

    The wuben is just too heavy and rigid for me. Also the aggressive ridges hurt my skin. I have small arms and hands and my grip strength is quite weak so the sb35 is for me. The only down side for the sb35 is that it's just a little too bright on max (it hurts my eyes). I'm scared of the dark so I have plenty of torches but the c2 is a bit of a toxic male light where as the sb is a little more for educated people.
