She was originally supposed to be Cannonball in the movie, but they changed it to a female and heard of her name and had to use it. And there we go.

I don't have any problems with changing things in other media what really annoys me is when the comics just copy the things of the movies because the movie version is more popular

Her powers in the movie are a better fit for her name.

To be fair that name never should’ve been used by a precog/reality warper. They had the right idea with the Deadpool movie powers. Or maybe that was the original characters og joke.

Strange that Fox owned the movie rights to Ego, assumed he was a Thor character, given where his 1st appearance, guess he miust have been included in the FF rights.

I liked Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the first Deadpool movie. Didn't know anything about her from the comics.
I didn't like the second Deadpool movie as much because X-Force was treated as a complete joke (yes, I know Deadpool is a comedy). Between X-Force's debut in Deadpool and the New Mutants' terrible movie, the bloom had really fallen off the rose for me with the Fox X-Men movies.
What a messy comic character origin. There doesn't seem to be any kind of creative solid ground in the modern comics. I actually find myself preferring her original character incarnation over the one in Deadpool: Mercs for Money.
She reminds me of Cassandra from the Disney Hercules cartoon series from the late 90s, the character based on the Greek mythological character. In the cartoon series, she would always see bad futures, but no one would listen to her.
Personally, for me there's too many Marvel comic characters who can seemingly do just whatever they want whenever they need to. Limitations raise the stakes and the stakes make a story interesting.
Imagine how boring Kraven's Last Hunt would've been if Spidey had the Captain Universe powers and could've just used them at will.
How characters are written overcoming limitations makes or breaks a story. Otherwise, it's like just playing Minecraft on creative mode all the time.
Thanks for another awesome dose of Haussamania 🤟😎

Exactly. Characters need to have limits, otherwise it isn't fun to read them....I had a really hard time getting into the Luke Cage Netflix series because he was bulletproof and seemed bored everytime he was in a fight. Introduce some limits or new weaponry against him. Make it interesting.
Yeah x force kind of got worked.....props to them for using actual X-force characters.....though Vanisher is a teleporter and not an Invisible dude...... humorous? Sure. But don't change a characters powers for a joke.

    “Or was she?”
Well this is a comic character made by one of the big two we’re talking about sooooo, it kind of answers itself.

Did Monster Magnet make the songs first or did they copy the comic characters? That's interesting.

Well, the reason she has different powers in the Deadpool movies vs the comics is the same reason I really dislike the Fox X-Men movies. That isn't her powers in the movies, it the powers of a character named Armor. They took the powers and then deleted the name, Asian race (to be fair, IDT they did that for racist reasons, but it should be said) and personality, gave her the name and done. And they did this all the time. They gave Wade a character named Mimic's powers in Wolverine Origins, completely changed Apocalypse's powers in X-Men Apocalypse, gave Kitty Pride Rachal Summers ability to send ppls minds back in time in X-Men Days of Future Past, gave Calisto Quicksilver's powers in X-Men Last stand and on, and on, and on. Really got on my nerves after awhile

Not to mention Stripping Vanessa's powers altogether.
Though I don't think NTW's movie powers are the same as Armor's

Negasonic Teenage Warhead was originally going to be cannonball, but they made her instead because they thought she would mesh better with Colossus.
In Deadpool 2, in earlier scripts, Vanessa was supposed to get her powers, but they scrapped it.

i know what you mean but her powers in the movie are absolutely not the same as armors, at all. more like cannonball, lika another commenter said, i always saw it as her being a "warhead" of some kind, but theres def no armor there

    • @ericwhite1942
      @ericwhite1942 2 месяца назад +1

@ttm77777 no, no it's definitely Armor. How that energy field forms around her and increases her strength and durability and it looks some much like it does in the X-Men Anime from 2011. Cannonball can fly....or tactically fall at high speeds, depending on how you look at it, I guess.

    • @leterops4262

She's not like armor. She has fire around her and runs into stuff, more like cannonball like others have said on this, armor has....armor.... like kaiju armor made of energy, who can be as big as a building. she probably exists in the movie as she is because.....it's a deadpool movie and she has a stupid name, so it's for fun
