Anyway I bought them and they were only $1,500 and they are absolutely amazing. They adjust themselves in lots of different situations and you still do have some adjustments. @@DrCliffAuD Hi Dr. Cliff, do you have any leads on when the Roger devices can be purchased? From my understanding, the Roger iN is something I can have installed to my Marvel's that will install or activate the Roger chip from within my Phonak Marvel 90s.
Doctor Cliff, AuD My audio says her Phonak rep isn’t hopeful for Marvel to become CROS capable. I’m disappointed that Phonak has for all intents and purposes, abandoned the Phonak Remote Control app used by Com Pilot II/Air CROS users. It’s amazing that a leading edge company would allow such a poorly designed app to be released and then just let it sit there for more than 3 years un-updated. Hi at 3:45 into this video you talked about the audiologist including something into the Audeo Marvel to make it work with the Roger Select, what was it again, up to now Phonak have been telling my provider that the Marvel and Select don't work with each other. Do they or don't they. I'm confused...… Please Help..... :)
Best thanks for your expert Info's. The phonak Marvel technology is obviously based on bluetooth 4.2 and not on the newest Standard Bluetooth 5.0. Do you expect a completely new Generation of hearing aids to come rapidly with significant improvements ? Update Dec.15th I just got the phonak marvel for a Test Periode. The pairing Mode ist fast and simple. The hearing aid quality is good and works efficiently in nearly all of the Daily use Situations. The audio quality for phone calls is good but the audio quality for music listening is far away from any audiophile expectation and just aceptable. For me definitively a Deal breaker.
So why doesn’t my hearing aid connect automatically to my phone..? It’s been properly paired. Even when I go to settings and select it doesn’t work. Similarly when I go to watch Netflix on my iPad. I have to go to settings to and select right ear. Overall not happy.
Do I need to take my M90s to my audiologist to do an update? I checked the MyPhonak app and it only has some capabilities you mentioned (no bass, treble adjustments, no way to save favorites, etc.).
@@DrCliffAuD Alrighty. I'll call her tomorrow and set up an appointment. Thanks for the response and for all you're doing with this channel. It's been a real help.
Hi cliff I just got phonak hearing aids , the notifications from my iPhone keep annoying me , how do I mute them ? I hear them in my hearing aids too loud thank you in advance
Hi doc, is this the only hearing aid device that you can make adjustments from an app? I have the new Open 1 and still having trouble hearing with it. I would love to make my own adjustments.
geo cape Widex Evoke hearing aids also gives you an equalizer but not all the other things shown in the new Phonak app. Ask your AuD for programs if they haven’t given you any as well.
Dr. Cliff. I recently purchased the Kirkland 9.0 hearing aids from Costco, which of course are based on the Marvel technology. However, I would assume that this video does not apply in any way to my aids .... correct?
It is said that we should not hear audio more than 80% in earphone but if we use only one of the two earbud and increase sound to 100% then is it safe?? 😐😐
Great news, they fixed some of the cons I found on the marvels, the 1 to 1 Bluetooth connectivity (my $20 Chinese headphones are able to connect to multiple devices why not a $6000 hearing aid) the app, the new Roger direct support (great) an extra the new titanium CShells, I want it! Wonder if they accept trade ins 🤔
With autosense 3.0, is there any benefit in having any of the programs loaded to the app ? If I understand correctly the autosense program selects what it believes to be the most appropriate program, so what is the benefit of loading a subset of these programs for manual selection ? Also I find the volume of the Bluetooth feed to be excellent, no adjustment needed, and the Marvels handling of radio / TV Non streamed is also excellent, however I am having to increase the volumes when in conversation, why would this be ?
Autosense, for me work most of the time, but it act weird sometimes, like when it amplifies the sound from the bar across the street, more control is welcome.
Doctor Cliff, Though this is wrong place for this comment, can you please do a review on Oticon Ponto 4, which is released a few days/weeks ago? I am probably going to try that one in a few days when the demo will be available in South Africa and will have to take a decision on fitting it. I always pay attention to your reviews on various devices as they are great and make so much sense.
I just got a Phonak Audeo Marvel M70 three days ago. Will I be able to upgrade the firmware to use the new remote features or do I have to try to exchange mine for a newer model?
Can the roger device stream the audio to the hearing aid AND another device at the same time - such as a smart phone with live transcribe on it or AVA- so you can get the benefit of both the audio direct feed to hearing aid and the audio into the device for captions .?
Thanks for this and many other videos, very informative. Question about the app, is it "MyPhonak" or "Phonak Remote" or something else (Google play list several) that will be updated with the new features? Also, maybe a future video suggestion for you, "why do ears produce wax? Ie, what's the evolutionary advantage of producing wax in ears as opposed to something else or nothing at all?" Such a pain for hearing aids :-)
Mark, what size of battery did you go with in your MR-70's? I, too, am considering the 70's for myself and have been wondering which way to go. The trial pair my audiologist has let me try have been going about 6 days on a size 312 battery. I have wondered how the size 13 would be.
Kent: The MRs I have are rechargeable version and I love them! They last over a day, and they automatically turn on and off in the case each night. No more batteries for me. :-) Also, the power-supply for the charger base runs on a USB output so I could charge these with any number of supplies (notably a big batter we travel with when overseas).
In the video about the 7 best hearing aides mentioned a firmware update to turn on the Roger transmitter on Phonak marvel hearing aides. Will this be done automatically or is it something you have to pay for? Any help would be great , thank you
We just ordered the sky marvel for my 7 year old and I am super excited after seeing all of the reviews. His class has the Phonak sound field so it would be nice to have them sync up.
I'm confused about RogerDirect. I understand a firmware update us required to enable RogerDirect. Once enabled can the Marvel hearing aid use any of the existing Roger accessories or do the Roger accessories need a firmware update as well or do you need a newer version of the Roger accessory? Having spoken with Phonak customer report I was left with the impression the currently available Roger accessories would not work with Marvel hearing aids but I can't find anything stating that fact.
Hey Roger. Roger Receivers are already built-in to all Marvel devices. After the Firmware update, you will still need to order a Roger Receiver to install the software into your Marvel devices. Once the installation is completed, your Marvel devices would be directly compatible with all Roger Accessories. There will be an additional cost for the Roger Install, but not for the Firmware upgrade to Marvel 2.0. Does this make sense?
@@stephenriley6632 That is a loaded question. It depends on if you want Roger for School FM systems or Roger for the Pen/Select/Table Mic 2? If it is for school, you will need to purchase 2 Roger X (03) receivers which can likely cost over $800 per receiver, to be uploaded into the Marvels. If you are looking to only use a Roger Pen/Select/Table Mic2, then you need to purchase the iN devices that can cost over $1,300 per device depending on where you go. However, the iN devices have the receivers already loaded into them and will activate the receivers inside of your Marvels, no need to purchase any Roger X (02) receivers. Hopefully that made sense.
@@DrCliffAuD I'm still confused Dr. Cliff. I'm interested in the Roger for the Pen/Select/Table Mic 2. Where I'm confused is in addition to these devices I need to purchase a Roger receiver as well. So what do you do with the receiver? I thought that function was included in the Marvel hearing aid and activated with the firmware.
@@ranord50 you need the software installed. The software to activate the receivers is either inside the Roger "iN" accessories, or you can purchase two Roger X receivers that hold the software.
Marvels are IP68 rated which is the highest rating you can get for a hearing aid. They withstand moisture well, but as with any piece of electronics, you still should be careful around water.
Awesome! Nice that they're doing changes to the app, which has been rather boring and having less functions compared to Widex's. RogerDirect is really cool as well!
Are there any instructions on HOW to connect 2 devices at the same time? I am trying to connect a Samsung Galaxy 10+ and my iPad. I can connect to 1, but when I try to connect to the other, it disconnect the first.
@@DrCliffAuD That is the first thing I did. It seems that it can PAIR 2 devices, but it can't automatically CONNECT from one device to the other. You have to manually connect each device as you want to use it.
So this is basically an ad for Phonak? I was looking for a review. And as a fairly young guy who has never worn hearing aids, and is trying to be discreet, is that the best that anybody can do? Those things are fucking monstrous! I'm hoping to find something about the size of a pencil eraser, does that not exist?
It definitely is but I see nothing wrong with it. Companies have been paying doctors to peddle their products for a long time. This is just product reveal not even review. He never says if he recommends is it just describes the new features.
My audiologist preferred the acrylic ones... and said there were pros and cons to the titanium version (though she told me I could have them). I can't recall the down-side, but I got the acrylic ones.
The downside is probably that titianium can’t be modified in the office. If it doesn’t fit right, the audiologist would need to send it back to phonak to be remade. With acrylic, it can easier be grounded down or built up in the office.
Thank you, Doc. I have tried to contact you and it looks if there is no reply yet, I design and sell OTC hearing amplifiers, and I was wondering if you can do some kind of product review for me? I hope I can offer better products to people with hearing loss in US. Looking forward to your reply.
This channel seemed like an independent resource in a market that is difficult to navigate because the main source of information and guidance are people whose job is to sell you a hearing aid. But doing a sponsored video for a hearing aid makes this channel a less independent resource for people with hearing loss.
I really wish if these hearing aids were affordable.its really difficult to buy such expensive hearing aids with every new release as it becomes daily part of my life n not an entertaining device.
These aren’t great advances. All hearing aids are crap. Yes they’re better than nothing, but never enough clarity to understand what people are actually saying. All you hear is mumbling coming from their mouths, even if you’re watching a film in a loud movie theatre, can’t understand what they’re saying. Of course, I’m referring to people with severe hearing loss (like me) that don’t want to wear hearing aids that are visible to the public. I still have to watch movies on tv or you tube videos with subtitles, despite spending $8,000.00 AUD on complete in the ear hearing aids. Supposedly the “most advanced” hearing aids on the market and the smallest in size. All a load of garbage. It’s so disappointing.

Thank you.
Sorry, no idea.
Hi Dr. Cliff,
I am going to get a pair of M70 in India. How to make sure that its Marvel 2.0?
Best thanks for your expert Info's. The phonak Marvel technology is obviously based on bluetooth 4.2 and not on the newest Standard Bluetooth 5.0. Do you expect a completely new Generation of hearing aids to come rapidly with significant improvements ?
Update Dec.15th
I just got the phonak marvel for a Test Periode.
The pairing Mode ist fast and simple. The hearing aid quality is good and works efficiently in nearly all of the Daily use Situations. The audio quality for phone calls is good but the audio quality for music listening is far away from any audiophile expectation and just aceptable. For me definitively
a Deal breaker.
Doctor.. what the difference between marvel b and the m . I search in websites but is very confused. All I found is the one is binaural something..
So why doesn’t my hearing aid connect automatically to my phone..? It’s been properly paired. Even when I go to settings and select it doesn’t work. Similarly when I go to watch Netflix on my iPad. I have to go to settings to and select right ear. Overall not happy.
So does this mean it can do cros now? I really have been waiting for it to do cros before I buy new ones.
Can firmware updates being installed remotely from remote programming or do you still have to walk in
Do I need to take my M90s to my audiologist to do an update? I checked the MyPhonak app and it only has some capabilities you mentioned (no bass, treble adjustments, no way to save favorites, etc.).
Yes, they need the firmware update in office.
Either need the streaming settings adjusted or the phone notifications adjusted in the phone settings.
Is this recommend for sever hearing loss?
i have profound to severe bass loss in my left ear and they work sweet as . I can listen to the bass players of songs i never were able to hear
@@steverliu1886 thanks so much man. Appreciate it.
Dr. Cliff. I recently purchased the Kirkland 9.0 hearing aids from Costco, which of course are based on the Marvel technology. However, I would assume that this video does not apply in any way to my aids .... correct?
Hi Jeff. No idea. You'll have to check with your Costco provider.
It is said that we should not hear audio more than 80% in earphone but if we use only one of the two earbud and increase sound to 100% then is it safe??
😐😐
No, it is likely not safe. You can still cause damage even though you are not getting the summation effect by using both earbuds.
Hi Kalyan. It will probably be a while before I can review the Ponto 4.
I just got a Phonak Audeo Marvel M70 three days ago. Will I be able to upgrade the firmware to use the new remote features or do I have to try to exchange mine for a newer model?
You can keep the devices you currently have.
@@DrCliffAuD FANTASTIC! Thanks!
Can the roger device stream the audio to the hearing aid AND another device at the same time - such as a smart phone with live transcribe on it or AVA- so you can get the benefit of both the audio direct feed to hearing aid and the audio into the device for captions .?
Not that I am aware of.
So are the telecoil models actual out yet? I keep getting told they are coming out this fall but no date has been given.
All Marvel telecoil models have officially been released.
Hi I think the phonak remote app is now end of life
Just got my first pair of aids, the phonak marvels, a few months ago. Although one has stopped working after running to my car in some light rain.
Excited to get my Phonak Audeo Marvels (MR-70 level) in a few weeks. I'm abandoning my old Costco (Rexton) aids which are out-of-date anyway.
See my other post about the MyPhonak app... which is a HUGE disappointment as it is very unstable (and the reviews prove it).
In the video about the 7 best hearing aides mentioned a firmware update to turn on the Roger transmitter on Phonak marvel hearing aides. Will this be done automatically or is it something you have to pay for? Any help would be great , thank you
You have to pay for the Roger software install.
We just ordered the sky marvel for my 7 year old and I am super excited after seeing all of the reviews. His class has the Phonak sound field so it would be nice to have them sync up.
@@lauraschofield9506 Nice choice 👍
@@DrCliffAuD , How much will the additional Roger Install costs?
The software to activate the receivers is either inside the Roger "iN" accessories, or you can purchase two Roger X receivers that hold the software.
awesome lv my phonax hearing aid another great video
What app should I installed on my Samsung phone?. There is no Phonak Marvel 2.0
You need the firmware update from your audiologist first. The app is out on the 26th.
@@DrCliffAuD Thanks Dr Cliff. Wondering what app should I install on my Samsung S8? My audiology i has no idea about it. Thanks
Dr. Cliff... Could you mention the water proof advances on phonak marvel? Greetings from Mexico.
You'll need to get the Marvel 2.0 firmware update from your hearing care professional before you will have that functionality.
@@DrCliffAuD That is the first thing I did. It seems that it can PAIR 2 devices, but it can't automatically CONNECT from one device to the other. You have to manually connect each device as you want to use it.
@@paulbosselait6688 it sounds like you dont have the right firmware yet.
@@DrCliffAuD I went to my audiologist yesterday and she updated the firmware.
@@paulbosselait6688 sorry, not sure I can help without troubleshooting it myself.
comparing to Oticon Siya 2, which one better?
The Marvel is on a completely different level.
Are these only available to USA?
No, they are available world wide.
I just got my phonak hearing aids - November 2019.
Hello, what your feedback about them ?
So this is basically an ad for Phonak? I was looking for a review. And as a fairly young guy who has never worn hearing aids, and is trying to be discreet, is that the best that anybody can do? Those things are fucking monstrous! I'm hoping to find something about the size of a pencil eraser, does that not exist?
You mention that Phonak sponsored this video....so it‘s an ad?
It definitely is but I see nothing wrong with it. Companies have been paying doctors to peddle their products for a long time. This is just product reveal not even review. He never says if he recommends is it just describes the new features.
Thanks Jinin. Less than 5% of my videos are sponsored and None of my Review videos are sponsored.
Is this an advertisement paid by phonak?
Dr. Cliff could you please comment on HCR3 hearing aids by Advanced Hearing? Thanks
Sure. Junk.
@@DrCliffAuD Thanks for your fast reply and saving me some money.
Will we still be able to cure hearing loss in the future?
Wow, I hadn’t heard that they started doing titanium earmolds
My audiologist preferred the acrylic ones... and said there were pros and cons to the titanium version (though she told me I could have them). I can't recall the down-side, but I got the acrylic ones.
The downside is probably that titianium can’t be modified in the office. If it doesn’t fit right, the audiologist would need to send it back to phonak to be remade. With acrylic, it can easier be grounded down or built up in the office.
The upside to titanium is that it’s more durable and can be made smaller and more precisely than acrylic.
But doing a sponsored video for a hearing aid makes this channel a less independent resource for people with hearing loss.

the best would be phonak b titanium for 13 bareries instead of 10 batteries
pair not connect at the same time
I really wish if these hearing aids were affordable.its really difficult to buy such expensive hearing aids with every new release as it becomes daily part of my life n not an entertaining device.
Pls and Pls.... try to talk slowly to can understand you. there is some talking other language.. thanks
