I freakin' love this. I really want to try my hand at all of this - wanted to since I was a kid - but there are just too many other responsibilities. If ever I do decide to finally purchase an airbrush and all the craziness that goes with modelling, this will be the first thing I attempt. Thank you for these videos, it seriously scratches an itch that I can never seem to scratch myself.
1:22 Notice how the instruction booklet here advertises the Sword and Launcher packs? Those were apparently planned to be made as a PG, but they never did. Bandai also never made a PG ZGMF-X10A Freedom but they skipped it and made a PG ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam instead. I'm very impressed with the LED work and the paint work you put into this. Awesome job!!
Hey Otaku Builder! I love your videos and build processes. I'm also an avid gunpla builder but I have stuck to just panel lining and top coating my kits. Do you have any recommendations as far as tools/resources/tutorials go for where someone like me can get started painting their kits? I don't know the first thing about primers and enamel thinners and stuff like that, so any guidance and pointers are greatly appreciated!
Well that's a lot of questions you're asking LOL. I don't know any RUclipsrs personally that show the process of painting a kit from start to finish( except for myself). I pretty much had to self teach myself how to properly paint model kits after building my very first perfect grade 2 years ago. But personally I feel the first step to get better at painting is learning how to do weathering. Because there's always that hesitation of buying a very expensive model kit and not messing it up by not teaching yourself the fundamentals. So I would recommend trying out Tamiya Weather Master type f and just get comfortable learning how to work around hard and soft surfaces to create that nice pre Shadow effect. Once you got that rhythm down then you're ready to get started doing custom painting.
Thanks for the reply! It's definitely hard to find builders that show detailed videos of what they're doing and I think you're the first I've actually come across. I just bought some spray paints and a weathering kit today, so I am taking the plunge!
Dang these models are absolutely beautiful, oh and one question, can you give me some advice when it comes to weathering kits. I’ve got a kotobukiya kit coming and wanted to know some tips
Are you spraying inside? If so, how effective is that spray booth? I want to get one so i can paint inside my apartment but im worried it will still stink the the place up. Thank you.
idk about other people, but i find my tamiya orange paint to be really strange, ive bought 2 pots of it and its almost like its thinned down, but its more like its splitting from the thinner within the paint
Are you thinking the tamiya with mission model to thin? How does that hold up compared to mr color thinner. Guessing that makes it slightly safer with less tone ending names in it.
I'm assuming you're referring to the paint being distorted or bubbling up? All you really need to do is just gently spray over the area really fast for the first coat. Then after it sets for about 35 minutes then apply a second coat. However there are times where that method doesn't work in the paint does In up getting distorted so I make sure I have additional painting leftover to repair or repaint those areas.
i usually let the primer dry over night, when airbrushing with tamiya paints i usually wait a few hours, unless im doing a second coat of the same colour, then i wait bout 30 minutes. you could probably get away with less time than me but i like to play it safe
In all seriousness though it has some of my favorite designs, but I just personally didnt like the show. You should check it out if you're interested, you'll know whether or not you'll like it pretty quickly.

Do you have any recommendations as far as tools/resources/tutorials go for where someone like me can get started painting their kits? e.g: 'AACH ANGEL', 'TACICAL'

What kind of weathering are you looking at my dude. Dry weathering, Prix shadowing or chipping effects?

You should do a tutorial on how you install led. You’ve inspired me to try it but don’t know where to start
how exactly does preshading work? i tried it before but i never saw any difference after painting it do anything.
Liked it!

The model thinner it's surprisingly very good. I've used it already on two perfect grades and I have not had any issues at all.
How do you get those LED's to blink on the Aile pack? Do you have a controller somewhere or is it the LED itself?
how did you manage to spray TS13 (lacquer) over tamiya X-2 acrylic?? how did you manage to pull it off without ruining the paint job? thanks

What did you use at the tip of the fins? some sort of a clear cap for the LEDs?
The kit already came with clear bits for the wings. I
Does this count as Gunpla or aircraft building?
How long the time distance between priming, pre shading, and paint the main color? Did you have to wait until the paint's dry?
i usually let the primer dry over night, when airbrushing with tamiya paints i usually wait a few hours, unless im doing a second coat of the same colour, then i wait bout 30 minutes. you could probably get away with less time than me but i like to play it safe
where can i get those flash led light? what is the name for it
Their website needs work. I can’t see the items to purchase. Some kind of glitch where I can’t see anything. On phone or computer. Please fix

Skygraysper, lols.
three dislikes so far. How come? Jealous?
Dont watch the show, just appreciate the mobile suits from afar. It's a really, reeaaally bad show

the show is not that bad as what international fans make it seem to be imo
