Professional Driver on a Closed Track.
those downshifts are crazy, dude
I’d love to see the 792p and the 787b racing against f1 cars from between 2006-2013
They would lose
Lone Rider idc it’s just about the sound
The 792p would fare MUCH better than the 787b. A more fair comparison would be 2010's LMP1 cars. The nissan gtp car from the late 80's keeps up with a 2011 lmp1 car here, extremely impressive for a 30 year old car: ruclips.net/video/uLxEgPvV6Ao/видео.html
that bump noise is badass
MAZDA, BRING BACK THE ROTARY AND DEVELOP IT INTO A RELIABLE ENGINE!!!!!!!
i thought it was a video game first
id love to see a comparison run between 792p and the 787b..!!
The 792P would mop the floor with the 787, GTP cars were nuts
It literally passed it in this video...
Wow, I just, wow.
Mazda, why employee the third spark plug technology used in this race car, RX-792P and used in the 787b race car, for the fuel economy and more clean emissions?
Yes, the third spark plug, or late trailing, was used to reduce fuel consumption. In fact, the Le Mans winning 787B used much less fuel than its competitors and its older rotary predecessors, and of course the RX-792P shares the same R26B engine. Kind of surprising that a Wankel engine gets decent fuel efficiency while racing for 24 hours lol
+Joshua Finley, Always I asked why Mazda no use that third spark plug technology for street use. Mazda tested in race and work, why not to street?
I wondered why they didn't use them on the street engines myself. Maybe it was the cost involved to manufacture a new ignition system considering how meticulous it already is. Who knows? However, I have no doubts that the third plug would've worked on the RX-7 and RX-8 and maybe older cars like the Cosmo, RX-3, etc.
i imagine that it has to do with the ems. I myself am the proud owner of a rx7 and have looked into the three spark plug upgrade. The only thing that stops me is the upgrade in ems. instead of controlling 4 spark plugs it needs to control 6, so you have to find the appropriate one with enough ignition outputs
Right. No one knows the split timing between each of the 3 plugs, except Mazda, but we do know that all 3 plugs ignite somewhere before Top Dead Center and the leading plugs always fires first. Other than that, the split difference and crank angles are anyone's guess
Quem dera a Mazda trouxesse os rotativos de volta, mesmo se for híbrido
Great idea to put those 3 series out there for a little added mayhem
Thanks for that great video,
I'm a bit surprised at the lateral g's recorded. GTP cars had massive downforce and were setup for twisty tracks so i expected higher g's. What is the reason?
It's a pretty tight track would be my bet.
Most possibly the tires aren't soft enough to provide the confidence to exploit the car and track limits.
MAZDA make a 4 rotor production for a proper send off!
