    You are sooooo amazing!! I’ve had my Q’Nique 21 for over a year and couldn’t figure out why my automation kept “skipping” (making HUGE basting stitches) on the same parts of the pattern on continuous rows. It turns out my encoders were WAY too loose and watching your video helped me fix the problem! Thank you!!

    Thank you for your suggestion. I called a tech from Grace today and an encoder is what he thought it was also and it is on its way.

    Hey Leah! Thank you for this tutorial. I just got the Grace sure stitch (blue box ones) for home machines. And the encoders are different from their original tutorial video that they shot. And I happen to stumble on to yours with the same style set up with the spring locking collars. So I wanted to say thank you thank you! I’m more of a visual learner. And this really helped! ❤️

    Thanks Leah, I was just having a problem with my stitching. I checked the encoders and tightened them and made sure there was not obstructions. so much happier at this moment. My dealer was not all that helpful, wish I was near you. I do have to say that Grace Co has been very gracious and timely when ever I have a problem.

      That's a great habit to get into. It's so easy for a little bit of thread or something to get wrapped around the wheel. Check them and keep the tracks clean and your machine will stitch smoothly every day!

    I finally put my encoders on today after having my frame and machine for a 1 1/2 years. I don't know why it took me so long. I think it took me a whole 10 minutes at most to do it!!. I'm excited to see how it works.

    Thank you so much! I got my 15PRO machine last weekend and it was a struggle finding information since I have an older Gracie Queen frame (single rail) to make sure I had installed the encoders correctly. The video that I found on Qnique Quilter by The Grace Company
    only showed the double rail/wheel installation (as did the instruction manual). I found your video today and realized that I had the back encoder's lock collar upside down (at 6 instead of 12). Fixed that and woot! the stitches aren't skipping anymore!

    I am using a singer XL400 embroidry machine on my new Cutie frame I did not get any encoders Do they come extra Do you have to pay for them?

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  3 года назад

      No, encoders or a stitch regulator are not included with any of our frames. In this case I'm attaching encoders for the Qnique 15R and Qnique 21 longarms - both machines come with a stitch regulator and encoders. Unfortunately your Singer is not compatible with our Sure Stitch Regulator so you'll need to use your foot pedal to operate the speed of your machine.

    Leah, I have a Qnique 15r and I am having trouble with the side to side stitches. The up and down stitches are good but the machine makes long stitches from side to side. I have followed all the troublemaking tips I can find on line and in the book. Can you help me?

    • @LeahDay

      It sounds like the encoder on your bottom carriage has gone out. I'd contact your dealer or Grace Company for a replacement.

    Very helpful, thank you Leah! I am close to purchasing a 15 with the Q-Zone Hoop Frame, as soon as I make enough space for the setup. Have the directions in front of me right now for setting up the machine and they are pretty clear, but do not mention that part about the raised collar on the upper wheel. So I'm glad I saw this!

    Thank you so much for the video. Do you know if this process is the same for the original Q’nique? I purchased one several years ago that my husband tried to put together but it has never worked right. I was so frustrated with it I bought a different brand from a dealer 1 1/2 hours away so I would have product support. But, I would like to get my original machine up and running so I can free motion charity quilts on it which will free up my other machine for my computerized customer quilts. With your video, I can try to redo the encoders to see if they work and if not purchase a new set. Love all your videos! Thanks again for doing this one. And yes, I have a big house so both systems are set up right now.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  5 лет назад

      Yes, the process should be identical because I'm attaching the encoders to a Qnique 14+. The 15R is the same machine so it will also be the same. I hope you can get it set up! It's a shame to let a machine and frame sit idle!

    How do I turn the sure stich elite regulator off

    • @LeahDay

      I'd check the manual! I haven't attached this particular regulator to my home machine yet, so I'm not sure on the mechanics.

    Thank you for this video. One question have noticed on the upper encoder that the piece of metal with set screw does not stay at the 12 o'clock position when tried to tighten the set screw it is as tight as it can be. Do I have to replace the encoder if so how do I order a new encoder. I have noted some skipped stitches I have been turning the piece up to 12 o'clock but it will slowly move down 9 o'clock.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  5 лет назад

      I would contact Grace Company for a new encoder. It sounds like something is faulty in the screw. It shouldn't be moving once you screw in the small screw at the top.

    I have a question about the upper incoder. Mine seems as if it too close to the rail, like I am missing a washer or something. It sits too high fir the oring to make contact with the rail. I looked at the manuel and it does not show any additional part. Any advice?

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  3 года назад +1

      Make sure your wheel is attached in the correct direction. If their is a raised side, that usually goes against the machine. If you need more help, definitely contact your dealer for assistance.

    • @LeahDay

      You have to sew the end of your leader cloth and then insert the tube into the casing. It's a bit of a pain, but totally worth the effort! I now attach my quilts in 10 minutes instead of 50!

    What is the difference between the 15 R and 15 Pro?

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  3 года назад

      The Qnique 15Pro has a touchscreen monitor that is easier to navigate and a slightly faster motor.

    • @MsCassie272
      @MsCassie272 3 года назад

      @@LeahDay Thank you for the quick response. Does the 15Pro require the encoders and a stitch regulator?

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  3 года назад

      @@MsCassie272 - Yes, the Qnique 15PRO comes with encoders and a stitch regulator. So you will have to attach the encoders as shown in this video on this longarm. The only longarm we sell that doesn't have encoders is the Qnique 15M - that is a manual mode longarm meaning it only stitches at a set speed (you select this) and then you have to keep your movement of the longarm steady to maintain your stitches.
