    The Explosion Ball kinda sounds like a direct opposite of the Heal Ball, thats a cool idea

    A pretty simple pokeball that would be great to add would be a Dawn ball. it has an increased catch rate during the morning times for players who wake up early enough to use it.

      Not a bad idea, but in action, it risks to be abused thanks to clock manipulation (I don't know how to call that but like, changing the clock on your switch for example)

    explosion ball but it has a higher catch rate on pokemon that know self destruct, explosion, and final gambit. for that shiny graveler you failed to get in pokemon gold

    Really, we just need more Pokeball options. Pokeball R&D is something that's been around for decades, if not centuries, and while the Master Ball is supposed to be a miracle of engineering that can only be replicated once per Generation for whatever reason, I seriously doubt there hasn't been a massive Pokeball arms race and the Pokeballs we see are byproducts of experimentation or specialization in the field of Pokeball design and engineering.

    I actually am working on new Pokeball ideas for a DnD project and so far we have, The Jewel Ball effective against Rock and Fairy Pokemon, The Dawn Ball that's a daytime count part to the Dusk Ball , and the Relic Ball which is like the Beast Ball and is used in the story to catch Eldr Pokemon

    Building up on the Step Ball concept, I think a Solar Ball would be interesting idea. The Solar Ball will gather energy whenever you're out in the sun and therefore increase it's catchrate. I think either the Step Ball or Solar Ball could also have a caveat in that once you use one the catchrate resets, so realistically you'd only be able to use it once in battle if you want to make that most out of it.
    My only problem with the Explosion Ball is that catching a Pokémon in something that also hurts it feels like a villainous thing to do. Maybe combine it with the villain ball, integrate into the plot and only be able to get them postgame from a rogue grunt willing to sell them to you.

    • @TheRealMaruki
      @TheRealMaruki 10 месяцев назад +1

      It shouldn't "reset" fully but only a little bit. The amount would be different depending on how long it was "charging".

    My opinions on all the balls in the video.
    Step Ball: Fun and creative idea, but I can already see that being a nightmare to actually program if you're carrying more than one that were bought at different times. And even if you did get it to work, keeping track of the individual step counts of 50 different Step Balls would also eat up memory better spent elsewhere. The only way I could see it being practical if there's a global step timer that all Step Balls are tied to regardless of when you go them, but that would just defeat the whole purpose of the gimmick after you max it out.
    Spectre Ball: Neat idea, and balls dedicated to catching different types is something I would like to see more of too.
    Roulette Ball: My favorite of the 5 ideas by far, being able to gamble on the chance of an instant catch is a really fun concept, especially as a last resort option when everything else fails. Heck, I'd probably just do it o see if I get lucky on a Pokemon I think it would look cool for.
    Evil Team Ball: I like the idea of the evil teams having their own cosmetically different PokeBall, though what I would really like to see is an ability to customize our own ball appearances like back in Gen 4 with the stickers, and the evil team being an option for that. Probably really impractical too do when you involve Pokemon Home and the like, but it could be a fun way to make catching Pokemon in regular PokeBalls more rewarding if it was limited to just those. But yeah, back on topic, the teams and even other in-game organizations having their own type of ball is a fun worldbuilding detail I love, and would definitely motivate people to start a collection of them if every team going forward had one only available in their game.
    Explosion Ball: A neat idea for a high risk ball, but I think it might go against the whole ethos of Pokemon to have a Ball capable of damaging the Pokemon it catches. Canonically the whole 'Battle a Pokemon to catch it' mechanic is you proving your worth as a trainer to the Pokemon you want to catch, and plus it just feels wrong to hurt a Pokemon with specifically what is going to be its new home. It might just be me being squeamish, but it rubs me the wrong way to let the player use a tool like that against Pokemon. But something like this could be an interesting tactic that the villain team or rival of the region does though, to differentiate their philosophy from the 'Pokemon are our friends and companions' idea that the player and the game at large is supposed to be following.
    Anyway, good ideas overall, and I'll contribute an idea of my own to make up for not loving all five ideas, so that it has the chance to go through the wringer as well.
    Regional Ball: This is a group of PokeBalls that would have a higher catch rate for Pokemon that are a regional form for the game's region. For example there could be a Paldea Ball to catch the Paldean forms of Pokemon, or a Galar Ball for Galarian forms. Really, I just think it would be cool for each region to have their own themed PokeBall designs, and this seems like a good excuse to do it while also giving a gameplay benefit a the same time.

    I love the idea of the Evil Team balls, and i can see them being obtainable in the post game after the team disbands.
    Grunt: "Oh, it's *you* the brat that got the team disbanded. What am i doing? Well im trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the Team Balls. We had a lot specifically made, like, A LOT a lot. And now that the team is history, we have a massive surplus. Why dont you take a few? It's YOUR fault we're left with so much after all...!"
    [Obtained TEAM BALL x10! A PokéBall used by the Evil Team. Makes you feel naughty using one. Otherwise, it's nothing special...]
    "Back back if you want more. Need to unload these balls somehow."

    Cool video!
    “Maybe you have some Poke Ball ideas of your own.” I do, actually! They include opposite versions of some existing Poké Balls and variants of the Dream Ball (which originally was only used to catch wild Pokémon in the Entree Forest, but now is more likely to succeed when used on a sleeping Pokémon).
    Opposite balls
    *Stratum Ball- more likely to succeed the lower the Trainer’s Pokémon’s level is than the wild Pokémon’s (Opposite of the Level Ball)
    *Lightweight Ball- more likely to succeed the lighter in weight the Pokémon is (Opposite of the Heavy Ball)
    *Rival Ball- more likely to succeed against a Pokémon the same gender as the Trainer’s Pokémon (Opposite of the Love Ball/Lovey-Dovey Ball)
    *Newcomer Ball- more likely to succeed if the Pokémon hasn’t been registered in the Pokédex (Opposite of the Repeat Ball)
    *Range Ball- more likely to succeed against higher level Pokémon (Opposite of the Nest Ball)
    *Purify Ball- purifies corrupted Pokémon (opposite of the Dark Ball from Celebi: The Voice of the Forest)
    *Delight Ball- releases attractant (opposite of the Pester Ball/Reluctant Ball from Pokémon Snap)
    Dream Ball variants
    *Scorch Ball- more likely to succeed when used on a burned Pokémon
    *Chill Ball- more likely to succeed when used on a frozen Pokémon
    *Stun Ball- more likely to succeed when used on a paralyzed Pokémon
    *Bane Ball- more likely to succeed when used on a poisoned or badly poisoned Pokémon
    *Daze Ball- more likely to succeed when used on a confused Pokémon

    Frankly, I could see the enemy team ball idea being a thing of the game has a Pokémon shelter caring for pokemon that were used for ill gain by the villain team.
    The explosion ball definitely feels more inhumane and would probably be a ball you’d have to craft outside of the market. Another variant would be a ball that inflicts a status condition when the pokemon breaks out of it. It would then inject them with the equivalent healing item once caught.
    I’d also make weather or terrain balls. Like a Solar ball that works better in sunlight but also has better catch rates on Pokémon that either need a dawn or sun stone or require happiness in Daytime to evolve.
    Similar with the Cloud ball for Rain/Snow or the Desert ball for Sandstorms.

  • @WarmLillie
    @WarmLillie 10 месяцев назад

    These are fun ideas.
    For me the only issue for these step ball are the individual ball catch rate because pokeball stack too, one high count to just be reset to zero… But it use the step concept pretty well.
    The Roulette Ball sounds cool, but the issue is well the Gambling aspect and changing the game rating.
    We have friendship mechanic, and the heal ball so the explosion ball sounds fun.
    I can see an evil team having their pokemon in them to show the cruelty and even being sold. Speaking of that…
    *Lillie polishes her beast ball* Ummm… Evil Team Ball is already here. But I do like the idea of other Team having a cool cosmetic.
    The best ball from this list is the Spector Ball is the best concept ball because I like myself ghost types and a fun concept of a new home-brew experimental ghost ball.

    I wonder if the Roulette Ball could have its chances improved if you have a Pokémon with Super Luck? It'd be a fun little lore detail if nothing else

    The Cheap Ball: Sold in packs of 10 for a Pokèbuck, they've bad catch rate but make up for it in their Sheer Numbers Alone.
    Also they're brown on top and generic-plastic-grey on the bottom, like they were only half painted.

    How about a thermometer ball? It would work best on fire and ice types.

  • @brettlarch8050
    @brettlarch8050 10 месяцев назад

    Another idea:
    Type ball. If your pokemon is the same as the wild pokemon it has a higher chance. If your pokemon is dual typed and has one matching with the other, it’s a 2x. If it has both types matching, it’s 3x.

    Love all of these ideas except for the Spectre Ball, not because it's bad but only because it's a bit plain compared to the rest. But the Step Ball and [Evil Team] Ball ideas are brilliant and definitely feel like solid predictions for something Pokémon might add in Gen 10.

    Idea for a PokeBall - the Toxic Ball
    This ball has an improved catch rate against Poison Pokemon, but a non-Poison Pokemon gets poisoned by it. (If it breaks free. But also if you catch it and forget to heal.)

    Maybe after capturing the pokemon with an Explosion ball, every time said pokemon is released there is a small blast of whatever said pokemon's primary type is onto the battlefield dealing a bit of damage to all other pokemon on the field including your partner's pokemon if you are in a double battle. Could be really good or really bad situationally to get a little damage out off the block

      Although the thing I want most about Pokeballs in the games is the ability to cosmetically change the ball to another type that you have empty. I've always wanted a living dex of just Pokeball Pokemon but mythicals make that impossible.

    Here’s my idea: Magnet Ball, like a Net Ball but better:
    4x catch modifier on Electric and Steel (If a Pokémon has both of those however it’s 16x catch rate) and a 2x on Rock and Ground.

  • @thedoglovinggamer5825

  • @Ziizoe
    @Ziizoe 10 месяцев назад

    I can see explosion ball being a thing and I love the design but I know I'd hate using it, but being a pokeball matcher, something to have red/orange/fire types in is a problem I've had for a long time, just defaulting to the level ball or luxury ball which doesn't quite match. there's an over inflation of cool colored pokeballs so something with multiple warm colors would help with that a lot.
    I'd also find it interesting if you could use the explosion ball in a battle against a trainer to just explode instead of bouncing off.

    Explosion ball acts like a frag and damaged all Pokémon in play when a Pokémon caught with it is sent out. With restrictions obviously so you can’t have all 6 on your team use that and rapidly swap them out to carpetbomb
