Hey Crew, like a dummy I accidentally moved my webcam video over the trade UI area. My apologies! 😂Hopefully you can use your tracking skills during those few times. Enjoy the fun banter and game!
It's really interesting thinking about what works and what doesn't in this UI vs Colonist. I think this one probably works fine on a computer screen, but really suffers when I watch it on my phone. I can't tell the settlements and cities apart at a glance, for instance. The way it shows resources is interesting. It makes them into a generic game inventory rather than a hand of cards. Little things, like the fact that the wood is three brown logs without the dark green background, makes it visually harder to track.
the horizontal user layout isn't great imo. getting fatigued just having to scan to each player to try to compare the same data point (e.g. VPs, knights played, roads built). on colonist you can do a top down comparison because the scores are all aligned, and for some reason going top down for me is much better than left to right.
because if the content was stacked vertically it would take up very little space, but horizontally its the whole screen dont know why they dont just copy colonist
@@PioneersGamecompetitive players need clarity and efficiency of information. A lot of easy wins be done by boosting contrast of colors and tweaking sizes of icons. Put the screen in grayscale and see if it’s easy to read.
The numbers are really hard for me to read. The red font color over the reddish tan number backgrounds doesn't have much color contrast, especially with night light on my laptop making everything skew red already. Shifting closer to black over white would help sharpen them up. I'm also in the general camp of "less is more" when it comes to design, but others might like all the ornate details. Could you maybe offer a more stripped down board design via customization options with fewer distracting details on the tiles and pieces? Speaking as a viewer, not a player, so maybe these options exist already.
The UI is getting better. Would still prefer the board to be a little bigger and i don't like horizontal players, prefer that vertical. Also, are we sure the dice rolls are really random? They seemed very inconsistent.
My opinion on what could help making it watchable (at least on my phone) *The UI makes it harder to see numbers, roads, open settlements etc.. bolder numbers font, bigger numbers, bigger stroke (that's what it called in Photoshop, the black line around the ectagon) bolder black line * Having an option of background that just in the sea color, that it would match the sea color of the game
Played my first few games using Pioneers today. Didn't have voice chat, but it was a much slower game play in several areas - only being able to offer one trade at a time, no chat, and all the time given for a player to make actions - all made it inferior to Colonist in my opinion. Also not as easy to scroll up on the game history to review important details. Some nice little features, but don't think I'll be playing too much on the platform as it stands now. Hopeful for more improvements based on player feedback provided. :)
@@PioneersGameThat's good to know! Thanks for being willing to refine what you have. Your tournament feature right now is second to none imo and can really help to make you stand out 🙂
Hopefully constructive feedback :) Board is too busy... remove the workers. Colors pop well, but the grey roads kinda get blah-ed out a bit too much, especially against the ore. Emphasize the city somehow to be more distinct from settlements. Comparing road length, knights played, devs, etc is still tough in this format when they're so spread out. And this is just me, but I get confused every time I see a trade interface and who is giving/getting something... probably my own problem but no Catan UI has made it easier for my brain. Approve action on the board rather than the separate button offboard would be a QOL improvement.
Why all the empty space? Makes this game unwatchable on mobile... Feels like the player icons can go elsewhere and you they can use all the remaining space to make the board way bigger.

Yeah I'm not a fan of this UI

It is not eligible when watching from the phone, I can hardly see anything!
where does this interface show you your remaining roads, city and settlement pieces?
I like the overall UI, but the board is still so busy. Maybe instead of all the little icons on the tiles, just make it one big icon.

This looks pretty nice actually compared to the other options
Still not as easy to follow as colonist, but looks like it's improved since the last one of these I tuned in for
Hopefully constructive feedback :)

everytime I am super excited for a new game and then its on 2sheep...I watch the game on a 15inch macbook and its not too fun...
This isn't TwoSheep. TwoSheep is much easier to follow since they cleaned up the UI a few months back.

I mean UI and stuff is just a comfort, but what cannot happen is that dice algorithm, no 4s and 12 rolls 3 times? Is it supposed to be random?
Where does it show what down devs you have?
Right hand of the screen for the player. In the name tags for opponents
Does it not show resource card count estimates?
Bad to see on mobile
why does it say game time 75:53?
Really don’t like this UI.. very hard to see on the phone
Sorry, but this UI is just YUCK!
