This is the first Arkham trailer where the story actually gripped me after City and Knight. With just a short video, we're getting the dichotomy between Batman and (Lockup?) where one wants to abuse his power to rule Gotham, and one wants to try to save it. It sucks we have to get this on a limited release, but the freeflow combat, detective mode, character dialogue, and atmospheric city are all authentic Arkham even though it's fully converted to VR. I'm this weird combination of happy that this game exists and disappointed that I will never be able to play what's very likely the only true Arkham experience in a decade. That said, once you post your playthrough, I will be excited to see it.
put a quest 3 on right now and start playing some VR games with a high comfort level so you won't get motion sick when the actual game comes out. Getting VR legs is a process you get over by just playing more VR, just remember to take breaks when you feel the slightest wooziness. Also yeah, VR has come a LONG way from the Arkham VR game or the virtual boy lol. we have full 10/10 reviewed 70 hour RPG games these days on VR (asgard's wrath 2) This game will require you to have some amount of VR legs
To those still complaining, I get it. But keep this in mind; Warner Bros had no plans to continue the franchise. The developers approached THEM because WB wasn't doing a thing with it. One of their hopes for this should it succeed is to revive the series if WB sees the interest. This is all from their interviews. Unfortunately VR is too expensive for me, but this is looking decent for a VR game.
"One of their hopes for this should it succeed is to revive the series if WB sees the interest." Nah this will not happen just because a VR did okay on only 1 platform.
The only thing this will prove is that no one plays VR because VR is inferior technology...VR is something you play for an hour when you're bored or when your little cousin comes over...dont make excuses for this...I don't care if the devs only make VR titles...they market this as an Arkham game? I judge it like an Arkham game...and based off of what I see...this is a shitty Arkham game
Yeah, it makes too much sense, doesn't it? On one hand, it's Troy Baker and he voices [too] many characters so he doesn't have to voice the Joker. On the other hand, it's the Arkhamverse, and Joker has been involved in some way in all of them (except for the awful Suicide Squad game). Plus, apparently, Rat Catcher is not the Rat King... so who else?

If you really want to play this game, I'd recommend playing some simpler titles like Job Simulator or I Expect You To Die to get your brain and body used to it (and absolutely do not try Iron Man first lmao). Of course it's different for everyone, but most of the time just easing yourself into the system will help with the issues you explained (especially since modern headsets like the Quest 3 and PSVR2 are far better built to avoid nausea and other problems than the heap of shit the virtual boy was). Cinematic trailers dont impress me anymore but now that see a gameplay feeling slightly interested. Right now a decent arkham game has to be above Gotham Knights and SSKTJL which isnt a high bar.
I just can't shake the vibe that it's a game that requires an additional $500 of equipment. When you buy a console like an XBox or Playstation, it's like an investment. You buy it expecting to buy a lot more games exclusive to that system aside from that one flagship game. I bought the Valve Index 4 years ago for more than $1000 and it was great for like 2-3 games... then it ended-up in a box, like a permanent feature of my apartment, a permanent shameful reminder of something I thought was going to change everything... but really didn't. There aren't that many worthwhile VR games that can stand side-by-side with Half-Life:Alyx. I'm sure BatmanArkhamVideos will be there to make commentary-less recordings of the full game.
What are you talking about?. Quest 3 cost 499$ and in October you will have quest 3s cheaper than that (probably 299$). You don’t need anything else to run the game. Is a standalone game. No need a pc or a console to run.
@@sayayindark Yes, you're right, I confused the price of the Meta Quest 3 with the current price of the Valve Index, and so I've edited my OP accordingly. Everything else I wrote stands, and I don't see how it's relevant to point out that the Quest 3 doesn't need a PC or console to run. It's still an relatively big investment one has to justify to play what will likely be a couple of games at most. How many games do you expect to play on that system? In a few years, we'll start to hear about the Meta Quest 4 or some similar shit, and the 3 will end-up in a box, just like the Valve Index. It's stupidly short-sighted of Facebook to make this game an exclusivity for the Quest 3. In a world where a large % of the population will get motion sickness when barely approaching VR, they should be making sure that VR games are as available as possible, on as many VR systems as possible, to reach as many of the rest of the population as possible.
You need to buy additional hardware for every single game in existence, either a whole console, a computer or in this case a VR headset. You mention it's an investment to buy a console, seems like you invested pretty shitty then since you only played Half Life Alyx. There's plenty of good VR games out today, and it's not like you would reason the same way with anything else, that you can only play the games that can stand side-by-side with the most advanced game for that console?
@@kottekanin4006 I did not only play Half-Life : Alyx, but in terms of investment, compared to a PC? Like I said : _"There aren't that many worthwhile VR games that can stand side-by-side with Half-Life:Alyx"._ *I did not write* _"There is only Half-Life:Alyx in the VR department"._ HL:A was something of a tech demo. Most (not all) VR games tend to be kinda shitty looking. There are good ones like Boneworks, but there are far more super shitty ones like the previous Batman Arkham VR experience. You can't compare the amount of games you can play on an XBox, Playstation or a PC to what you can play on a VR system. Now if Facebook starts making exclusivities on top of that? I'm sure my Valve Index could play Arkham Shadows if Facebook hadn't been a bunch of cµnts.

Hearing why you’ve decided you hate VR is disheartening. The experiences you’ve had in the 90s and with Nintendo’s labo don’t represent what VR is today. It’s like saying you hate tv because you tried a black & white tv in the 60s.

This game looks like it has lots of potential. Now I do wish it was a flat screen video game, whether it's on PC, Xbox or PlayStation, but I'm just happy we're getting another Arkham game regardless. Hopefully this game makes enough money for another Arkham game to come out and hopefully when the next one does come out, it's going to be a console game or a PC game and not a virtual reality headset only game. I do happen to have the Metacless 3, so I will be purchasing this when it comes out in October. Holy cow, we are getting a whole bunch of good games in October, so I'm excited about that as well. But I would say that it's good 80 to 90% chance that this game will be pretty good. I don't really have any worries that this game will be horrible.

Also I personally don't like VR, My bias is very clear. Still I'd like to see this Game do better then VR norms. But only time will tell
This seems like the type of game that I would enjoy playing as a kid. But as an adult, it’s meh. I don’t play VR games. Everybody knows that if they continued the Arkham Origins story on console, it would be so much better. Since this game is specifically made for VR, they’re going to lose so much money for this. This game alone isn’t enough for me to buy VR. By the looks of it, this game is going to be just as forgettable as much as that Batman Arkham Knights VR game was. I wouldn’t be surprised if they blame the fans for not buying this like what a lot of gaming companies do these days on Twitter/X
Roger Craig Smith voiced Batman before and he did a great job I’m really sick of seeing comments like these. Yes we all loved Kevin and he’s the best no doubt, but before he passed we were lucky to get tons of other voice actors to voice Batman in projects, and did very well. Roger Craig Smith, Troy Baker, Bruce Greenwood, etc. Nobody can replace Kevin and nobody is looking to but it’s time to move forward
No it really doesn't wb expects you to waste money on something that's gonna fail again because they don't listen to fans same company that cancels every movie that tries to get made flop incoming goodbye wb games
As much as I am upset about this not being a console/pc game like how the other Arkham games were. I still think this is a step in the right direction… sure it isn’t exactly what we would’ve wanted but I think they can still make at least 2 MORE ARKHAM GAMES that take place between Origins and Asylum because there is still much more stories to tell and lore. For example, they can have Harvey becoming Two Face or the origins of Harley becoming who she is, Robin becoming Nightwing. Barbara being paralyzed and so on and so forth. They have this big time gap in the Arkham verse between Origins and Asylum they can still make more Arkham games and have it be on console/pc
if you hate it then why do you want it on consoles? and how are you still unable to understand the fact that this was only made for the sole purpose of being a vr game. there were never plans to make this as a flatscreen game. if they hadn't made this, there wouldn't have been another arkham game.
I'm just going to say it sucks regardless nobody asks for VR most gamers don't ask for that kind of nonsense and if they really want to people to get a VR then you make it affordable I mean it's the same issue with what took the PlayStation 5 and Xbox what Series X to sell because they were overpriced and people just like no not when there is still the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One like you know what I'm saying like this doesn't help It doesn't matter that Oh it's Batman okay that's great and all but you could have easily did that for like you could have just made like a PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X version where the game comes with it and you just seem the system that's what you really should have been doing if you really wanted people to play you get more bees with honey then you do vinegar and this was spread with vinegar and it's not going to sell well like they think it is now If it was a component to like oh you can also play it on VR but you can also play it on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X okay great fine that's great just like resident Evil 7 was wasn't seven or eight one of them two If you do something like that then sure this could have worked but to make it solely VR especially when a lot of people didn't really buy the Batman VR game anyway and you said hey metal quest 3 let's go Who talks about medical quest 3 no one talks about the medical quest stuff so as gamers and people who been asking for sequel for Arkham origins why would you purposely shoot yourself in the foot and that's the problem with WB keep making dumb decisions and expecting different results because they're not going to get the results that they want and they're going to be like I guess the Arkham franchise is kind of did you know what I mean? No it's not dead. You just made two stupid foolish ideas and instead of listening to your audience who told you what they want you double and triple down on the stupidity VR and live service really I mean if this was like maybe a computer game back in a couple of years ago sure maybe but as of next generation thing no no the first person thing just doesn't really work but if you had to go first person do it on a console PC PlayStation 5 Series X would have did lovely but no you do it on meta quest

They need to remaster Arkham Origins and bring back the multiplayer mode better than ssktjl
The Joker might be a playable character. Just a feeling.
I wish this wasnt exclusive...i have a psvr2 and with the pc adapter coming i coukd have played it no problems...except for exclusivity to the quest 3 store.
Cinematic trailers dont impress me anymore but now that see a gameplay feeling slightly interested.
Right now a decent arkham game has to be above Gotham Knights and SSKTJL which isnt a high bar.
I think they must hate money to make this a meta quest 3 exclusive
Hey Kwing do you know if they’re going to have challenge maps in addition to the main story?
I'll ask
Why hasn't he talked about the new Penguin show?
definitely buying
If you have time can you tell me what music you used in this video also game looks really fun
Nice video Bub
I'm getting it day 1, what about you Kwing?
@@goblinounoursyou can’t expect new platform I.e VR to have the same collection as consoles/pc who have been in the market for over 30yrs. Unlike 4 years ago there are many great games in VR now.
it's taking place after origins I Loved that game I beat everything on it this new game i need to play it first before I say anything the looks good so far Facebook 😧😞
I really hope Rodger gets another chance for console
If they move this over to PlayStation VR with better graphics maybe.
Still not buying a console for this
I’m going to wait until it’s not exclusive. I don’t want to enter into the Meta marketplace. I’d rather invest in other VR platforms
i still think this should have been a console game instead of vr it would have been way better if the sequel to arkham orgins wasnt vr
Great video knightwing thank you
Is canon Arkham Origins blackgate
LET THEM COOK!! 🦇🐀🔥🎮
Hi Luke are you going to play Star wars Outlaws?
Hearing why you’ve decided you hate VR is disheartening. The experiences you’ve had in the 90s and with Nintendo’s labo don’t represent what VR is today. It’s like saying you hate tv because you tried a black & white tv in the 60s.
I still don't like Black and White Tvs.
Guess we'll see it Quest can change my opinion, but you sometimes can't teach an old Dog new tricks. I'm set in my ways, probably
If you love gaming, VR is a fresh, exciting new way to play games.
This is just me personally, I'm personally excited for this. Anything is a step forward from suicide squad kills the Justice League. Now that game was actually trash and garbage.
Yes w vide that combat dont look that bad for a vr game
All the famous youtube channels blindly praising this game even though 3 months ago we all unanimously agreed this game shouldnt have been made...
Now all of a sudden its "cAnT wAiT tO pReOrDeR, and lOoKs aMaZinG"
Go ahead fellas...go and spend 500 bucks on a quest 3 and another 60 bucks on this trash...prove me wrong...tell me your going to play this for longer then like 3 hours.
The Game looks cool, but it might be Bad. I'm excited on the idea of Arkham coming back and I want it to do great. But in the back if my mind, this should've been on consoles.
Also I personally don't like VR, My bias is very clear. Still I'd like to see this Game do better then VR norms. But only time will tell
Who’s that black dude at the end of the trailer
ratcatcher
It's been awhile since I left a kwing video not depressed
❤❤❤
No thanks. I'd rather have the traditional 3rd person view like the past Arkham games. But I honestly hope people enjoy it and that it's successful.
PLAY THE GAME
I hope it comes to psvr2 or pcvr
it wont. confirmed by the developers.
Well it’s a good thing you have countless options for traditional flat games to play. Some of us will enjoy this VR game 😊
meta will make bank if they ship this with the 3s in october when it comes out at 299
hi Luke
Hi knightwing01 do you like sony pictures
Without Kevin Conroy, it's not gonna be the same.
Roger Craig Smith voiced Batman before and he did a great job
I’m really sick of seeing comments like these. Yes we all loved Kevin and he’s the best no doubt, but before he passed we were lucky to get tons of other voice actors to voice Batman in projects, and did very well. Roger Craig Smith, Troy Baker, Bruce Greenwood, etc. Nobody can replace Kevin and nobody is looking to but it’s time to move forward
hi Amber
Not happy about this game at all tbh.
No Fun No Controller and no PS and no Xbox or PC definitely not Nintendo you think that Awesome good luck
Broke
Nope this isn’t good
❤
I hate it , this should have been on consoles. And you missed the ventriloquist and Scarface in the trailer.
Ik man, but if this succeeds maybe WB will eventually make another Console game
@@vrcraydo Even so, it would not be the same people making it.
if you hate it then why do you want it on consoles? and how are you still unable to understand the fact that this was only made for the sole purpose of being a vr game. there were never plans to make this as a flatscreen game. if they hadn't made this, there wouldn't have been another arkham game.
I hate how it’s exclusive to ONE vr headset but I see why
A vr game does not fundamentally work on consoles whatsoever, what are you talking about ?
Not on console waste of a game
Looks terrible this is one batman game I'm gonna skip
Broke?
@@Battinson Just not into first person games
No the game looks good you can’t say it sucks regardless
Lol what are you on about? This game is a quest 3 exclusive and there’s nothing you can do about it. Keep playing the flatscreen Batman games if you don’t wanna play this upcoming one
This looks kinda mid and lame not gonna lie
combat does NOT look awesome. Environments look sparse and bland. Lock-up/Lyle Bolton's character design looks stupid.
Are your eyes working properly?
this is what we in the industry call copium
