@@patrickgrange3264 not at present. Not sure how to do that (I'm not very tech savvy but trying to learn). I use it as a free-standing drum machine and enjoy the fast tweakability. I think it can control (1) MIDI device.
The circuit can control two external synths with the two midi tracks. You have to connect them via midi and run the external synth audio back to the circuit audio inputs. Then you can use the circuit to play them and even use the circuit mixer and FX. Check out Gabe Miller Music on youtube, he has great circuit tracks advice. I think as long as the synth has midi it will work. Im looking for my first synth to use with my circuit, but Im also a beginner. This is my fav new addiction. :)

What a year! I’m currently rebuilding my studio and have already like 8 candidates to decide between (Hydrasynth, Matrixbrute, Deepmind 12D, Poly-D, Odyssey, Jupiter-Xm, Mfb Dominion, Blofeld; have started with the Streichfett so far). Amazing.
5 years late to this party, but I'm being offered a trade of someone else's Hydrasynth for my Prologue - and I was SO hoping you had a take on this instrument! I'm getting excited.
FYI, I thought anyone here might want to know this. I just purchased my Hydrasynth Desktop from Sweetwater, have had it only had it 3 days now. I discovered that it now ships with Presets-Patches in all 5 Banks (A B C D E). There are not any Empty Banks. Also some seemed to be differewnt than the ones I saw here and on several tutorials on RUclips. I was curious about this and contacted Ashun Sound Machines Support and they confirmed this. Anyway this Synth is incredible, with 2 more Banks of presets I am just starting to experiment with them all before I start to create my own Presets. Here is their email response: Hello, Yes we have now included 2 more banks and updated the patches as well. Please use the patch manager if you would like to arrange banks differently . You can also refer to our RUclips channel for more videos on this. Kind regards, Support
Damn, I've been quite interested in this piece of gear, but between this video and a recent upload by State Azure, I'm pretty much sold...... thanks for the upload
What are everyone's thoughts about the Hydrasynth Explorer? Am I better off springing for this one even if it's just for playung around? I'm a retired guitarist turned keyboardist. I've always been fascinated with synth and have owned a few since the 80s but never learned how to program them. I'm mostly singing and playing the piano now but kinda want to get a synth to play around with. I was considering the Roland GAIA and JD-XI until I came across this. Thanks!
very cool. a wavetable vst in a keyboard. There is NOTHING wrong with that. Touching a thing is so very underrated- you can't "connect" with a vst the same way you can with a hardware synth (except when you can). It's also very update-able via firmware (I would have to assume). I bet it will be be sub $1000 in a year. Still won't get it but damn cool.

Novation circuit tracks to be specific. Not sure about the circuit rhythm or the original circuit.
If you enjoy what I do considering supporting on www.patreon.com/bobeats so I can keep sharing a passion for music tech and synths.
New and exciting synths to review ! You lucky man..... Am I jealous? ......Oh YES !
I can't be the first one, but have you considered that your link can be also interpreted as /BobEats? Thanks for the quality videos, though :)
You have had it a while now, whats life like with it? What are the strengths and weaknesses, do you see yourself keeping it long term, I have heard the touch strip needs firmer pressure to work than most...is this true?
Gosh...just when I was settled on the Summit as my future poly, this has to drop. Can’t wait to get my hands on it and compare. This and a Matriarch would be a killer pair.
You could make a career out of just this and the Matriarch.
I'm watching this video from a safe distance in order to protect my purse. :-) Great demo, Bo. This sounds really Fresh.
That's some genuine excitement right there. Happy you got a 1st look at the Hydrasynth! 👍
If I culd afford it I'd buy it right after the first patch you played :) That got me hooked.
Love Glenn and, yeah, it's an amazing design. My trouble is, when I hear SUMMIT, I am nearly brought to tears by its RICH, stunningly gorgeous SONICS. Were it a gift, and I had a choice, I would choose SUMMIT over MOOG ONE. And I know that was a stupid statement. I'd choose MOOG ONE, sell it, then buy SUMMIT and one other nice synth. You are lucky to have this kind of job!
Dangerous Demo Bo👍🏼It’s a lush sounding synth , very nice depth and warmth to it, almost sounds analog! I would have bought it straight up if it was a 3rd of the price! (lovely sound exploration) on wanted list...
Beautiful sounds Bo, that's a great synth I love it !! Thanks for sharing !!As always you bring your video's with so much enthusiasm and professionalism. Adriaan Laurijsen from salt lake.
The first few sounds put me in the mind of the original Blade Runner, which is a great thing :)
He went Full Vangelis on the first patch!
Its 2 saw waves and some reverb, every bugger on the planet with a synth makes that patch. It's soooooooo done over and over again its unbearable
i think the point of that being the first patch when you first play is that this synth has poly aftertouch no? A la CS-80...so yeah, Vangelis :)
Me watching Behringer synths videos :
Then me watching Hydrasynth videos :
Also me checking my balance : “Fuuuu”
I have to agree with your statements, but with one addition: Me watching the Roland videos ...”Meh!... pass!”
rrocktoo LMAO exactly 😂
Alphacitrick same same lmao
my exact situation. since the Deepmind12 and the Hydrasynth are almost equally priced I am TORN man
@@rrocktoo - Roland's videos aren't great, but imo the synths sound great.
A real 2019's synth, and not a 1976's, 1979's, 1984's one as usual ..
...and this it what sound scientists were looking for... Thank you ASM...
I JUST got into making music after 30 years of living and 22 of wanting to do it. Never played an instrument but have done a lot of research into synths and you are correct. Almost all other synths are "the same" to me when I look at the options. I bought this and a Deepmind 6 because they stood out, a LOT.
Guess you missed the wave. This is an extension of YEARS of development going back to the PPG. Hello Wolfgang, what DO you think? lol
Sounds pretty cool :) Great Vid.
thank you buddy!
@GeoSynths
Would you be making a patch bank for this synth? My buying it hinges on it.
Your expression at 9:25 made me bust out laughing. Give 'em that Blue Steel Bo!
M A G N U M
@@BoBeats What are the dimensions of the hydrasynths? I can't find it anywhere
Gotta admit, darn good for a digital synth! They are getting closer to analog, no doubt.
Very cool! Thank you for such an awesome video!
another synth i fell in love with
sounds phenomenal
THANK YOU FOR PEELING THAT PLASTIC OFF
The plastic was so peel'd.
Nope. Should never come off EVER. I can't think of a good reason why, but all my gear still has the crappy screen protectors attached. I would buy into a full on phone style skin with rubber edges and clear panels for all my gear if it was available. © Bo+Ben
ben1210 As long as you are not advertising it when you are selling the synth ("still got the screen protector on") like it was some kind of added bonus... 😉
@@thomaskolb8785 Selling? Sorry I don't understand 😂😂😂
@@ben1210 What about when the corner starts to peel because you were eating that packet of greasy potato chips and didn't wash your hands properly before playing the synth? Then you press the corner down but the next day, it lifts just a little more...
God I am already creating so many ideas before ever even touching this synth, I know once I get one that I will make amazing things
Very nice and usable sounds out of the box ...... Digital or analogue? i don't know for sure but it sounds like the best of both worlds maybe.
Great introduction thanks 🙏 I am going to buy the Keyboard Version!
I got one of these. Its such a geek's synth.
really like the sounds and interface
What a year! I’m currently rebuilding my studio and have already like 8 candidates to decide between (Hydrasynth, Matrixbrute, Deepmind 12D, Poly-D, Odyssey, Jupiter-Xm, Mfb Dominion, Blofeld; have started with the Streichfett so far). Amazing.
This synth is crazy!
5 years late to this party, but I'm being offered a trade of someone else's Hydrasynth for my Prologue - and I was SO hoping you had a take on this instrument! I'm getting excited.

wow beautiful sound it would suit perfect for my next album!
Sounds Awesome!
Glädjen i din röst när du säger "Åh, you can do freeeze reverb!!" :D haha!
🤣
8:16 haha! I've got one apparently stuck in Memphis, TN (thanks Fedex!). I'd love a Bob Eat's shirt, but I don't see it on your store!
Very Nice synth...Once they come out with 61key I am in...The finished piece sounds like my Roland JD-990.
I want this Synthesizer!
Seen this featured a bunch of times now and I think that outside of the relms of Analog Synths that this Synth is defo the real deal !
It definitely sounds very good.
Sounds really good!
If just 20% of people on this planet had this man's intelligence and work ethic and passion- it would be such a better place.
This synthesizer sounds very nice
If only there was a sequencer ?
But as I understand Daniel T From Elektron has joined them , maybe expect the Hydra Sequencer with P locks 😜😜
It does have a very fully featured arpeggiator though. And the LFOs have sequencers which can also get you into that territory.
Here is their email response:
Hello,
Yes we have now included 2 more banks and updated the patches as well. Please use the patch manager if you would like to arrange banks differently .
You can also refer to our RUclips channel for more videos on this.
Kind regards,
Support
Good info. Mine was a very early unit and early firmware
Damn, I've been quite interested in this piece of gear, but between this video and a recent upload by State Azure, I'm pretty much sold...... thanks for the upload
Definitely digging the Module version form factor. Sounds great also!
It looks great!
7:09 every synth head throwing shapes with headphones on
Nice video, sounds very nice, whats your usb audio interface? Good sound, if you dont mind please.
I'm really into Retrowave, I love the sounds so far.
What a clever synth so much things and so simple to operate waow
awesome review
Holy shit this sound real nice for the price
That scream at 0:23 made me laugh my ass off
Very interesting sounds and functions. For me the most interesting new synth since many years.
That's a good synth for sure!
This thing sounds really deep, I'm hearing Tomita and Tangerine Dream and Blade Runner echoing through its electronics... awesome.
Thanks!
That was still a pretty good jam for it “not being your jam” 👍
Just got my Hydra-desktop, super happy! Iridium review/overview please (and if you could talk us out of buying it for Xmas that would be great lol)
Thanks for the demo, sounds great. How did you find the Desktop version?
Its also good! I prefer keyboard version tho as I think it works better for this design
very cool. a wavetable vst in a keyboard.
