We don’t have VS in my country but I’ve had had access to body splashes and stuff and I like them as well as the perfumes but whenever I listen to the mean girls quote “u smell like a baby prostitute” VS perfumes ALWAYS come to mind as the perfect definition.

Glossybox is pretty fantastic this year. I got it on sale for $55 and got over $55 value in the first 2 days! I am happy that I bought that one. Now VS is bad and that price is insane! However your hair looks so beautiful, shiny and healthy. Wow!

I feel like this advent calendar should have had the full size perfume as the final day. I understand wanting to start with a bang, but I'd rather have the biggest thing as the final day like a lead up instead of a let down.

If it makes the poor value of this calendar sting a little less, bombshell perfume is actually a decent alternative to bug spray. There is note in it that drives them away and you don’t have to smell like nasty traditional bug spray

You’re not wrong! I have this calendar and did the math too. My calculations were almost the exact same as yours! I was so glad I bought mine on sale and actually got somewhat of a discount on the items inside, definitely not a value at full price.
I haven’t done the math, but I wonder if they added up the prices of the full sizes to get the supposed value and then just only gave the smaller sizes away. That’s the only thing I can think of to explain how they got that number beyond just pulling it out of thin air. 😅
Nah, they charge a ridiculous amount for the travel/mini sizes compared to the full sizes. I'm in Canada, so my numbers are in CAD, but a 1.7oz of the Bombshell Intense is $80 while a rollerball of it is 0.23oz for $27. That means you're getting a little more than 13.5% of the amount for 34% the price, or in other words, paying 2.5 times more per oz for the mini size. So going off the $60 for the full size amount, each 0.25oz mini is actually "worth" $20.25. I'm sure they're doing similar math for the candles to inflate their value.

Every year I think about buying an advent calendar from somewhere but then I watch Alexandria’s videos and realise I’m better off without. Better to swap a “home made” advent calendar with a friend/loved one. There are so many boxes and bags you can buy to do it these days, you both decide on a price, and you know you’re going to get something you like, something specific to you, and you’re going to get value with all the sales that happen at Christmas time. And it’s still a surprise!

On the sephora scale of advent calendars (one being the treat calendar for the puppers and 10 being Chanel) this one is a solid 7. No stickers, no single pills, no coupons. It’s terrible but they did not reach for the prize of ‘worst of the worst.’

Quick hack, when you have a crap ton of scents that you are smelling, have a jar of coffee beans nearby (I think even an open k-cup will work lol!) Sniff between fragrances. It'll clear your sinuses so you can fully smell the individual scents. And congrats on the upcoming wedding! ❤️
This, with number one being a full bottle of perfume, is the Only advent calendar I've ever seen that I believe would work better if you opened it backwards (like a countdown, sort of like 'one more day until Christmas!' instead of going up), because getting the full bottle for the last day would be pretty cool, even if it wasn't a surprise. But, it's the only one I've ever seen that should be opened that way

I love how your puppers have grown from ambivalence about the calendar initially, to butt wiggles and jumpies at the sight of it 🥰 Warms the heart. This VS calendar in particular, is a prime example of shoving the stuff no one wants into a (pretty ugly) box with a big bow. Pat McGrath is doing the same with her Star Wars encased palette that has been on sale forever. Her outer packaging is prettier than this bottle monstrosity, but the comparison applies.

It's not honest imo but they often calculate the value based on full sized prices. My guess is that $265 is what it would cost to buy all of these products individually, in store, without access to the smaller sizes.

Bombshell is one of my favorite smells. I get so many compliments when I wear it. I don’t think it it has any floral smell… however there’s something about it that I absolutely love. I can’t wear floral or rose they both give me headaches. I love this series. They make me feel like I’m NOT missing out. 😊

I saw another RUclipsr create her own TJMaxx/Marshalls advent calendar and then she made it a giveaway. I'd love to see what you could create with a hundred dollar budget.
So I work at Victoria secret, and those little perfumes are actually the same as the rollerballs. I believe the mini perfumes she has hold more product actually at .25 fl oz and rollerballs look bigger but only hold .23 fl oz. So each of those little perfumes would usually cost 20$ just like the rollerballs.
I got this calendar during a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale so I got 2 calendars for the price of 1 and gave one to my niece so that made it a good deal for me.
I love that you have detective noir hair for investigating advent calendar crimes, and I also love that without fail you never have anything else available and wipe your makeup off with designer tissue paper
I googled the prize in the netherlands for the full time bombshell perfume and it is between 80€ and 120€ depending on the shop. I was like “okay, 50% of the price… sounds legit” and then you said 59$ and I was like “oh nooooo, VS what you doing”
I would recommend the Cheese Advent calendar, sold at Sam's Club, but as my husband and I experienced last year they recycle the same 9 cheeses over and over. Just saw that one of my relatives was sharing that Costco has a 12 day Wine Advent Calendar, would love to see that one sampled on here!!

sometimes calendars are designed to count down from 24 to 1 instead which is a little silly if there’s no mention of it anywhere!

On the sephora scale of advent calendars (one being the treat calendar for the puppers and 10 being Chanel) this one is a solid 7. No stickers, no single pills, no coupons. It’s terrible but they did not reach for the prize of ‘worst of the worst.’

Quick hack, when you have a crap ton of scents that you are smelling, have a jar of coffee beans nearby (I think even an open k-cup will work lol!) Sniff between fragrances. It'll clear your sinuses so you can fully smell the individual scents.

I love the bombshell intense. The scent will actually get deeper the longer you wear it. Not overpowering, just a little bit more.

This, with number one being a full bottle of perfume, is the Only advent calendar I've ever seen that I believe would work better if you opened it backwards (like a countdown, sort of like 'one more day until Christmas!' instead of going up), because getting the full bottle for the last day would be pretty cool, even if it wasn't a surprise. But, it's the only one I've ever seen that should be opened that way
weird choice for sure, bc everything after just looks like a disappointment lmao

ngl i love the rant and the advent calendars, but somehow i feel like the best advent calendar this year is going to be the one your dogs open. Not even mad that theirs is going to be the best, them opening it each day at the end of the vid makes me smile. :)
I love how your puppers have grown from ambivalence about the calendar initially, to butt wiggles and jumpies at the sight of it 🥰 Warms the heart. This VS calendar in particular, is a prime example of shoving the stuff no one wants into a (pretty ugly) box with a big bow. Pat McGrath is doing the same with her Star Wars encased palette that has been on sale forever. Her outer packaging is prettier than this bottle monstrosity, but the comparison applies.

Celinaspookyboo did the Swarovski one and it was horrible.
It's not honest imo but they often calculate the value based on full sized prices. My guess is that $265 is what it would cost to buy all of these products individually, in store, without access to the smaller sizes.

Oh my lord. The "value" of the calendar definitely was not there. This was so refreshing to watch. Thank you for being so honest about all of your unboxings, especially the advent calendars. So many beauty influencers are disingenuous when unboxing and pretend as if they like everything in these calendars, however you tell the truth! Much respect! Bombshell is one of my favorite smells. I get so many compliments when I wear it. I don’t think it it has any floral smell… however there’s something about it that I absolutely love. I can’t wear floral or rose they both give me headaches. I love this series. They make me feel like I’m NOT missing out. 😊

So I work at Victoria secret, and those little perfumes are actually the same as the rollerballs. I believe the mini perfumes she has hold more product actually at .25 fl oz and rollerballs look bigger but only hold .23 fl oz. So each of those little perfumes would usually cost 20$ just like the rollerballs.

I googled the prize in the netherlands for the full time bombshell perfume and it is between 80€ and 120€ depending on the shop. I was like “okay, 50% of the price… sounds legit” and then you said 59$ and I was like “oh nooooo, VS what you doing”

I would recommend the Cheese Advent calendar, sold at Sam's Club, but as my husband and I experienced last year they recycle the same 9 cheeses over and over.
