This was the most popular Saturday morning cartoon back in the 90's in my country, I was 7 years old in 1992 and my mom wake me up at 7am to introduce me to the cartoon, I was very sleepy and I didn't know the TV show but she insist and I was there for the first episode and that anime become the first anime global sensation around the world, Asia, Latin America, Italy, France, Espain, only the english countries didn't join the hype train at the time, this anime was huge, is basically the grand father of the Shonen genre and the one responsible to set the standard and "cliches" (troops?) of the genre and the merch was everywhere, something like Pokémon, Harry Potter or the Avengers, very massive at the time.

❤❤, it’s the anime that started all for me (before Naruto or dragon ball Z), I loved a lot of cartoons and anime’s but it’s the first thing I became obsessed with😂😂, the music, the armors, the dialogues, the powers, connection to the universe, the science of stuff (absolute zero, the speed of light, etc), and, I did not punch a rock but I did try punching stuff 😂😂😂😂

Fun fact : the french film director of the film Clash of Titans about greek mythology was a fan of Saint Seiya and asked the mangaka to drawfor the film.

If you watch it all the way throw you will love it. Soundtrack is banging and the characters arks are so goo.
Seiya victories feels so satisfying because most enemies beat the crap out of him.

Nueva seguidora these anime was part of my childhood alongside Dragon ball and the opening "Pegasus Fantasy" alongside "Chala head chala" are the best latin Spanish version of anime openings.

The Mexican dubbing is really, really good (despite some hilarious and also legendary mistakes) and I love it with all my heart but the Japanese vercion is better.

That's weird, if you want to react only to one time to Saint Seiya probably you should pick a more iconic moment like the house of capricorn, Run to the Corona temple, Deukalion's big flood, God warrior vs Saint, Cygnus Warrior of Ice, Dragon vs Pegasus, Shyriu vs Argol, Shaka poem, the wall of sorrow.

I’m Dominican and Puerto Rican and Oscar is Columbian and Guatemalan. We both speak and understand Spanish. We just don’t speak it that often so it’s kinda broken
This is a cheesy show, reason why it always fails in the US
Well, greek mythology is full of crying demi gods and tragedy that can sound cheesy for an average american.
I am very happy to have been born in France to discover it in 1988.
What anime could succeed in USA at that time ?
Compared to other anime at that time this was gold.

Cause in the us was watered down, censored, they cut alot of scenes and the english dub was super dumb with poor silly voice acting. Oh well your loss while we enjoy the real deal. 😂🤡

True, I've heard that there is even a US dub where they colored the blood in blue to water down the violence.,
Even Dragon Ball Z suffered the same fate with its US dub changing a lot of stuff and the music.
I've seen an american reactor watching a dub version that was pretty decent. Maybe it was a new one ? Or the english dub ?
