This is seriously your bag - when you are working with old classics you are at your very best - competent, confident and knowledgeable. New boats are fine but restoring old or older boats takes you to very high place. Good luck Lou.
Lou, not only did I enjoy your video but to my amazement noticed that she has a port shaft, strut just liked my Dad and Mom's 31 footer John Alden yawl called Symphonie!!!! ⛵️⛵️❤️
I read this and had to wonder if your mom or dad ever figured out how to get her to back to port. I think with John Alden sailing always came first. Thanks for watching!
@@BristolShipwrights Looked a little awkward and dangerous with Lou focused on making a curved cut in 4" stock w/ 10" blade wide open. I get it... I'm often guilty as well, and my first thought was you guys were just trying to catch some shade. It's done before any of us saw the video and hopefully Dawnell will be back together and afloat as she should be soon enough. I appreciate that you take the time to make these videos and share a bit of what really goes on in a boatyard. 👍
Where's Lou? Haven't seen any videos in a few months. Hope you are doing well Lou!!
Lou uses a circular saw with the same precision that a surgeon has with his scalpel. Amazing.
You two are a complete team when you work together. That is some piece of wood. Thank you for sharing this repair video.
Thanks for letting us hang out with you guys, it's a relief for what's going on in the World. Cheers
Two videos from Lou in one day - excellent :)
Lou is clearly a master of his craft.
Respect.
Lou you really know how to get the best keel out of that timber!
I have learned a lot from him even being a 40 year machinist by trade. I dig cutting wood.
That's high praise indeed when it comes from an experienced machinist. Thanks.
My arms are tired from watching this video! More, please...
I like the explanation of what comes next in the process.

Thanks Peter. There's no one better than Lou for giving new life to old boats. The sad part is that there are so few of them around now.
Thanks I thoroughly enjoy watching how you use your incredible skills and knowledge. Joe
Clearly a Master Shipwright!
That is one amazing piece of wood!

Good grief, How many wildly modified Milwaukee circsaws does Lou have?!?!
Great job guys. Only comment though I didn’t feel it was necessary to show so much sawing. But otherwise congratulations on an incredible job.

I wish I were 30 years younger I would fight to be an apprentice
❤️
Maybe move the horses a little bit farther away from those poppets so you don't have to climb over them?
Great job Lou!
We hear you Jim. Unfortunately, there's not much room to even get a truck in the parking lot. We need to get to work and finish up some projects.
