My wife Ann and I coordinated the green room for Appel Farm and these guys were great. Rhiannon and her husband came in with their young daughter who was tried and clingy for her mom. Ann had some crayons, sidewalk caulk and trinket games. What a hit Rhiannon could relax and get ready for an absolutely fabulous set. Dom he was a little harder to corral. Nicest guy in the world insisted we call bones and I had to insist he got in the golf cart so I could take him to the stage.

Most of the greats, like Chubby Wise, Paul Warren, Curly Ray Cline, Gordon Terry, Arthur Smith, and Jim Shumate, are gone. Fortunately, Giddens and Bobby Hicks are still with us.
I fell in love with Loretta Lynn 40 years ago and now I've fallen in love all over again with Giddens. Born too late for Loretta and too soon for Rhiannon - damn!

Hadn't heard of her until this evening. She was one of the performers on Boston Pops July 4th concert. I had the TV on, heard her from another room singing She's Got You. Her voice stopped me in my tracks. She followed that with Pretty Little Girl...barefoot. Spent the past hour researching her. Amazingly talented woman, pure Americana, a true original, beautiful inside and out.
This young lady is also a banjo player in a guitar player I've been listening to her for the last 3 days and lots of different videos she's doing really well and she plays a nice banjo with No frets on it from Africa
She majored in opera in college, and has an amazing classical voice, as well as doing incredible old-time stuff. She does a stunning version, in perfectly-pronounced French of Edith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose." Search for it here on RUclips; you'll be blown away.
My brother in law introduced me to her and I am hooked! I am so happy he knew I would love her!!! AMAZING God Given Talent and Beautiful at the same time. Thanks Jerry for taking the time! I am obsessed!
