birds are AMAZING!! they’re so incredibly smart. whenever i go up to by birds cage, she comes up to the cage door and waits for me to open it lol. i also have been teaching her to high five and to wave. if you ever do decide to get a bird though, you should DEFINITELY do tons and tons or research before, especially because they are very delicate and you may have some things in your house that could harm birds!

Man, these birds are really smart! Today, for the first time, my female budgie finally decided to perch on my finger. I held a small treat for her in my palm, and made it so she chouldn't reach it unless she hopped on my finger. First, she was scared of my finger and backed off. Then, slowly but surely, she inched closer and closer. Then, she saw the treat and tried extending her neck to get to it but was unsuccesful. She ran to the left of my finger and was trying to find a path to get to it. Then, she decided to finally hop on my finger. It was so cute!

Magic word is MILLET! It was so easy to train (bribe) my budgies to do whatever I wanted them to do. Nowayday they go out themselves when I open the cage and they always go back inside their cage to eat/drink/take a nap or so. Only in case I suddenly need to leave my house and can't have them unsupervised roaming around I'll lure them back in the cage with the same millet.

Thank you for this. Hoping these ideas will work. My conure loves being out of his cage, but I have to pry him out of the cage to get him out (which doesn't seem good for our relationship and can be extremely frustrating). Once he's out, he's happy and content and will play. It's like when I was a kid and didn't want to go somewhere, but had a great time anyway 😄

Man, this has been a thing for me for the past couple years. I have 2 birds. I leave the cage door open all day, but they just choose to rest in their cage, especially in the evening which I guess is normal, considering that my birds are about 7-8 years old and have became each other’s mates. The only time they ever give a peek perching on the cage door is when I’m right next to their cage, like their waiting for me or something. Well, I guess I don’t really see them in the morning, so perhaps they are roaming around during that time. Thanks for covering this!

I have a beautiful budgie that I bought a couple of days ago and I do spend some time with daily and I bought for it toys and all what it needs but I'm a full time worker and can't stay with it all day and when I come back home it's night. Is 30 min enough daily?

I have an extremely intelligent quaker parrot that let us know she would never except being in a cage because she thinks she's a little human. From the very beginning, no matter how we used to try and keep her in the cage she would always break out and fly around the house. So eventually we just gave up and put bird perches everywhere. Originally her wings weren't clipped but one day she decided to go on a field trip outside, she came home around sundown but it still gave us a heart attack so we keep her wings a little more trimmed now, she can still fly about 6 to 10 ft and has no issues getting around the house with the purchase we have everywhere. She loves following us around the house and when we're making dinner she'll sit on top of the refrigerator until we give her a strawberry or some herbs
Our little deva's name is Delilah 💚🤍

nice video ! i have 2 budjies . i have them for 1 year but i think they arent tamed enough. they get out of the cage only with treats and when they are out , they dont mind being near to me and they dont seem scared. they go in the cage alone, when they want. but sometimes they dont get out even if i give them a lot of treats. i believe that sometimes they want want to get out , but they dont know how. i will try to place a perch at the opening. Also lately , i have noticed that when i prepare the treats , they are singing and they want to eat , but when i open the door , they ignore me and they sleep ! do you know maybe what i can do for that ? also i wnat to ask another question: usually, I close the curtains from the balcony doors and not much light enters the house. maybe that's why they are sleeping when I open the door. and if I have the curtains open so that there is light, is there a chance that they won't see the glass and want to go outside and get hit ?

I have the problem of i have two budgies and they are still waaaay too scared of my because their breeder used to catch them by hand with too much brute force , and worse is that i have two of them , i work amd studie too i dont have the time to tame them everyday but i still do my best to at least spend an hour with them or at least if i get home before 6 or 6:30 (when it gets dark , i dont want to bother them when they want to sleep) and the thing is i know one of them is bored because he goes back an forth to his friend then look at my window or its food , he doesnt eat millet when its in my hand but does shily when am looking from close distance , as for the other one , he way too scared and lazy to even try eating the millet , i feel bad seeing them this depressed even tho i do sing if am far enough or not looking at them btw i got them three days ago , and am doing everything videos in yt tell me to , i dont really have toys for them so am trying to make some wood considered safe to them by google , please help me in my situation if you have any type of advice i would take it

There is a video from Salvador Budgie that shows how to earn a budgies trust. You must watch it. First of all BE PATIENT! It takes time to re-earn trust. It does not happen in a day. Second of all, DO NOT do anything that may cause you budgie to lose even more trust. Third - food. Try to give it food from your hand. Sharing food is a sign of love. Other than that, see the mentioned video.

Thank you very much. I saw that video. But like l say it is scared even if l look at it. So it's impossible to feed it .l hope l will gain it's trust .Once again thank you so much.

Hi! Just a random question.. how can we separate our budgies to tame them without chasing or grabbing them?
I'm gonna get 2 budgies soon, and I really want to be their best friend possible.
Thanks for this vid btw! 😃

Realistically what you could do is spend time with them together, back when I had budgies we bought them from a pet store and they were bonded pretty tightly so we fed them by hand every day until they trusted us enough to let us pick them up. Or you could always buy two Birds from two different stores and tame them in separate rooms before introducing them
