    I agree on the reviewing of your data. This should be integrated into the Casio app.
    Also, my biggest gripe so far is that you can only save one map offline and you have to do it from the watch itself. On top of that, you can only save one zoom level of that map. There really needs to be a way to save maps on your phone and then transfer via the app to the watch as needed.
    One other thing it needs is profiles where you can have settings for different situations. Like a "Max Battery" profile that shuts off all the ancillary stuff. It needs a night mode too. It know's what time it is and when the sun sets, it should be able to dim more at night and allow you to set it to automatically do this.

    I've contacted the Casio support, asking clearations about saving and storing your activities!
    they told me that the Activity app records stats, but once you start a new one the old is deleted.
    But they also told me that I can also record my activity with the Google Fit app, and with this save and store them.
    now, I'm a little bit confused.. do the Activity and Google Fit app communicate each other the recordings or not?
    if not (and that should be very annoying) can I run both apps together?
    hope this helped you! ;)

    Why oh why the flat tire Casio??? There is more than enough room with those massive bezels to have a fully round screen and the display driver / cable connector (as well as the oft & incorrectly blamed light sensor). It's such a bewildering design flaw that it makes you wonder how the rest of Watch is so cool. Would really like to hear the rationale behind that since it is a deal breaker for so many.

    hy Techy!!! Finally a cool video about this smartwatch!!! I'll hope to se muche more from you in the future!!!
    i have a few questions for you, please take your time to reply because i'm very interested in this watch but i misunderstand some fatures. i've already asked at casio support but maybe some answers from a real user could be better!
    I see there isn't a speaker, is there an allarm function with a beeep sound or anything else?
    do you know if are there other cardio bands wich could be paired?
    what's the difference between "battery priority" and "tracking priority"?
    while GPS activity is the monochrome display active and the recording still works in background?
    is it possible to previously load or write routes or import them so that I can follow them?
    it looks like this device will be more funny than the Fenix 5x (also cheaper) how is your own experience about tracking and mapping with theese 2 devices?
    can you explain what @Brad Simmons says with this sentence?
    "Also, my biggest gripe so far is that you can only save one map offline and you have to do it from the watch itself. On top of that, you can only save one zoom level of that map. There really needs to be a way to save maps on your phone and then transfer via the app to the watch as needed."
    thx a lot for all the infos!!!

    • @TechyAgent
      @TechyAgent  7 лет назад

      +Filippo Goffi There appears to be a small speaker on the side, I forgot to mention this. I do not know of any other cardio bands which will pair with this. Battery priority makes it so that your battery lasts longer but your GPS is not as accurate. Tracking priority Will make your battery die faster but you'll have better GPS accuracy. You can load previously saved routes and import them to the watch using a computer. Compared to the Fénix 5, I prefer the Fénix 5. It's easier to use and has a better experience all around.

    • @filippogoffi4952
      @filippogoffi4952 7 лет назад

      the one on the side it's the ABC sensor (I think) for pressure and temperature relevations.
      I don't need a speaker but just a chime that sounds as in the previous CASIO model when you set the alarm witjh snooze.

    Co do WSD-F20- to starszy model!!! Po pierwsze, bateria, wytrzymuje bez użycia systemu GPS około 32h przy połączeniu z telefonem, następnie przechodzi w tryb oszczędny i tylko wyświetlany jest ekran monochromatyczny ( przy naładowaniu baterii na poziomie 11% otrzymujemy pytanie czy zegarek ma włączyć tryb oszczędny)- inne funkcje zostają wstrzymane. Co do nawigacji to sa dwa rozwiązania, natywny oparty o GooglMaps i Mapbox oraz zew. nawigację ViewRange, która jest mało intuicyjna. W ViewRange można tworzyć punkty i trasy na stronie @t lub telefonie (aplikacja na Android) następnie synchronizować telefon i uploadować dane na zegarek. Tylko, że to działa od czasu do czasu, raz na zegarku (przy połączeniu z telefonem) odpala się trasa innym razem nie, ładowanie mapy jest długotrwałe i etapowe, czas działania zegarka spada wtedy do 7h w najlepszym pomiarze, mi przeciętnie zegarek pracował poniżej 6h (włączone funkcje smart i nawigacyjne w tym samym czasie- zegarek nadal powiadamia Cie co się dzieje w sieci i stara się sprostać wyzwaniu w postaci nawigacji) . Dodatkowo prezentacja danych takich jak trasa jest horyzontalne (trasy nie mamy przed sobą), czyli obraz przemieszcza się z lewej strony na prawą na ekranie. Jeszcze gorzej jest z nawigacją oparta o mapy OSM, która nie ładuje map a jak załaduje to po 20 minutach lub dłuższym czasie, następnie jak odpalisz nawigację to okazuje się, że ekran jest mało czytelny, 35% zajmuje system powiadamiania o punktach i czasie dotarcia- całość jest nieczytelna. Brak możliwości tworzenia punktów z możliwością uploadu, brak możliwości tworzenia tras przed wyprawą i uploadu w natywnym rozwiązaniu sprawia, że jedyne co można uzyskać to bieżąc pozycję/ położenie- wiemy na jakiej polance jesteśmy lub ulicy ale gdzie jest baza, gdzie jest hotel to ni cholery nie mamy pojęcia! Jedna funkcja działa, funkcja zapisu bieżącej pozycji z możliwością dobrania ikony (natywne rozwiązanie). Co do funkcji smart to mogę napisać same superlatywy, konfiguracja powiadomień na telefonie pozwala dobrać formę i sposób powiadamiania oraz co ma być wyświetlane, możliwość głosowego odpowiadania na SMS to genialna funkcja, wiesz kto dzwoni, nic co dzieje się w sieci Ci nie umknie, zostaniesz o tym powiadomiony. Dodatkowo masz wiele opcji doboru cyferblatu, czyli co ma i gdzie być wyświetlane, możliwości są ogromne, konfiguracja wręcz nieograniczona. Tylko czy to jest to co chcesz mieć na przykład na wyprawie w Bieszczadach lub w czasie rowerowej wyprawy do Czarnego Stawu w Niepołomickiej Puszczy, czy to jest to co Cię skłoni do zakupu tego urządzenia? Model PRO-TREK zobowiązuje a tu dostajemy smartwatcha z "niedorobionymi" funkcjami nawigacyjnymi, które nadają się na jednodniowe wyprawy do parku poza miasto i do wyprawy po znanej okolicy (bo jak nie odpali mapa to i tak się nie zgubisz)!!!
    Podsumowując: zegarek zabawka, z bardzo słabymi funkcjami nawigacyjnymi na tle konkurencji z przeciętną baterią i świetnymi funkcjami smart i zachwycającym designem.
    PRO-TREK w tej formie z "Android Wear" to ślepa uliczka!

      No ja nie wiem jak ty ale mnie zegarek trzyma 5 dni. Nie maje go na synchronizację s telefonem. Taky dlaczego. Jak idzie na trekking to uruchomie GPS. Nie maje go wloczene w domu lub w mieście. I like my Garmin Nuvi 255. Updated open source maps, color touch screen satelite time, I don't have to wear it on my wrist and get sweaty, I can just put it in my pocket... and it costs only $10 on ebay! Plus with a microSD card in it, 4gb native + 32gb of storage. About 4hrs battery life when actually on to check your time/location... otherwise, in off mode (normal) will probably hold battery charge... months, years. Plus I don't look like a dork for wearing a watch. Don't follow the crowd like a lemming, think out side the box. :-)

      +Filippo Goffi if you go to Casios FAQ on their website, they give details on how you can export this data (using Google earth and google drive). It one of the major shortcomings of the device, and one of the reasons I greatly prefer the Garmin Fénix 5. Casio makes it a huge hassle to review the data.

      when you record a track with the GPS you do it via Viewranger, or it has another app? can I see the tracks from my smartphone?
      i'm so disappointed about this, I really love this watch but I'm tring to understand if it can do all the things I need. mapping is a wonderfull feature, but it look it works tricky..
      I will use the watch most of the time as a smartwatch at work and love the military certification.
      but in the outdoors i need something reliable (mostly for mtb) that makes me reach a Trail i've made in another day or tells me where other trails are.
      can Viewrager do all this?
      Do you think that there will be updates for the Casio preinstalled apps? or any sort of update for this smartwatch?

I found the smart watch features to be rather annoying after a while, with all the vibrations, started developing phantom vibe sensations not just in the pocket but on the wrist as well, so I prefer all the sports watch features over those ... still very happy with the Vivoactive, only have to charge it every 7-10 days depending on if I use the GPS for hiking once or twice in that period, and very happy with the sports watch features, if I ever up my activity game beyond biking, hiking, and crossfit, I might upgrade the watch

    I dont get this any more with new watches, with touch screens and battery of 1 day.. cos every one got smart phone and it is way better for use cos large screen and large battery.. on watch all you need fast digital info numbers like; clock, date, alarm, barometer, temperature, altitude, moon, tide, compass, flash-light, solar charge battery, id info, small data with codes memory.. watch for me is gadet for simply and fast use(1-2-3 clicks), and not something you pair with phone and then you have to sliding look for gadgets inside watch.. this new smart watches are more like medical gadget to control bio functions

    I'm very sorry I bought this model.
    1. no sound alarm, sound buttons, reminder.
    Only vibration.
    2. Color displays in daylight are very pale and misty. I made a comparison with garmin fenix 5 x 3. The chain is from nasty material.
    4. The battery does not live for 1 month at all. Comparison with Sunto and Garmin.
    But I can not believe that there is a cassio clock without sounds !!! :(

      +Led Strip Studio Bulgaria yes, it's more of a smart watch than anything. The Fenix and Suunto lineups are better options for dedicated sports/outdoor uses

    So briefly the cons of this watch are:
    - Poor battery life
    - No heart rate sensor
    - Difficult to have activity data on your smart phone afterwards
    - Difficult to see the screen under sunlight

    It couldn’t have the outdoor person in mind, when your gps drains the battery life. What? No S.O.S. button? What? You can’t make or receive phone calls? What. I don’t have the capability to make Satellite phone calls in an emergency (god forbid if the cell towers go out due to inclement weather? What? No SIM card slot? I mean, come on!... ...This is HUGE-@$$ WATCH! Wheat? No two-way radio capability?

    Super bulky looking, no OHR, poor battery life. I don't get it. How can they put out a fitness device without a heart rate monitor?

    • @TechyAgent
      @TechyAgent  7 лет назад +2

      +John Manley Because they consider it an "outdoor gps watch" instead of a "fitness watch" and it definitely impacted their design. That's where the Fénix is a better watch because they wanted it to be both an outdoor watch AND a fitness watch.

      John Manley Thank you for clarifying this. It is an outdoor GPS smartwatch, not a multisport fitness watch.

      The Minnesota Dad. Its realy annoying if outdoor watch has a display on which you see nothing during outdoor activity
