There were just enough hints in the lyrics to at least suggest it, but I think its referring to her climb to where calli is right now, and finally having people around to discuss, well, discuss what they do.
There are three songs and a couple of things she's said that in my opinion point very, very strongly to an ex-boyfriend that she moved to Japan for.
The songs get pretty painful when you start looking at them that way. Of course that's not all they're about, but the story is there between the lines.

This is pretty much the same reaction i had, at first i was like "is this about Kiara?" but as i listened further i thought it would actually be kinda sad if it really was. This is still the song with the meaning that eludes me the most, looking forward to Calli's lyric dive.

I believe it is. It is sad, and I believe it’s exploring that emotion of sadness and isolation and how Calli’s own actions push other people away. Music doesn’t always deal with easy subjects.
It’s most likely not about Kiara and it’s about something deeper. Either way, don’t take it too seriously.

This is exactly right. Just because she's singing about being horrible to the people she loves, it doesn't mean that that's actually how she is behaving, just that she feels that way. Calli's lyrics tend to be really introspective.

My take on it is that it's not about actually Calli being abusive to Kiara (or anyone) but that she feels like that with the way she is, she might end up hurting people around her even if she doesn't want to. Like for example, if Calli's feeling really down about something she feels like she's burdening those people with her own problems, which hurts them and even though she realizes this, she can't let go of those people either cuz they are dear to her - which, in her eyes, makes her selfish. And that realization itself is a "sin" since she's not willing to make a sacrifice, that's why she'll keep hurting the people dear to her. Tbh, I think that if Calli thinks that way, that already proves that she's kind to a fault and I totally get where she's coming from, but that's ultimately what life is. We all end up hurting each other one way or another but if two people truly care for one another they can overcome it time and time again, which is also something that she is saying about Kiara in this song - that no matter how many times Calli may hurt her, she stays by her side.

Despite how the lyrics could be interpreted as Takamori thing, I think it really is about abuse and gaslighting. The title of the song. The description of someone being "nice" to you only to turn out to be "The Big Bad Wolf". Someone who hurts you then treats you well and tells you sorry only to hurt you again and again and again. (And if you know some of the songs Calli made before she was Calli). All this just.....hurts, but in a good way, to those who can relate to it.

Just because someone feels she's using and abusing you that doesn't necessary means that she's actually doing that. Calli is the type of person who feels bad about wanting something from people, reaching them, so she might be just sharing how she feels about that in hyperbolic way.

I think it's Calli saying she feels guilty for spending so many years keeping distance from Kiara as a reaper and someone that is being reaped. Now that they're close, Calli still can't get over how she used treat Kiara and is unable to reciprocate her feelings. It's about Calli feeling guilty that Kiara loves her.

Reading the lyrics I’d gather it’s Calli almost expressing her feelings of regret of how she can come off as a “bully” or standoffish to the affection others who are close try to give her (Kiara) and that it can almost come of as manipulative how she treats them, hence the line about yarn or having a friend who would “bend”... lot to dive into man it’s so good

I feel like the song is about how Calli /Perceives/ her relationship with Kiara and all those around her. We know she self-deprecating, so she probably sees how she wants to lean on Kiara, plus her Tsundere tendencies, all wrapped up after their Trip together she probably feels a bit guilty for the early Tsundere bits, and thinks of herself as a Bully.
But we know Dad is not as bad as She thinks!! lol
I really do think it is about Kiara and about how she pushes Calli to open up but Calli has pushed back against that. Not every song is positive. People/fans need to understand that music explores the negative side of things as much as it does the positive. This reaches into that struggle of not wanting to open up and people tend to just repress that fact (even myself) and tell themselves it’s not about that relationship with Kiara. Relationships are shit sometimes and from the lyrics I hear that Calli is recognizing the fact that she has pushed away/even hurt those who try to really know what is inside, especially Kiara. The song is about Calli’s actions, Calli’s mistakes, and Calli’s choices that have affected others. This is my interpretation.

I think it depends to the person listening tbh my first time looking for the lyrics I thought of Kiara (also because I saw people saying it feels like it's for her) but when I try to understand deeper my thought changes and also I kind of think the album is what calli dedicated for herself (or for deadbeats)
While it might not exactly be about Kiara specifically, I do feel like the songs about how Callie feels about friendships in general, and how somewhere inside she feels like she's just using them and taking their love for granted, even if we all know thats not how it is. Considering how much Callie tends to put out her more negative emotions onto her lyrics and paint herself as a self loathing monster, its not too hard to consider. It's those bittersweet themes that really put a unqiue feeling on all of her songs.
If she really did have Kiara on the mind when writing this, than honestly this song is probably the sweetest message you could write. Not a song about loving someone, but rather a song about how much she appreciates the people who love her, despite not loving herself.

I don’t think people should read too much into the lyrics and make a connection to Takamori I can see why people think that tho so I can’t blame them, I feel like Kiara would have said something about abuse or even Calli, they both have managers too, if something did happen everyone would already know by now, I know Calli said in a member’s Stream That it was about a relationship (I might be miss remembering so don’t quote me) and like Kiara said, it doesn’t have to be about them, it could be about others who’ve experienced this, maybe Calli had a friend who went through that, or maybe she feels like she takes friends for granted, she has expressed flaws about herself and how it affects others, or the song could be about herself at some point in her “old life”, Calli is venting though her song, i’m sure Calli will explain thoroughly during her lyric dive about the thought process, I’m sure she see people saying “it’s about Kiara”, and Calli character aside, we know Calli loves Kiara, she broken her character before, like during the karaoke with Kiara, so I do hope that this doesn’t get blown out of proportion by people, 🙏

She's definitely capable of writing songs where multiple themes and concepts are presented together.
While the song probably isnt *entirely* about Kiara, it really seems like it's at least partially connected to her.
Honestly this might be a bit more surface level than people are thinking. The lore for the characters is literally that Calli has been repeatedly killing Kiara across eternity all while Kiara treats her with nothing but the deepest affection time after time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Calli simply decided to realistically consider the implications of this and write a song from the point of view of a character in that position, and the deep feeling of guilt that might come from it. Of course, it’s likely that maybe something more real and personal seeped into it, but when considering lines like “love the me that’s killing you”, “I rip out your soul but you stick around” gotta remember that’s the canonical history for them.
Though I guess we’ll see what Calli has to say about it tonight.
I think she got caught up and swapped the intended places here. To me the song sounds like Calli regretting how much she's used Kiara in the friendship without Kiara getting what she deserves out of it. That could just be me though

I'm with Kiara, I can't understand the deep meaning behind lyrics without someone doing a lyric dive for me. In any case, the song is not really about Calli abusing people she loves but more about how she feels how she treats other people. It's not about the reality but about what Calli thinks is going on. Calli thinks she doesn't treat her loved ones fairly even if it's not really true.

I'm 99% sure it's actually about Kiara, BUT: It's about their *character* relationships, and the Myth/HoloAlternative lore that's built around them.
To me, it tells a story - a Phoenix shows up in the underworld for the first time, and obviously the Reaper's initial reaction isn't very friendly(lol), but the Phoenix keeps coming back over and over, proclaiming her love for the Reaper, and the Reaper's anger/hazing/abuse/tsun eventually changes to attachment and self-criticism of her own actions, which matches up pretty well.
The story/lore around the Reaper falling in love with the Phoenix is notably more brutal than their streamer selves and relationship, which explains a lot of why the lyrics are a lot heavier than what Kiara was thinking for what would be about her. You might remember that Calli's talked about the lore of her having been through fights with Myth Kiara in the Reaper past in the underworld, and having killed her before, but obviously streamer Kiara, obsessed bird-brain that she is, probably doesn't even remember that lmao

It never really crossed my mind that it's related to Takamori, and listening to the lyrics, it definitely isn't. It leans on Calliope Mori, that is the character's, motif of death and decay, but the content is about toxic relationships and cycles of abuse rather than anything about TakaMori which is a genuinely supportive friendship/romance.

It definitely sounds like this song is about a few things that all have one thing in common. This sounds like a melancholic song, yet somehow I relate to it even though I’m not entirely sure what it’s about, myself lol

It's clearly about the more abstracted characters of "the reaper" and "the phoenix". The reaper keeps killing the phoenix but also wants her around. But in the end she can't help but kill her again, and she recognizes that this is selfish and hates herself for it. Doesn't seem that complicated to me.
I don't think it should be applied to Calli and Kiara's actual friendship too much though. They have a way more healthy relationship than "the reaper" and "the phoenix" from the song.
