Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan | Ustad Tafo Khan | Qawwali Music from Pakistan

Two iconic musicians from the Indian sub-continent perform with each other on Pakistan Television. The late Qawwal, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (1948-1997) and Punjab Gharana's tabla maestro Ustad Altaf Hussain 'Tafo' Khan (1945- ) showcase their individual talents in this rare performance of ghazals and Punjabi songs. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is widely credited for popularising the Qawwali to International audiences. Qawwali is an ancient musical genre of the Indian subcontinent having roots in Sufism and Vedic Mantras.
