Is Switch Sports going to be good? I think so. The gameplay in returning sports adds a bit more depth to previous entries, and the new sports seem alright. But that doesn’t change the fact that there were a lot of questionable decisions made here. 7 sports at most is mediocre, lack of Miis in the marketing is head-scratching, and the free updates system just kind of sucks. I do think the game will be good. The gameplay will be fun, and I like Spocco Square a lot. There’s a lot of attention to detail in each environment that’s very easy to miss. That said, this game will reek of missed potential for a long while to come.
@Jeffrey Herman Free updates suck because all that content should be in the game at launch. Pushing it back to future updates makes the game seem unfinished, and it makes the game less appealing when it drops. Also, they’ve literally only promised one extra sport (Golf). I have no idea where you got the idea that they’ve confirmed boxing and baseball.
@Jeffrey Herman Yes I am excited for golf, but I do not want to wait that goddamn long for it. Also I did some research of my own and any additional sports apart from golf have only been confirmed in leaks, nothing official so far so don't get too excited. Also an update being labelled as "free" does not mean anything, it's still an update, which a lot of other games get, it is simply a questionable marketing practice to attract dumb consumers.

@@B0ssguy I respect your opinion, but switch sports only has 6 sports. A game from a decade ago has more sports than that and even though people can have fun with it if they want, it doesn't mean that people can't criticize it. I do agree with you on the point that people should let others enjoy what they like since my favorite game series has a lot of criticism, but when someone is making an argument you have to see their perspective too.
Your best point in the video was your retort that if you can't criticize or dread it before it comes out then neither can you praise or be excited for it. Toxic positivity is rarely peddled by those who use logic but, for those few that do, this is a great retort.
Unpopular opinion but I'm glad Miis weren't at the forefront of this game's marketing. How do you expect to sell a game in 2022 with 2008 graphics ? Miis are ugly by today's standards. The new avatars are up to date and cool. I think people need to remember the target isn't solely Wii Sports players for that game. It's also new families. Peole who were too old to buy Wii Sports but now have kids who might want Switch Sports (40-something people). Staying stuck in 2008 isn't great. If you want miis so bad, they're still on the wii. Why the need to export them to a new system and game ? I know people wanna relive their childhood really bad. Especially with the challenging years we've had but healing you're inner child and trying a new experience aren't incompatible.
@@chanley3141 I complete ly agree I would of been fine with what he was saying if he played the play test at lest. And he thought that just looking at it gave him the right to tell everyone not to get the game.
I dont really understand why you said that soccer wouldnt be playable at launch, only the shootout mode It will be, its just the legstrap wont be compatible with the main game until an update Feel like you could’ve talked about more valid things like how the shootout mode in soccer is only playable with the leg strap which messes up people who got the game digitally, rather than baseless claims riddled with nostalgia For example, yes the game has 6 sports, half of resort, but a lot of resort’s sports are very forgettable and i’d be willing to bet not many people would care if they were back. Canoeing, wakeboarding, cycling, power cruising and frisbee are not sports that people are really advocating to come back at all, and while table tennis is one of my personal favorites, it is way too similar to tennis for me to enjoy them both in the same game. They’re even more similar than badminton and tennis (which you definitely overexaggerated, btw) So that leaves baseball, boxing, basketball, archery and…i guess air sports? The latter wouldn’t work with spocco square, so i’ll exclude that. Basketball and baseball are disappointing to see gone, I won’t lie. Boxing is unfortunately replaced by chambara and archery probably isn’t the top choice for many people either. You might say “the choice would’ve been nice” for the extra sports, but you’re already complaining about badminton and tennis being “the exact same.” and if you want a game on wuhu island with more sports, there’s already a game for that. I think you just need to get used to change lol
While writing this i completely forgot about the play test argument. I don’t understand why nintendo didnt allow footage either but to say they wanted to hide the game is a CATACLYSMICALLY stupid argument. They wouldn’t have held a play test if they wanted to hide the game, lol
So from what I'm hearing from you chief is: 1) I don't like the new characters 2) I don't like the setting 3) Nintendo is giving me something now instead of something I would have to buy later and I don't like that 4) 6 sports are not enough (+badminton = tennis w/ 1 guy) 5) an old game is cheaper than a new game 6) A game that is trying to increase activity is trying to makw me wake up at a resonable time(+amagoos) The issue is that the first 2 are just your opinion about an art change and the 3rd is a bad take on a pretty good deal. 4 I don't even know if you know the difference between badminton and tennis but there are differences. Of course an old game will be cheaper than a brand new game that's how economics work. When the demand for something goes down then so will the price. Waking up earlier isn't a sin and almost every game company I can think of won't allow players to record their games during play tests i.e COD every year. I'm sorry my guy but I think this is just a really bad take but I do agree with you on the soccer thing. Other than that I will applaud you on the effort.
Just an FYI I got a chance to play this. A LOT of this was wrong. Soccer had the full game at Launch. The games have a nice balance of simplicity in learning and complex things to master. The game is $40 not $50. And the leg strap is not necessary at all. The icing on the cake is the two player online and if you make a guest mii for a friend it will save. All and all this game is definitely worth the money. Is it nostalgic like wii sports no. Could they have added more yes. At the end of the day though this game is definitely worth the price
I never played Wii Sports or Resort so I really feel left out and don't know how to really feel I'm still buying the game it looks really fun to me and yes most of it is because I never played the other games but I just want a sports game.
I feel like it’s mainly the generation that grew up with Wii sports and Wii sports resort that are the one saying it sucks. And I don’t even know if they’re really judging it on the content of the game because nearly every review I see whether it’s a RUclips video or in the comments they’re all butt hurt about how the miis aren’t the same how they don’t have all the sports added in at once. The actual games aren’t really bad, and the game overall has a lot of potential to be better. And I see how people say badminton and tennis are similar, but volleyball is a completely different set up. Too many people are saying it sucks because they’re judging it at face value.
I played it yesterday and the game was good. The only issue was that with online mode I kept getting disconnected when my internet was perfectly fine and it kept locking me out.
It’s 40 dollars not 50$, and the game looks better, I get the nostalgic thing but what about the new players, they would probably enjoy this, and there’s nothing wrong with the game and the lack of sports… that’s why they are updates bro
Personally I’m not crazy about This game, but a few of my friends are excited about this game. When we all played the switch online test we all had a lot of fun, and we couldn’t even play with each other yet! And that’s probably why I’ll cop this, just to fun some with my buddies!
I 100% agree with you on your video but look man if I choose to buy that game I would wait until the fall for the golf sport to be release/open up in the game I always use to enjoy playing the golf on the wii sports and wii sport resorts.

I bought this game yesterday night and today all day i was playing it,i love it very much,it’s very fun and exciting and the avatars are cute,i’m excited for golf even if it comes in fall, even my aunties were playing with me today, that’s how fun it is,honestly wii sports isn’t as good, the avatars looks like a plush toy,the sports in it looks like the olden days sport places,i honestly think sports game’s amazing
I think we gotta give it 6 months to see what sports are added and what they change to the game like if they implement mini games, this would make the game a lot better cuz that’s what I played a lot and never got bored of because I would always would try to beat my previous record in that mini game which never got old. For example in wii tennis, the mini game where you hit it against the wall never got old because there isn’t an end to that game unless you mess up which is always fun. If they don’t add mini games then this game will be dead in the near future
Pre ordered so…. Yeah I am not canceling the order but, I will take your criticism in mind(lightly) If its fun though, I won’t care 😅 P.S. I watched footage from the online play test from fans of Nintendo and they seemed to have had a blast with it.
1:58 Literally 7 seconds before your spectator complaint, THERE ARE SPECTATORS! You can see them near the top of the screen, looking over the railings.
It doesen’t really matter about how many sports they have. I checked on the overview trailer and they say they will add more only one of them i remember being golf. Im definitely getting this
Completely disagree with this video. Please in the future play the game and make a video after release rather than judging purely the trailer. The controls in a lot of the sports are quite different and changed from the original games. Yes they may be nostalgic but this is an updated game for a more modern console.
Dam Nintendo really did this game dirty, so much potential there were so many good game modes on Wii sports and Wii sports resort. Instead they decided they would put tennis x3, add a soccer game no one asked for and imported worse swordplay… at least they couldn’t mess up bowling… I feel sorry for the kids who will grow with this game as there ‘classic’ when compared to the originals this game is nowhere
Switch sports is not a sequel of Wii sports resort. It’s clearly a sequel of Wii sports. I haven’t gotten the game YET but I played it at my friends house and it’s great. You can still play as the miis and the new characters aren’t that bad. I like the amount of clothing and as you go you unlock more and more things. If you look at the map you see a baseball field and a dock so maybe baseball and some water sports will come out. This game looks great!
Why are you encouraging people to not make amazing memories when playing this games. Before you’ve even played the game, and ik that you said that with this logic you can’t get excited technically. But it doesn’t mean you should encourage people not to buy it
I really don't care about people like you complaining and just ruining my positiveness towards the game. My whole family is hyped about it and there is nothing that can stop us from getting it. So what if there isn't much nostalgia its just like every other Nintendo game.
Well, I don't really care, as long as i can play the sports I'm happy. Also, Mario Golf Super rush is an absolutely amazing game that I play regularly especially since they added plenty of free dlc but that's just my opinion, others can think otherwise. I guess I'm just easily pleased lol.

@@jordywordy0 Out of the 6 sports (resort has 12 btw) only 3 of them are new and out of those 2 of them are copies of tennis 😐
I don’t give a fuck what everyone says, this game is going to kick ass!
You know miis are in the game they are another customizable option
@Jeffrey Herman Free updates suck because all that content should be in the game at launch. Pushing it back to future updates makes the game seem unfinished, and it makes the game less appealing when it drops.
Also, they’ve literally only promised one extra sport (Golf). I have no idea where you got the idea that they’ve confirmed boxing and baseball.
@Jeffrey Herman
Yes I am excited for golf, but I do not want to wait that goddamn long for it.
@@zattisq3395 they probably wanted the game to come out on a certain date and thw couldn't finish all of it so it would be wanted for the updates to be free because it was already supposed to be there they just couldn't fit it in in time do that's ehy free updates don't suck
Sportsmates don’t even look that bad IMO
I think Miis look far better though
You can still use Miis on this game.
They really don’t look bad.
@@Tricky_Nick you can still use miis, a lot of your claims in this video are just because of nostalgia , and why are you going to tell other people not to buy the game cause you think its bad when you haven't even played it. this video defenitly deserves less than 30% likes more like1%
Nintendo it would have been so easy, an enlarged Wuhu island with new locations for new sports. Miis as the main theme. More than just 14 sports (sorry I mean 6 of course). And an online mode where you could travel with your friends in wuhu island.
Ok so I can respect your opinion, but you should let other people make their own opinions and not base it around your own.
Especially since he never actually played the game
@@ravkhar927 well he’s still allowed to not be excited for a game, and critique some parts that have already been shown.
@@gamerguywcello totally but my question is why would he go as far as to create an entire video telling people not to buy a game because it's bad when he himself has never played it, like if he played it and it was bad is one thing but why not just not buy it but to go out of your way to influence others to not buy it is asinine
@@ravkhar927 that’s the part I wasn’t fond of. I see it as a critique parts of the game we have seen, but don’t force your own opinion down other peoples throats.
to be honest, ruling out nostalgia points, i prefer the sport mates. the mii’s are better but only for nostalgia
You know miis are in the game they are another customizable option
I will always have my mii. Although, it didn't originate from the wii(Created on the 3ds), it will be hard to get use to these new avatars. Glad Mii will still be available. I really miss getting tags to play the streetpass games...
there are definitely many valid critisisms for this game, but that doesn't mean it's going to be bad. there's a lot of things they could've and should've done to make it better (cough miis). i played the online play test and had a lot more fun than i was expecting, so i'm gonna get the game. don’t get the game if you think you won't like it, but don’t tell people they shouldn't have fun if they have a different opinion
Thank you for the insight. I do not intend to tell people they shouldn’t have fun, I’m merely bringing up issues that might deter people from wanting the game
@@Tricky_Nick that's understandable, but i don’t think your goal should've been to deter people from getting the game. state your critisisms, try to find some positive aspects, you can say you won't get the game for the bad reasons but let the people watching make a decision instead of telling them what they should think. i think this formula would be a better way to go about these kinda videos
@@B0ssguy if people keep this attitude of pre ordering and buying unfinished games. It allows the industry to keep publishing unfinished or average games that could've been great. Making people who do buy it day one, wait months for new content is a slap in the face to them...the trend has only gotten worse with some games being just absolutely ridiculous that they were cleared to be released
@@B0ssguy I respect your opinion, but switch sports only has 6 sports. A game from a decade ago has more sports than that and even though people can have fun with it if they want, it doesn't mean that people can't criticize it. I didn't do the play test, but the game looks decent. I do agree with you on the point that people should let others enjoy what they like since my favorite game series has a lot of criticism, but when someone is making an argument you have to see their perspective too.
@@olekomega1680 i don’t think we disagree, you basically said the same thing i did lol
I feel like I’m the only one who really likes the sports mates. And Wii sports games online tend to cost 40-60 dollars nowadays.
I honestly like the sportsmates
Your best point in the video was your retort that if you can't criticize or dread it before it comes out then neither can you praise or be excited for it. Toxic positivity is rarely peddled by those who use logic but, for those few that do, this is a great retort.
👌🏻
👌🏿
bro nintendo tried to keep the miis design
Imagine not buying a game that you are looking forward too just because a random youtuber that want a bit of attention just say no because "reasons"
Then what do you call miitopia?
I played the test play and I've preordered the game and the gameplay is a lot smoother which in my opinion makes the game more fun.
I preordered to bro this shit 🔥
“Poorly designed and all look the same”
Bro did you play Wii?!?!
You mean the game where you could play as any character you could conjur up in the mii maker?

Stating the obvious: If you own Ring Fit Adventure you don't need to buy a physical copy of switch sports since they both come with a leg strap.
Active life has 2 as well (and digital). Just have to see if retailers have physical or digital on sale first. Always compare.
I bought this game last year! I love it it even has a unlock able secret Matt in the Game! You vs Matt! Just like Wii Sports!
Nice, I personally didn’t enjoy it
idfk how you made a 7 minute video reviewing a game that isn’t out based on false info and the fuckin atmosphere rather than gameplay

@@chanley3141 I complete ly agree I would of been fine with what he was saying if he played the play test at lest. And he thought that just looking at it gave him the right to tell everyone not to get the game.
All these cringey Crossing Graphics, ruined the new Pokemon games too
I dont really understand why you said that soccer wouldnt be playable at launch, only the shootout mode
It will be, its just the legstrap wont be compatible with the main game until an update
Feel like you could’ve talked about more valid things like how the shootout mode in soccer is only playable with the leg strap which messes up people who got the game digitally, rather than baseless claims riddled with nostalgia
For example, yes the game has 6 sports, half of resort, but a lot of resort’s sports are very forgettable and i’d be willing to bet not many people would care if they were back. Canoeing, wakeboarding, cycling, power cruising and frisbee are not sports that people are really advocating to come back at all, and while table tennis is one of my personal favorites, it is way too similar to tennis for me to enjoy them both in the same game. They’re even more similar than badminton and tennis (which you definitely overexaggerated, btw)
So that leaves baseball, boxing, basketball, archery and…i guess air sports? The latter wouldn’t work with spocco square, so i’ll exclude that. Basketball and baseball are disappointing to see gone, I won’t lie. Boxing is unfortunately replaced by chambara and archery probably isn’t the top choice for many people either.
You might say “the choice would’ve been nice” for the extra sports, but you’re already complaining about badminton and tennis being “the exact same.”
and if you want a game on wuhu island with more sports, there’s already a game for that.
So from what I'm hearing from you chief is:
1) I don't like the new characters
2) I don't like the setting
3) Nintendo is giving me something now instead of something I would have to buy later and I don't like that
4) 6 sports are not enough (+badminton = tennis w/ 1 guy)
5) an old game is cheaper than a new game
6) A game that is trying to increase activity is trying to makw me wake up at a resonable time(+amagoos)
The issue is that the first 2 are just your opinion about an art change and the 3rd is a bad take on a pretty good deal.
I’m really sad that Nintendo is trying to slowly get rid of mii’s
Me too!
Haha you had and start a sentence your whole argument is now trash.(joke)

I already pre-ordered it. And honestly, I can't wait to play it. I don't care if it doesn't live up to the expectations people are looking for.
Too many people are saying it sucks because they’re judging it at face value.
i grew up with the og and im loving this new game :)

Switch Sports looks good, but I have to say, Wii Sports holds a special place in my heart.

Honestly I’m super excited for this game, the Switch doesn’t have that many games I’d play with my friends and this is perfect to come after a long day of school and play honestly I don’t really care about the sportsmates and you have the option for a MII so I’m not sure why a lot are complaining I’m super stoked
I respect that
I bought this game yesterday night and today all day i was playing it,i love it very much,it’s very fun and exciting and the avatars are cute,i’m excited for golf even if it comes in fall, even my aunties were playing with me today, that’s how fun it is,honestly wii sports isn’t as good, the avatars looks like a plush toy,the sports in it looks like the olden days sport places,i honestly think sports game’s amazing
Bad opinion is bad.
I will buy it because personally I don't have a problem with it.

Completely disagree with this video. Please in the future play the game and make a video after release rather than judging purely the trailer. The controls in a lot of the sports are quite different and changed from the original games. Yes they may be nostalgic but this is an updated game for a more modern console.

Lmao you bashed a game before you even had a chance to play it. You said there wasn’t full soccer but there actually is.
I believe the play test was at weird time because it was a normal time in Japan where Nintendo is mainly in.

the only good thing about the new style of characters is that i can make a pink highlighter so everyone’s eyes can be destroyed.
Wow this is so true I hate this game now
Everyone hates the new sportsmate but you dont have to use them, they have miis
It's more of the fact that we still have to look at them
Your take is bias
