Damn how good was Camberabero's dropgoal attacking? What a marksman! So many gods of the sport in that series, I had the tour poster on my wall with all the players of both squads. What an era!
I have almost forgotten how wonderful the Mauling game was. Unfortunately the Laws have been changed just because some spectators couldn't see/understand what was happening found them boring. It's gotten to the point where ball carriers fight to go to ground in a game supposed to be played while on your feet.
They sure liked to stomp back then and no TMO to worry about. The game sure has changed in those 30 years I think for the better. Rules need to revamped to make more flow and not so many whistles. Players are so much bigger too.
Was again reminded of: What a poor defender Kirwan was, What a dirty player Loe was, What a cheat Fitzpatrick was, How often, through the years, the All Blacks got away with infringements, or cynical play without being penalised...... Now that they do, the WHOLE rugby world is at fault, except them! "World Rugby should look at this...." and "The game was spoiled by the red card....." - those are their favourite narratives these days....

I'm just going to come right out and say it. This wasn't an "untold story" at all. I've heard the story several times.

That's why the Springboks have 4 RWC"s and NZ only 2. ......The 1st RWC won by NZ, doesn't count because the SPRINGBOKS didn't play.
