I wanted to thank everyone for the kind comments and your prayers. It's much appreciated. So many of you have shared your experiences with us and offered words of encouragement for Kaleb. We truly appreciate your support. For those of you who questioned why we chose to wait on the ambulance, the Athletic Trainer provided two options: calling immediately or waiting until I arrived to make the call. As my child's parent, I possess a deep understanding of his needs and chose to be present during the ambulance's arrival, recognizing its potential to be stressful and a little frightening. Multiple reasons prompted my request for him to wait, none of which were financially driven. I wanted to be there to offer Kaleb comfort in that moment. I firmly believe that the collective decisions made by myself, Kevin, the football trainer, and all parties involved were well-considered and for the best. In hindsight, I should have clarified this more effectively on video. I feel like there have been a few comments made regarding my choice that have been very harsh & unjustified criticism during an already very stressful situation. I still feel my choice was the best, regardless of the negative opinions of others. For most of you who are regular viewers, you know our children's well-being is always our top priority. We love and respect them and will always do everything in our ability to do what's best for them.
I thank you did perfect under the surcomstances like I said in my post there is no worse feeling than to see your child go through something like that you can't prepare for something like this and I thank you all did a great job handled it to the best you could I hope he will be able to get back to playing football
@@HiddenHeightsFarm to anyone who criticize your parenting choice in this tragic accident, well they don’t have a glue how to be a parent. Kids don’t come along into our lives with an instruction manual. We learn as we go, and just hope we don’t do any permanent harm while we’re trying to figure out how to care for another human being. What we start with is Love for our child, and everything works off of that love. No one knows your child better than you, and to suggest you might have down something wrong is ridiculous . You guys are not new to parenthood, I’m sure you made the best decisions when it came to what’s best for Caleb. I’m surprised you guys held together as good as you did, I’d have been a basket case if my child was injured like Caleb was. You guys absolutely acted accordingly. Again , much love and prayers to all of you.🙏💙
God Bless YOU ALL & I WILL BE PRAYING FOR KALEB & ALL OF YOU! I have 4 grown sons & understand how horrific of a medical situation you endured! I think you both handled it perfectly! I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL & YOUR FAMILY! YOUR GREAT PEOPLE. Love, Carrie from Orange County, CA ❤🙏❤️
WOWZERS - I'm a former US Army Corpsman. It takes a lot of force to break a femur. Traction is your best option, as it relieves pressure and muscle spasms. Ketamine is no joke either. At least a joint wasn't compromised (hip or knee) nor from what you describe was the femur nerve and artery. Praise God for that. During my time, I helped treat soldiers who experienced many types of orthopedic injuries, and by far femurs are among the most difficult to manage in the field. Prayers for him and your family.
God bless you and thank you for your service to military for our democracy. My first husband was in the Air Force and he died after eight years while on active duty.💙🇺🇸🤍🇺🇸❤️
As a retired flight nurse I can tell you that femur fractures are painful. I can also tell you that he was in the very best hands possible. Praying for him for quick healing
Please let Caleb know we're all rooting for him. Healing goes fast. Make sure he does his PT as he should to keep everything strong and healthy. I'm 73 and I fell on a sidewalk, twisting my leg as I went down, and broke, straight across, tge femur right above a 30 yr old total knee replacement. They could fix mine with a plate and 9 screws. I'm doing perfectly normal, the total knee held. If an old lady can do this he should just blow my progress out of the water. We're all praying and rooting fir him. ❤
I'm so sorry this happened to your Caleb. Prayers for you Caleb that you have no more or very little pain during your recovery. Also that your recovery& that you heal quick. 🙏🙏🙏 When you start physical therapy listen to your body if what you're doing is causing pain then listen to your body. The garbage of no pain no gain is for the birds. I'll warn you that your muscles might shrink so you will have to rebuild your stamina back up & it might have to take you a little bit longer & that's okay if it does. You want to flirt with the pain but not cause severe pain. Once you talk to the DR. or the therapist again ask them about swimming in a pool. That is after your surgery wounds are completely healed & if they say yes you'll be using every muscle in your body. You can water walk by using two floaties one in each hand & also water run in the deeper water. Some places have tread mills in the pools for you to run on. There's very little or no impact while running on that kind of treadmill. You use twice as many muscles in water than you do on land because you are using core muscles to keep yourself upright when water walking & running. My son broke his leg in 6th grade football. He was a big kid (I used to have to carry his school ID & birth certificate when he first started playing in sports. Other parents or the coaches on the opposing teams would demand for me to prove his age. My son went to every game with his cast on & sat on the bench when his team played. You might be injured but you're still part of your team guy. I want to wish your team good luck in the playoffs too. 🙏🙏🙏
Ohh so sorry to hear this terrible accident and cause so much pain.Thank you for sharing such a personal family trauma. Take care and a lot prayers will be following. What's going on out there with you young farmers, this month must be for breaking bones. You must of heard about Stephanies broken arm badly broken. Brandon has turned out that he is a very good nurse maid.
As a trauma nurse my heart goes out to Kaleb. A femur break is the absolute worst break that anyone can have. My heart also goes out to you both as parents. Stay strong and keep your faith. We are all praying for your entire family.
Sorry you were injured Kaleb. Make sure you follow your doctor’s instructions so your leg heals perfectly. Long bones take awhile to heal, but are extremely important to mobility.
You just love your son to the moon and back for infinity. As parents we completely understand.. I just see 2 parents who adore and love their son... He is blessed to have you both as parents. And you're blessed to have him as a son... god bless you

Caleb's injury is one of the most painful breaks. That he was able to get off the strong pain meds, home and back to school so fast is a testament to his strength and the skill of his medical team. Kevin and Rachael please don’t apologize about anything - you and your family always come first ❤ Thoughts and prayers for Caleb that he will have a quick, safe full recovery from his leg fracture 🙏💙🫶🤞 Prayers also for your family - it must have been a scary ordeal for all of you to go through 🥺😢🙏 Take care and thanks for posting - I enjoy sharing your life on your farm 🍀💚‼️🤩
Oh my goodness Caleb. I'm so sorry to hear about your football injury. I've been watching your family's channel for over 4 years now. Which I believe that your family is my favorite channel to watch every week. Take good care of yourself! I will keep you in my prayers. Good luck. Lots of love ❤️ from me to you and your family. I can't even imagine how helpless you felt while Caleb was in so much pain and nothing was helping to relieve it. Praise God that he finally was able to get the surgery and is home. Lifting Caleb up to our merciful God to be over his complete healing and speedy recovery and will have no lingering issues from this bad break. Praying for blessings for your entire family.
I feel for Caleb. Fractured my femur 2 years ago after falling down stairs. Very painful but surgery went well and I am fortunate to have healed without complications. He is young and strong, so he will be determined and with physiotherapy I believe he will do well. Patience is the hard part.
God bless you young man. Much respect for your mom and dad and sister, this was emotional for ALL of you. I will be joining the army of prayers for a COMPLETE healing.
Hi from MN: This injury happened to our son when he was 5. He was put in traction also. He healed very well and he is 43 years old now, and no lingering after effects. Caleb is going to do great and especially in a Children’s hospital. Prayers and hugs for a speedy and painless recovery!!!!!
Well glad it was no worse than it was. Glad you found the right drs to fix him. May God help him heal completely, and you all too. Very tramatic for Mom and Dad too.

Sending prayers for a quick recovery for Kaleb
I'm praying for Caleb for healing. God bless you all.
I'm glad it wasn't any worse. God bless to a speedy recovery.
I feel for Caleb. Fractured my femur 2 years ago after falling down stairs. Very painful but surgery went well and I am fortunate to have healed without complications. He is young and strong, so he will be determined and with physiotherapy I believe he will do well. Patience is the hard part.
Best wishes for his recovery.
God bless you young man. Much respect for your mom and dad and sister, this was emotional for ALL of you. I will be joining the army of prayers for a COMPLETE healing.
