    I am in Pattaya for the weekend and I decided to take the bus rather than a taxi. It’s less convenient but cheaper, let’s weigh the pros and cons and see if the money saved is worth the inconvenience.
    Check it out.

    I had to come and see the viral 10k video you got on this channel. I thought it might have been scantily clad girls in bars but it's a bus ride! I'm disappointed! Of course, RUclips put ads in front of it! Hahaha!

      Cheers Wazza, we are climbing the RUclips gravy train. MrBeast better look out, first stop 10k views, next stop world domination. 😂😂

    done it about a dozen times. Sometimes from Ekamai, sometimes from BKK airport. Either walk to my hotel ( I travel light) and am in no hurry, or hop on a motorbike taxi, or as you did, take the group Baht bus. No rush. On long holiday or retired. Enjoy looking around

      The bus from the airport is handy enough but a lot of people don’t know there way around Bangkok especially outside of the Soi cowboy and nana areas, that’s why I thought the vid would be informative. Thanks for the comment. 👍

    I took a taxi back from Pattaya and the driver fell asleep 3 x. No joke. I was a dummy and afraid to say something. I made a noise the first 2 x to wake him up. The third time he was slowing way down and drifting into another lane. I had him pull over into a rest stop and fed him energy drinks.
    I have a driver now for 1300 baht if anyone needs one. She is very good, very punctual and has a newer Honda HRV.

    Yes good video niall, done this trip many times. I know were I'm going tho, if you're unsure best take the taxi. Always have a printed card where your staying in pattaya, to show the taxi driver if you're unsure. Great instruction niall. Don't forget you're the boss, you're paying. I'm lucky now, married a thai and her cousin is a taxi driver in Bangkok.bri and frei east Yorkshire.

      Yes cheers niall, not been to thailand for over two years now. My thai wife has a british passport now, she speaks lovely english now. Never get ripped off now....brill. except on my motorbike. Always wear a helmet, you never know. I never get a motorbike taxi now, too dangerous. Think the wife going to Thailand next February, see her family.

    Good info Niall. Another consideration is how familiar you are with where you're going. Are you confident to get off the baht bus at the right spot. I've caught PT all over Thailand, but sometimes to ensure l get to the right spot a taxi is a must.

    • @NiallThailand
      @NiallThailand  2 года назад

      Good point, We didn’t always have smartphones either, navigating your way around a country you aren’t familiar with before the days of Google maps or Google translation were fun times. If you are on holiday I recommend taxis or grab might be even better because they take you exactly where you want to go without worrying about whether the driver understood you or not. But if you are somewhat familiar with Thailand, public transport is a lot cheaper

      The baht bus from the bus station always dropped me off at the hotel I was going to. Sometimes you were the first drop sometimes the last, but everyone was dropped off at hotel..

    • @NiallThailand
      @NiallThailand  2 года назад

      @@tk4c415 they also usually drop me off at my hotel, I jumped off the baht bus early as it’s on LK Metro, I thought no point to bring everyone into the cul de sac when it’s only a short walk. I’d probably have felt differently if I had a suitcase though.

    How long from Ekkamai to Pattaya please? Is there any stop point in between so that passenger can go to toilet please? Thank you.

    • @NiallThailand
      @NiallThailand  Год назад +1

      It usually takes about 2 hours, there are no breaks on the way. The bus does stop at bang Na in Bangkok to pick up more passengers but I doubt there would be time for a bathroom stop though. Bang Na is only 20 minutes from Ekkamai, so it’s probably better to just use the bathroom at ekkamai before you leave. Good luck 👍

    When I get to pattaya do the songhows drive by the bus station?

    • @NiallThailand
      @NiallThailand  Год назад +1

      There isn’t a route (that I know of) from Pattaya central to the bus station but if you flag down a baht bus that’s empty and ask him to take you to the bus station, they probably will for 100-200 baht depending on the driver.

    • @NiallThailand

      I’m not sure, next time I’m in Ekkamai bus station I will take a look for you. I know the bus to pattaya does not stop in Sri racha. But I will check to see if there is another bus, there is one to Rayong so there might be one that goes to Sri racha too.

But I’m heading back to pattaya today and I looked around the Ekkamai bus station for a bus to Sri Racha and there is indeed a bus that goes to Sri Racha from the bus depot at Ekkamai, it costs 94 Baht each way, that is just over $3 American. Hope that this helps and isn’t too late. Happy Travels fellow passenger. 👍

    So weired Eakmai Bus Station to Pattaya Bus Station = 119฿
    but Patt Bus Sta. to soi Bua khaow = 50฿!!!!
    🧐🧐🧐🧐

    • @NiallThailand
      @NiallThailand  2 года назад

      Bus from ekkamai to pattaya can take 50 people. Bus from pattaya bus station to soi buakhao can take 8 people. 50 x 119 = 5,950 baht. 8 x 50 = 400 baht. Both are a fair price for the service provided and the labour and capital investment.

      The bus from the airport (suvarnabhumi) has 3 stops, naklua, central and jomtien. This was the bus at ekkamai in Bangkok. It drives to the northern station in Pattaya and you have to get a baht bus from there to your hotel.
