@Lighthouse in the Storm I've been a big fan of the BMT Broadway line ever since my very first subway ride on July 21, 1965 - on a shiny new R-32 N train. Even the R-68s, which are not exactly speed demons, get up to speed on that stretch.
Im just loving these RFW videos with the announcements its like i can railfan any line i want anytime even though i dont live in NY anymore looking forward to what more lines u got coming up hopefully the D line or the 3 & 5
That's awesome. I was actually supposed to move out of NYC in August but my family changed their minds last minute so I'm still here 😅 The D line I'm not able to do unfortunately because the surface of the front of the train is not smooth and makes the camera fall off. I'm doing the 3 and the extended Rocksway park shuttle

So a Subway train when they depart from there terminus stop they use the buzzer but was they continue there destination they don’t use it? How does the engineer knows when to go?
The conductor uses a key to open and close the doors. When the conductor removes the key after boarding is done it then sends a signal to the operators cab where there is a light that lights up which indicates the train is ready to move
@@morganlimes Really? What happens if it does fall? By the way, I’m planning on getting a GoPro and replicating the same view of what you did this time on my transit system WMATA. I don’t know if it’s safe for me to do it. Can you help me?

Nice! You should give it another visit since things are more normal now. Also I don't work for the MTA I just use a tool to place the camera on the train floor while standing on the platform
That was extremely good animation. Is that from photography into computer graphics ? I really liked to see the tunnel bulkheads from 19:20 to 19:30 where the original north two tunnels of the N train are closed off as we go from the north 2 tunnels to the south 2 tunnels of the 4 under this part of Canal St before the Manhattan Bridge approach. In the old days, we would have gone onto the north two tracks of the Manhattan Bridge, and the south two bridge tracks would have gone to Chambers St. When the Christie St connection was built, it took the two north bridge tracks, and now we are shuffled over to the south two bridge tracks. The old south tunnels are still behind these bulkheads, but without tracks; A little further, the Christie St IND tracks curve into them. I love track layouts, operations, routings, and history of the structures. The only thing that could have been better is a bit more ditch lights shining on the tracks in the tunnels, but I guess this is the best that it was illuminated; I could see the track layout, and exquisite tunnel details ! Aarre Peltomaa of Mississauga, Ontario
Very nice video. How did they let you put your camera right ridge just outside the train? How is the camera mounted, as it appears very secure and the images are steady and not jerky due to the track vibration?
@@morganlimes omg they’re retiring? Thank god. They better bring back the new tech trains. I don’t think the hype will live up with the R46 retirement run, there’s nothing unique about it. But the R32, it’s everyone’s favorite.
@@MTAProdigy Yup the r46 is getting retired by the new R211 trains that are coming in soon and they will most likely be going to the NQW since they got their r160s snatched for CBTC on queens BLVD lol
@@morganlimes I can’t wait for the R211! Sadly yes, all the R160s went there out of all places. I even wonder if they’re benefiting from CBTC on the queens blvd corridor. Given how slow the R line is, the R46 is meant to have them 🤣
I just used a grabber tool and placed the camera while no one was looking. Also the videos after this one, I would place the camera more forward that way it shows less of the floor
Question-- you don't get in trouble or any strange looks for placing your camera? There's nothing wrong with what you're doing, but if someone placed a device on the front of a train, I'd like to know that it'd be investigated lol
So far i havent been caught by any employee. People do look but they don't do or tell me anything. Except for one person that asked me "am I going to be in your video?" then he said "ok cool!" that guy was cool with this so I don't think people really care
The stations are too far apart: There should have been a 91st Street station (the 1 once had one), a 79th Street station, and maybe even a 68th Street station as well.
That would have been too expensive to build. In fact to save costs the 72nd street station was reduced to 2 tracks instead of three and stations are made a few feet narrower.
@@Hudsonrailfanner You gotta wake up somewhat early for this R160, and also I didn't even see this comment till NOW because it got held for review for some reason this time lmao
Glad you liked it that way and honestly I didn't mind it either but the thing is that I would receive a handful of comments saying they would like it better if this part wasn't showing there

@@morganlimes Will do. Any other then NYC??

😍😍😍😍👍👍👍
39:33 AKG MATT done caught lackin
Very nice video.
How did they let you put your camera right ridge just outside the train? How is the camera mounted, as it appears very secure and the images are steady and not jerky due to the track vibration?
Correction: “right into the ridge just outside the train car”.
Do the W train to 86 st plz
These railcars sound like the brakes are always engaged. 🤷🏻♂️
19:21 looks like they did some corrections
Right at 36:00 is where the biggest loss of life on the nyc subway happened on the track on the right.
nearly 100 people died.
Me: "I notice very little graffiti along the way; what stops vandals from doing their thing??"
Subway:"Watch starting at 19:25 and pay attention."
Not the dump and recharge at
At 44:15
Can you do one for the D line too? :D
The R160s made the Q line so much faster and reliable, now the R46s ruined it :(
Facts. Atleast they will retire soon and maybe have their retirement run like r32/42
Given how slow the R line is, the R46 is meant to have them 🤣
4:50 Lexington Avenue 59 Street transfer
What kind of camera did you use for this and how did you set it up so well on the front of the train?
I just used a grabber tool and placed the camera while no one was looking. Also the videos after this one, I would place the camera more forward that way it shows less of the floor
100M/100m On Dis Video MAn!
im scared and suprised about the fact that this is a r160 q train and not a r68 or i think the r41
Except for one person that asked me "am I going to be in your video?" then he said "ok cool!"
that guy was cool with this so I don't think people really care
Passing my the stops I use every day
that's awesome 👌
The stations are too far apart: There should have been a 91st Street station (the 1 once had one), a 79th Street station, and maybe even a 68th Street station as well.
Where?
That would have been too expensive to build. In fact to save costs the 72nd street station was reduced to 2 tracks instead of three and stations are made a few feet narrower.
Do you have permission to put ur camera by the front of the train? Jw
is it me or new tunnel make it louder
Yeah those tunnels from 57th to 96th amplifies the propulsion system
44:18 emergency brakes activated
What is that 😮
Subcribe to AKG Matt He's @ 39:32 lol
Damn I should have fanned the R160 Q lol
@@Hudsonrailfanner You gotta wake up somewhat early for this R160, and also I didn't even see this comment till NOW because it got held for review for some reason this time lmao
Bring back the 32s...........
The canal street to dekalb takes too long and should be looked into
37:34
18:34 sounds like the L is saying it
South Ferry 1 R W M15-SBS Staten Island Ferry
Too bad you don’t make videos anymore showing the anti climber which I prefer much more like tbjs
Glad you liked it that way and honestly I didn't mind it either but the thing is that I would receive a handful of comments saying they would like it better if this part wasn't showing there
@@morganlimes alright, it's fine, i'll still watch your videos
video can be better. Bad shot
Neat trick with the camera position. Makes it hard to see the 200 lb thug bash the 110 lb octogenarian for shits and giggles.
Where are the people pushed in front of the train by DeBlasio and his BLM family?
