I remember when I first saw this. I was so young I didn't get the "run by fruiting" joke and had to have it explained to me. Ahhh I miss being young :D.

Oh sir- I just saw some angry member of the kitchen staff did you not tip them? Oh the terrorists they ran away it was a run by fruiting! Oh...... good waste of juice...... *loser*
In the original script, Stu was supposed to be a total douchebag in this scene, saying he wanted to send the kids off to military school so he'd have Miranda to himself. I'm glad they changed it and made him a likable guy, except for calling Daniel a "loser" (although even that was just what Miranda told him and he didn't know the whole story)
Miranda told Stu that Daniel wasn't a responsible father and had not been helping her out with punishments. It was through the divorce and the Mrs. Doubtfire alter-ego that he had to learn balance in being a fun-loving dad and being a responsible parent. The first time, it was hard on Daniel because he was playing Mrs. Doubtfire who was a strict nanny and being a responsible parent is something he had been lacking the whole time. Plus, if you factor in the divorce and the emotions he was feeling, it was clear that Daniel was undergoing feelings of anger and resentment towards Miranda in how she treated him. I'm sure Stu talked to him afterwards in his normal clothing and learned the whole story about the divorce and how hard it was on him. Daniel was trying to get his life back together, an apartment sutable for children and has a steady job at the studio.
Yeah he wasn’t a bad guy at all. He used to date Miranda in college. He’s not “moving in on her” she is divorced. And like you said he does seem to genuinely like the kids. He probably won’t ever replace Daniel in their eyes but would still be a good stepfather.
Director Chris Columbus said in the original script Stu was the typical “antagonist” who only wanted to Miranda just to send her kids to boarding school and this scene showed his true colors. But both Columbus and Robin Williams felt that if Stu was just a genuinely great guy who really loved Miranda and the kids and was the 'perfect guy', that would be a real threat to Robin’s character.
@@tylertilwick6852 And when Pierce Brosnan was cast, the character of Stu had to be rewritten and Stu was made more likable and more caring towards the children.
Sorry to break this to you, but... It's not a real throw. CGI probably. The lime flew on a straight line, with no drop off or anything, which means there had to be enough back spin on the ball to temporarily reverse the coriolis effect. MLB pitchers struggle to achieve this. Unless Robin Williams threw 95mph with amazing control while dressed in a full fat suit complete with fake titties, you can take it to the bank that this scene was edited.
@Ryan V. Ok so he said it happened but that doesn't change what your eyes can see in the video. It's nothing against you, or anyone who thinks it's real, but I stand by my position that the lime flying out of Robin's hand was edited. You don't think actors are capable of lying in interviews for dramatic effect? I will only be convinced that it's a real throw if the raw alternate take gets released where the lime flies past pierces head the first time it's thrown. Otherwise I definitely assume it is CGI.
I like that Stu isn't some one dimensional asshole, he's actually a good guy who loves spending time with the kids & has a good relationship with Miranda. Sure he calls Daniel a loser but it's probably just because he's only heard negative things about him from Miranda

@@ShadowDeist I mean... she's ugly. Time, naturally. But she's obviously been to the plastic surgeon a time or two. Smoking and drinking don't do that.
The actor playing the bartender is Todd Williams, Robin’s half-brother. I know, because Todd was a good friend of my wife and me. He owned a winery called Toad’s Hollow (Todd’s nickname was Dr. Toad) here in Sonoma County. He was 13 years older than Robin, and they didn’t grow up together. But they became friends. Robin sent Todd a beautiful, large chess set with a frog theme, which Todd displayed in his winery.
I like how Stu breaks tons of clichés about "evil" step-parents like many family films seem to implement. He shows many step-parents are good hearted, decent people. Also, calling Daniel a "loser" seems less of a blind dislike for the guy, but rather seeing what a solid family he lost, right in front of him, a very good thing to anyone else.
Something about right at 1:57-1:58 when mrs doubtfire is laughing after plugging stu with the fruit then immediately changes to the concern lol, idk why that makes me laugh every time

@supernova girl check her out now www.imdb.com/name/nm0598460/
@@ShadowDeist YIKES! What the hell happened?
@@keepitwitmine time, possibly smoking and drinking, who knows.
@@ShadowDeist I mean... she's ugly. Time, naturally. But she's obviously been to the plastic surgeon a time or two. Smoking and drinking don't do that.
@@keepitwitmine you know how women can be about there looks
I love when he says to Ron" What are you looking at?"
The Bartender is Robin Williams brother.
The sound the lime makes when he pelts him kills me every single time. Hilarious scene.
That pretty blonde who walks up to the bar and looks at mrs doubtfire .then her eyes looks at the barman. 😃🤭
My favorite Mara Wilson movies are Matilda and Mrs.DoubFire. love these movie,s 😊❤❤❤
yeah she was such a cute actress but she looks a lot different grown up...sure had me fooled!!
Run by fruiting! 😂
LOVE this movie and this scene❤️
The actor playing the bartender is Todd Williams, Robin’s half-brother. I know, because Todd was a good friend of my wife and me. He owned a winery called Toad’s Hollow (Todd’s nickname was Dr. Toad) here in Sonoma County. He was 13 years older than Robin, and they didn’t grow up together. But they became friends. Robin sent Todd a beautiful, large chess set with a frog theme, which Todd displayed in his winery.
Oh sir! I saw it! Some angry member of the kitchen staff. Did you not tip them?😂😂
Oh the terrorist he ran that way it was a run by fruiting
I’ll get them sir! Don’t worry......... oh ....Waste of juice
So happy other people found this scene funny. When I first watched I couldn’t stop laughing
This scene always gets me even the dinner scene....Rumple forskin........😂
I love how he said, "What are you looking at?" in his Daniel voice at the dude, and the dude's face was like 😳
Something about right at 1:57-1:58 when mrs doubtfire is laughing after plugging stu with the fruit then immediately changes to the concern lol, idk why that makes me laugh every time
Mrs. Doubtfire vs. James Bond
My mom bursted 😂 in the theater
I was young and was so embarrassed
Kids can be so awkward
Now I laugh just as hard😂 rip ma love ya
this scene is the reason why stepfathers suck
That's funny because Stew isn't actually a bad guy.
Keanu Dave
Not all of them suck.
dandyboykb n Until he mentioned that Daniel is a loser. Be careful what you say. Walls have ears.
Aviva Kirsten
He doesn't know the full story.
I wish this guy was my stepfather. My real dad is a loser
😂😂😂😂 crying laughing decades later❤
The look on Stuart's face says otherwise even I would known Mrs doubtfire threw that at me
Best part of the whole movie and i had to keep replaying it over and over and over here. lol
I love the sound effect the lime makes
Masterpiece. Another proof which confirms how great were 80s to early 2000s, which gave us so much gems. Nowdays everyone ran out of ideas....mediocre remakes, prequels, sequels, superheroes shit and stupid movies filled of CGI.....pfff
Movies are much better now idiot man
Oh yeah! Old movies truly captured the hearts and emotions of the audience. I watched the 2004 Troy movie a couple years back, and I'm still on a wild roller-coaster!
"Run by fruiting" 🤣😆
So funny how the smiles drops off his face after getting smacked in the back of the head.
1:31 why are we supposed to hate Stu?? He was a guy who fell for a woman, changed his ways, and was fully supportive of her children. That is a GOOD MAN.
Robin Williams bullying James Bond lol.
"It was a run by fruiting!"
