I can’t believe how amazing the actress who plays Violet was - she SOLD the love and loss of her husband with so few scenes yet I really FELT it from her acting. Equally in season 1 i can still remember her speech to Anthony about duty - so powerful
Absolutely! She had me DEVASTATED in those flashback scenes. We didn't really get to see scenes of her with Edmund (clearly there was no time since the season was already so crowded) but her being as heartbroken as she was... that told us what we needed to know about how much those two loved each other. 😭
All of the Benedict mentions in here. I am living for it!! I absolutely adored his set up this season and I truly hope he’s the focus for next season. And yes for more Rom Coms please 💜
Love me some Benedict. Was SO excited to see him have a larger role in season 1 and see that continue this season. I will be seriously bummed if his story gets bumped for Polin. Much as I enjoyed their story, I’ve been excited for Benedict’s story since I’d heard we’d get a season 3. 😁

I think so too. It was too many scandals and not enough intimacy from the main characters. I like some dramatics but to have the show adjust itself to a more broader audience, it felt like a drama instead of a love story. I think it's ok to stick to the book story and it's format. Given more layers to Kate and the shamars would've been better. I dislike the entire featherington plot. It just didn't fit. More love interest wouldve added conflict and less scandals as lady whistledown would say lol. Danbury, violet Bridgeton and the queen make the show.
another underrated aspect of s2 was all the sibling interactions! everyone’s faces when kate is telling off anthony 💀 she fit right in immediately lol and i think they all realized it too
The PALL MALL SCENE!!! She was fully ready to jump in with the competitive sports energy that family has and they all saw how she fit in with them perfectly. 🥰🥰🥰
That scene where the Queen brings up her nephew to her was worth it mostly for the looks on the Cowpers' faces when she brought him up, LOL. I think that they may be alluding to something because in the first episode Edwina mentions possibly meeting a duke or a prince.
RIGHT??? Like in the book when she said she wanted a guy who was... I forget the word they used... "studious," or something like that and then she married a smart man so it came full circle. I hope whomever has access to Freddie starts asking him about in interviews because I want to see what quotes he will give on the record about if he's coming back! 👀

i honestly loved season 2. sure i would have liked fewer scenes with the featheringtons, less time on edwina, and more kanthony, but the moments we got between them were absolutely lovely. jonathan bailey’s performance the whole season blew me away. he is SUCH a great actor and the perfect romance lead. the way he delivered his lines………his voice, the eye contact, his mannerisms, i was obsessed with it all. i’m fully in love with him now, i fear!! plus the scenes with him + daphne and him + violet, without them he wouldn’t have declared his love for kate. LIKE WHEN HE CRIED AFTER HEARING SHE WOKE UP AND VIOLET SAYING HE CANT LOSE HER GODDDDDDD i had to pause and rewind a million times
I literally had to pause the series and fan myself. They are so captivating and fun. I understand their character motivations perfectly. I would've liked less of the Featheringtons and more Kathony as a result but ultimately, this series is such a step up from season 1. I just love everything about it especially the acting performances. My god were Anthony and Violet scenes absolutely brilliant.
@@LadyJenevia Absolutely, u finally felt like the Bridgertons we're actually a family compared to season 1. All of the little family scenes were perfect and they need to keep that thread going
they have to release a special episode dedicated to Kate and Anthony because for being the main character of this 9 hour season they didn't have enough scenes together. And if they let us know better the history of the sharma family with some flashbacks of kate's past in india it would be perfect, because despite not having read the book it seems that something is missing. Too many love stories and issues that could have developed in the next season, should have left more space for the evolution of the main characters and their feelings for each other , too many useless side plot.
If Jonathan and Simone sign on for more episodes in season three then the writers would be FOOLISH to not give them more material and I think seeing her open up to him about losing BOTH of her birth parents would be a great way to deepen their bond even more and also gift the audience with that window into her past. ❤️
Benedict and Eloise’s relationship is so cute too 🥰 I also feel like every character improved this season. I liked how Daphne saw straight through Anthony’s bull*** 😂 also I love how supportive Violet is of her children ☺️
One thing I love about the possibility of a future Prince Friedrich/Edwina Sharma subplot/nod is that HE IS A GERMAN PRINCE. Take THAT, Sheffields! I'm glad you mentioned it, but I want to put an even finer point on it: The Sheffields said she had to marry an ENGLISH nobleman. BWAHAHAHAHAHA
I didn't even think about the idea of them being xenophobic in that way but TBH I think they wouldn't care about that detail because they're social climbers and he's royalty. 😂🤷🏻♀️
I now totally get the too many side plots you mentioned in your first video. When I first started watching the episodes I didn’t think it was that bad but then after I finished and thought about it more and saw more people talking about the show the more I agreed. Now I’m just kinda sad that we could’ve had WAYYY more Kate and Anthony by cutting down so many irrelevant side plots. Nevertheless the sheer chemistry between Jonathan and Simone made this season better than the first. I don’t know if they want to come back for season 3 but if they do and they’re happy and together then it’ll all be worth it.
Considering how much criticism season 1 got for the "interracial dating cured systemic racism" thing and the consent problem and those issues were not repeated in season 2, I'm hoping they'll learn from the main notes they're getting about season 2 which are "More Kate/Anthony, less Featherington family subplot" 👀
@@LadyJenevia man I really hope so. Chris Van Dusen the creator was “fired”/leaving after this season. Apparently he and shonda have a tumultuous relationship despite him working for her since the beginning of his career, like all the way back to before grey’s anatomy. I think the behind the scenes stuff might have lead to this shift in season 2 where it feels less focused on the main couple. Not trying to stir anything up, but I’ve seen other people talk about it as well.
@@ayydubs987 I didn’t either until after I finished the season. I just saw some people speculating that bts drama might’ve contributed to the lack of sex scenes and too many sub plots, less focus on the romance and just general change from season 1.

I loved the performance of all the actors, I thought it was impeccable and there is nothing to complain about. The chemistry between Jonathan and Simone is incredibly perfect! My God, both were the perfect choices for the characters, I loved it!! I really liked the series, I missed many things from the book, but I also liked others that were added (I think anyone who is a fan of the book has to watch with an open mind to enjoy the plot) I thought the couple didn't get the screen time they deserved, I wish they had focused more on the couple than on the supporting actors, for example, I didn't think the "importance" they gave the Featheringtons family was necessary. I loved Luke Thompson this season and I think there's a big chance that season 3 will be his, not least because he had a certain focus on this season 2. I really want this season to be Benophie's, I'm already looking forward to it (in fact, the entire Brazilian fandom is already anxious to know who will play our dear Sophie).

I put "our dear Sophie" because we like the character. I don't know how it is in other countries, but here we always talk like this, it must be our thing. Kkkkkkkkk And no, we don't know if the actress is Brazilian (and I don't think it is), some people think she could be Latino or Asian, there are many theories. Hahaha But even though we don't know who the actress will be, we're very excited. Too bad it will take a year to release the season. Hahaha
My main issue with this season was the weight of the subplots. In my opinion the writers gave the same if not more importance to the PenEloise and Featherington storylines than K&A’s… I’m a huge fan of their book, I was super excited for this season and had tons of high expectations for the story, I understand that changes need to be done and they have to add more drama, because after all this is a TVshow, but they changed almost the entire story I cannot help but think they even forgot what the season was about. Edwina felt as the main love interest for a significant part of the season, they developed her relationship with Anthony while they rushed Kate and Anthony’s story in the last episode. At one point I even thought they were not going to end up together! In season 1 you were able to follow Daphne&Simon’s love story, from start to finish. In season 2 you couldn’t, Kate&Anthony’s relationship didn’t have a true development it was too much hot and cold. A slow burn enemies to lovers needs development, you need to see how their relationship transforms, how their opinions of one another change. We already knew show Anthony from S1, but Kate was introduced this season, and by adding all the wedding drama they made her look like the villain as if she were playing her sister, when she always had Edwina’s best interest at heart. She wanted to return to India to avoid any future conflicts and she begged Anthony not to break her sister’s heart. She was always putting Edwina first, but show Edwina was so in love with Anthony she didn’t see past her heartbreak (and quite understandably for someone in that situation). In ep7 literally Edwina says “Don’t make me out to be the cruel one” JUST WHY, very unfair to Kate’s character. I could have made without so much Theo and Eloise and Featheringtons to instead see more of the romantic leads, the chemistry between a Simone and Johnny is incredible and we were robbed of so many moments between the two of them alone.
I agree. I loved their book and there were key moments in it that helped show how similar they are in a lot of ways, how past trauma shaped them and it gave them common ground to become friends, and you don't see that in the show. You just get caught up in the smolder of their slow burn romance (which was epic) but it could have used more scenes to explore their relationship more and I definitely wanted to see more of their epilogue. We got so little on screen time of them together as a couple. We need a lot more scenes of them together in season 3.
@@santesia6222 , and Paula Rizo and that is what happens when the original plot is 'dumped' by screenwriters who think they can rewrite the book better. I am a Julia Quinn fan and have read all the 8 + the 9 th ( Violet's story + the 8X 2nd epilogues ) + the 4 prequels ( where Violet & Edmund are a young married couple & Anthony & Benedict are two little mischievous boys & Colin is a baby). I really don't mind at all changes for TV adaptation but the need to stay with most of the original book plot is necessary to keep the nuances, humour, sizzling romance & passion. As that gives us context. By the complete change of the plot it leaves massive holes in the 'realness '

Benedict is a gem in this season! I adore him and want to just pull him out of the screen for myself. I hope they keep him in the same vein they have in the next season. And the relationship between Violet and Lady Danbury is *chefs kiss*
Benedict was so cute this season, really loved his scenes. Also I think one of my fav scenes this season would be the violet and Anthony scene when he finds out Kate is awake. The performance by Jonny Bailey was sooo good.

If you see when Edwina calls Anthony and Kate to the church in the end of Episode 6, she says the same thing about "HER LOVE MATCH" expectations which was already called out by Kate in the first 2 episodes about Edwina's match but instead she went for honesty in a person🥲 I'm not hating on Edwina but she can't blame Kate there. It was all Edwina's requests that Kate was following where she couldn't act for herself. I literally felt bad for Kate🥲 I even weeped for her🥲 That girl has sacrificed a lot so has Anthony.
My ideal progression for Pen and Collin would be for her to have moved on from him and, when he realizes his feelings, he has to fight twice as hard to get her back. A likeable second lead would be ideal. So much shoujo energy!
I'm really enjoying your Bridgerton content! My thoughts on the show are similar to yours in many respects and differs slightly in others. I think JB and SA were EXCELLENT. Their chemistry, their acting - AMAZING. In fact, the entire cast was great. Where the show fell short for me was: 1) The heavy Featherington side plot was ridiculous and I don't know whose bad idea it was, but I was not here for it. 2) Because they wasted so much time on nonsense, they missed the opportunity to give us more Anthony and Kate in moments that were about more than just their attraction. We know it's SMOKING HOT, but where was the intimacy, the conversation? The library scene in particular (during the storm) could have been so much more meaningful than the scene we got in reality. I just felt like there wasn't enough time spent on their romance, aside from smouldering looks, witty banter and outright arguments. I would have loved to see more of them getting to know one another. 3) I'm not a book purist and don't mind the changes they made, but I will say that getting Anthony and Edwina right up to the alter was a tad too dramatic, even for me. I understand the idea of Edwina coming into her own and I celebrate that, but considering that Anthony would have married her regardless and Kate was pushing him to marry her sister (even though she knew he would never love said sister, one of her main husband criteria in the beginning) just felt off to me. Kate and Anthony don't choose to be together, they only get a chance because Edwina chooses not to marry Anthony. So, meh. 4) WE NEEDED MORE FLUFF DAMMIT. Like this was the slowest of slowburns and we get ONE married scene before it was over? Where was the payoff after all that agonising? We deserved a wedding and a proper honeymoon!😭 SORRY THIS IS LONG!🙈

What else is a comment section for? 😂 Of course I would've liked to see even more of them since they were very clearly the STARS of the season but presuming that they're actually going to stick around for more seasons this means that the writers still have room to do more with them like going into Kate's personal history with her birth parents. It would be really sweet and romantic for her to share that part of her life with Anthony and for him to support her emotionally. No one would complain about more of the 'mature' content, either but in general, their chemistry is RIDICULOUSLY off-the-charts so I can't imagine the writers throwing away the opportunity to showcase it more.

Presumably the actual Bridgerton family would have signed on for more than 1 or 2 seasons and Anthony as the head of the family would feature to some extent in all the stories. Damn how l loved Kate and Anthony. Their chemistry was fire and everything I wanted and more. I wish we had gotten more of them as a couple, but both actors confirmed they’ll be back in the next seasons, and how it’s just “the beginning for them”. That being said, I hate what they did to Edwinas character. Her getting mad saying she deserved love when Kate warned her that Anthony was not looking for that, not to mention she said that didn’t matter to her in episode 2 I think because as Edwina said “he was honest”. I agree the featherington story line was so unnecessary, that time could’ve been spent on Kanthony in my opinion (like their wedding, or as a couple in general). I enjoyed Colin and Benedict’s story, but I’m not sure of Eloise’s subplot because we all know she ends up with sir Philip or at least in the books lol. I’m really curious how next season will play out considering shonda rhimes said they won’t be going in order anymore. So my guess is Penelope and Colin are next instead of Benedict and Sophie.
I love that you brought attention to the Eloise & Penelope fight, one of the big book gripes is that Eloise is the last to know and then JQ tried to address it again in the 2nd epilogue but it was still disappointing on paper.
I did like seeing the dynamics of the featheringtons. Apart from Kate and Anthony ofcourse. I really had mad respect for lady featherington in the last scene. The way she handled everything and chose her girls above anything else. She is no Violet to be sure, but does have a deep love for her girls. And i am really looking forward to Pen and Colin's story🥰
I have things to say about this season. Netflix butchered the season. I mean they had a couple who had beautiful chemistry but why so little screen time. Also do they really needed Edwina's wedding scene? Totally unnecessary. I would have love to see Kate's wedding day and her life after the marrige. The kiss and sex scene were also weird not episode 8 though. The epilogue scene was something I wanted more in the whole series. I am kinda disappointed in this season. This season was suppose to be for Anthony and Kate but we really see so little of them that it’s frustrating.

POINT. you've made thus far in both videos, whether it was about Kanthony, the various subplots, or the whole Eloise and Pen drama. But when you mentioned the Edwina-Friedrich plot and then the spectacular human being that was Benedict Bridgerton (whom I fell in LOVE with this season for exactly the same reasons as you), I KNEW I had found my person on this site! Because you took all the words right out of my mouth. And honestly, I've been feeling so dejected reading such mixed reviews for this season, especially from book fans who are bitter about the show not matching the book exactly; meanwhile I LOVED this season, and this couple way more than season 1, but I felt like I had no one to talk about this with 😭 Honestly, I am so glad to have found you and I love your humour and way of talking. I've been in those positions before where I'm very attached to source material and don't like how someone adapts it (a recent example of that being me disliking the revisions to the material for Romeo AKA Tony in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story) but I'm just really not attached to this show's source material like that. I just want the show itself to entertain me and whatever it takes to get me there, I will go with it. 😂
So I just posted a comment on a previous video you made, and I wish the negative reviews of Season 2 would stop because it was an amazing Season. I loved Anthony's Love Story. It was so raw and relatable! Eloise's Story at the end made me just want to hug her! I love how Benedict is there for her, like Daph was for Ant. The oldest brother and sister looking out for each other, just like the 2nd oldest do for one another. Benedict offering to escort her to the last ball, made me almost want to cry. And Violet is the best best mother they all could have. The way she guided Anthony and realized why he was the way he was after his father died, just makes me want to be like her. She knows she's not the perfect parent she has to seem like to society, so she accepts her faults and apologizes to her kids when she is wrong...Lastly, Pruidence is kinda funny! She's just exists and goes along with anything so she's not alone.
I think Edwina will marry the Prince but it will be just mention in the series. I don't think we will see the whole story, especially with a cast with so many characters with their own already developing plots.
It feels like they either need to trim things down more or get an increased budget so they can do more episodes per season because this season was CROWDED. I want to see Edwina get a love story, though, because that would make for a great B-plot if it's one of the Bridgerton siblings getting to have the A-plot of the season.
They will really need to completely change the book plot as Edwina was supposed to meet her dream man, Mr Bagwell, a scholar ( he is studying Archaeology) at the Bridgerton weekend where in the book she realises she has NO interest in. Anthony. It was so changed from the original book plot that all that is left is the Title and the names of most characters . They even cut out ALL the humour. Which makes those of us who love the books highly frustrated
@@micheledix2616 i would have liked to see this more -- as much as Kate tries to steer Edwina toward noblemen, she falls for a scholar. Bonus that she realizes on her own that Anthony isn't for her.
@@LadyJenevia the sad part is that in the book Edwina does find the 'man of her Dreams, Mr Bagwell, ' A Scholar( just as she wanted) who, is studying Archaeology, so,imagine the amazing life Edwina has in the book going with her beloved husband ( who is closer to her age not 11 yrs older like Anthony) to the most exotic places that was doing Archaeology in the mid 1800's. This plot is far more romantic than the stupid ' love triangle '. They could have used the proper storyline and expanded Edwina's love story too. In the book she meets Mr Bagwell at the Bridgerton Weekend Ball he is one of the young men Violet brings in to balance out the male female numbers. I think he is a relative of the local church minister. . I have been thinking how sad Julia Quinn must be to see her work totally trashed and made into a Regency version of Days of Our Lives or Bold and The Beautiful with all the ridiculous subs plots and not enough of the sizzling sexual tension & passion and all the humour from the book , gone. Meeeeeh. So disappointed & frustrated by the screenwriters believing they could rewrite an already beloved best-seller, better. WOW what egos. All that is left of Julia Quinn's novel is the Title and the main characters names. So sad I really hope they don't trash the next novel like book 2
@@ReeniEspinoit makes me incredulous that because Shondaland bought the rights to the books they think they can completely trash the original plots and storyline ( I don't mind changes , like adding the Queen, the Sharma Family etc) but to think screenwriters can completely rewrite a best seller and fully change the complete context of the original is over the top full on egos. I had been so looking forward to this Series 2 but have been SO frustrated and disappointed that first the first time EVER I was angrily talking to the TV screen about DUMB script writers, especially when it came to the farce of the stupid wedding scenes. . The screenwriters have let the brilliant actors down very badly because NO THEY CANNOT WRITE A BETTER PLOT than the Author

I just found your video channel and I really love your take on Bridgerton season two! I love this season better than the first, because I love the soul and slow burn of Kate and Anthony I believe in their passion and love. I also loved how in this season you really see the Bridgertons be a family they really seemed like the love each other, the siblings teasing was great and so was the interaction. One thing I was confused about though, if the Bridgerton siblings are all alphabetically named what happened to the F sibling Francesca? I did not see her. There was Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Elouise, missing Francesca, Gregory and Hyacinth. Where did Francesca go? Love your videos, they add zest to the watching of season two!
I really don't know because I haven't paid much attention to the younger siblings (the youngest one being Eloise) because that's already five characters to keep track of with their respective stories and I didn't feel like the writing on the show thus far has done much to turn those other characters into prominent players in the story. 😂
The actress who plays Francesca was casted for another show and couldn't take part in the last episodes of Bridgerton I love Francesca's book the most. 💗

Yes! Yes! Yes! about Benedict. I love both scenes you highlighted with his facial reactions. I kept giggling at the faces he made. And also love his interactions with Eloise as well, him saving her from the dance when someone was about to ask her to dance. And him being nosy and wanting to know what Daphne and Anthony were talking about. Or that line afterwards when they were with family and he whispered if ther was anything Anthony would like the family to know “or you would like just me to know”. Hilarious. I love him.
I don't usually notice continuity errors, but there were a couple I saw straight away this season, like hair in face then not, and I can imagine there's more that I didn't see, so along with the errors you mentioned, for some reason there was some lazy editing happening, I love the series but those things can just take you out of the scene
I almost wonder if they didn't do as many takes because they wanted to minimise the amount of time actors and crew had to be in close proximity to one another? I'm really not sure, though. 🤷🏻♀️
They hire English cast cause they are on another level. I say they should hire English crew too. Cause this is a disgrace!!! I noticed some shitty 80s quality green screen visuals during the horse riding scense too(the one where Kate falls) it was embracing. Is there a reason they won't hire a professional to direct the film?
After watching season 2, I notice lady Danbury was aware of how Kate felt about Anthony since episode 4. She warned Kate about hiding how she truly felt from her sister. Danbury even tried to end the wedding on her by inviting the Sheffield's to dinner with the bridgetons. She knew it would blow up in Kate's face as it did. Lady Danbury was trying to avoid what she knew what would be a disaster because she knew what was aspiring
That's a bad plan. The queen was hosting the wedding and she asked Kate on the walk, are you a fool? That's why she told her. I know I told you to be honest and you want to have love, but girl we are past the point of no return. Put those ideas to rest and suck it up and watch your sister marry the man you love.
I can’t believe that none of these matriarchs sat down Kate /Anthony and gave them a talking to BEFORE they walked down the aisle. Especially their mother’s. I guess they had to give Phoebe something.
I think the issue with the filming for Kate and Anthony is likely COVID-19 related. I believe I read somewhere that they had to halt filming two times because of COVID-19. So timing-wise, they could have been behind schedule or had to use the footage they had for the intimate scenes because they couldn't afford to get more.
That sounds very plausible! Unfortunate situation all around but I would rather they do whatever is necessary to keep the cast and crew safe. No matter how much we love watching these stories it shouldn't be at the cost of endangering anyone's lives. If things are safer during production for season 3, perhaps it will show in the final result. 😊

I've loved benedict since season 1. Initially thought he was gonna be gay too.. was really sad they didn't do that. But now that i think about it he has a lot of chaotic bi energy. Would love for them to embrace this!
I feel that the writers of the show veered of a little too far from the books. Like I cannot imagine Eloise with Sir Philip anymore because her with Theo was just so cute!

I agree! I am really angry about the amount of fluff/side plots in season 2. Especially because this was the best love story of the series. They had so much good source material, and blew it imo. Really disappointed, it was almost difficult to watch they get it so wrong. 😭
As a Bridgerton book reader (years ago), I have very mixed feelings about this season.☹ Of course there will never be one to one adaptation to the screen, but this time it was too much. The Bridgerton books are romantic, light-hearted, funny, with a bit of drama here and there. 💗 Season one adaptation was fine for me, a pleasure to watch, but this one...really had a hard time. Too many changes, sub plots, side characters, and too much drama...all in all it felt very heavy. Sometimes I was reminded of a regency Dynasty/Dallas series! They skipped quite a few scenes which were important for the development and relationship of Kate and Anthony. Finally, after numerous back and forth, there was a rushed happy end that kind of left a bad taste, because of Kate's and Anthony's treatment of Edwina. I couldn't really be happy for them. Netflix ruined their sweet and passionate relationship. Yes, there were things I liked...the good acting, the chemistry between Kathony, the costumes, settings, etc. Hoping the next seasons will be more enjoyable. 🙂 Love your eye make-up, looks beautiful. They needed to focus more on Kate and Anthony. I hate that they made Edwina fall for Anthony. In the books didn’t care much for him and she wanted a scholar which she ends up meeting.

100% agree Season 3 better be Benedict's or we riot! He is an adorable doofus and I thought I was immune to that as a romantic lead, but apparently NOT! His and Eloise's interactions are always the best, his and Anthony's a close second. I want to see his heart stolen, broken and mended so badly it's offensive. And Kate and Anthrony better be there to help him through it.
I noticed the similarities in the opening of the two love scenes too!! I didn't think much of it, but then in rewatching it, I was like wait!!! AND I really LOVE BENNEDICT too and really want to see him in love!! His huge smiles?! OMG
The scene where they fall into the mud also has an editing error. When Kater gets up, she doesn't have the pall mall bat in her hands. Whe she turns to take anthony's hand, the bat magically appers in her hand and still serving as a support to they get out of mud. * Also, I felt the same vibe "Sybil and Branso", from Downton Abbey, with Eloise and Theo. I really liked. Better than her marrying Marina's husband. I was shocked when I received this spoiler. I hope they change in the series.
I don't think we'll see the prince in season 3 but then again, why do I know? The only thing I'm going to say about book 3/season 3: if they do things right, it'll be epic. It is a good (underrated) story in the Fandom. I'm also interested in how they are going to fix PenEloise.
From what I've heard online, the writers aren't planning to follow book order in season 3 so we might not get Benedict's story next season. If they really decide not to follow the order of the books, I have a feeling we might see either Colin or Eloise's story instead, but with Benedict's story's prologue thrown in as a subplot which would fit the timeline better I think.
If they're going to make me wait extra years to see my boy get his love story they had better AT THE VERY LEAST announce the casting for his love interest because I want to at least be nosey about that one detail (I'm avoiding the book because I want to know as few spoilers as possible before watching the season; I can read the book after I've watched the episodes to compare/contrast the adaptation with the source material). 😆

as if I didn't love you enough, you just had to go and bring up Selfie! The Featherington storyline's saving grace were Penelope and Prudence. I also wish there had been more focus on Will's struggle as a working class man within that aristocratic world. P.s I'm a day one Benedict stan.
Yep I noticed that too the used the same shot from Kate and Anthony love scene in ep 7 from ep 8 🤦🏽 or at the very least they ran out of footage and used left over footage
Apparently they spent 2 days filming the gazebo scene in episode 7 and cut out a lot -- so not lack of material, just a bit of lazy editing maybe. More the pity-- 100% approve of releasing that extra footage.
I had many issues with this Season´s editing. I got distracted by how much they just pasted clips instead of going for longer takes. Example: E1--> starting with 37:20, there is just a sense of pasted clips from different shootings. So she hears everything and then bumps into something, and then when she starts to walk again, it is all disconnected. And then they have wide shots and close shots which do not seem to match. I am not a technical person, I do not know how difficult this is, but my mind just tried to understand how far apart the actually were throughout this scene, when they start fighting, it ranges from 2m to 1m. He is saying "you" whilst he is walking but slowing the pace, and then in "I never got your name", it is a different angle and he goes faster. "You were ears dropping", it seems they are 1 m apart, "it was hardly an effort", again it goes to 2m. I am exaggerating a bit, but I do feel this should not have been that difficult to even out. E3 throughout the entire dinner Sharma's and Bridgerton. It was so easy to see that this was shot with different groups. I understand this was done like this due to Covid restrictions and the casting agenda's, ok, it makes sense. But in most of Daphne's shots, she is 100% alone, same for many of them. When you get the full room view they are all mere 20 cm apart from one another. E1 I was not a fan of the whole horse race (1st meeting) final result. It felt low budgeted. E8, love declaration. Again it felt funny that they had to use so many ensembled clips instead of a longer shot. E7, the sex scene. I do not know where to begin with. I did not like how this was edited.
Hopefully things are in a better place when shooting season 3 so that it's safe enough for actors to interact more with each other, on top of the world just needing to be safer in general. 🥲
@@LadyJenevia Totally. I agree they have done a superb job given the circumstances. However, I cannot stop myself from laughing at some of the editing. E8, my favorite dance. Starts when Penelope and Colin finish their dance. They are dancing together and there is a frame with eligible bachelors. Stick to 2: 1 with light brown hair (Lord Fife) and a dark haired (let us call him "Tom"). Next you have the Sharmas. Here it is not very clear but just behind, Lord Fife is drinking behind Edwina and a "Tom" is behind Kate. Up to here, it is fine, they may have moved about. But... Next clip, Anthony is talking to Lord Fife again, who no longer has the drink. And we see "Tom" in the background. Next clip as Anthony looks at the Sharmas, the Sharmas have again the same guys, this time behind Edwina. Why have I noticed? Basically both Lord Fife and Tom are very attractive. If you are playing this game, chose dull people... Next clip as the camera moves, we can actually see at the end of the room, Mama Sharma talking to Anthony. Some secs later... Anthony all alone. And next we switch to Sharma sisters again. And we see Anthony yet again with Mama Sharma, walking towards Kate. I cannot imagine how difficult filming a ball scene may have been with all the restrictions. Like really tough. But that was hilarious!
Yes, I totally agree with you. There was too much scenes about the Featherington and the cousin Jack. I just skipped most of their scenes, if not almost all of their scenes 😢
I truly like and appreciate the featheringtons and their sub plot. The more i think about the possibilities for the Sharma's history in India, I think it stokes some possible parallels about what it would be like to have it all, and suddenly lose it, just like the Sharma's did. We were viewing the aftermath of the Sharma's loss, at the same time, witnessing the Featheringtons almost lose everything. Watching Lady Featherington fight to save her girls was similar and powerful as watching Anthony and Kate fight for their families. Lady Featherington has a different way of expressing her love for her girls, and clearly has her own relationship battles to deal with. I like Jack's tie to the America's, it took my mind to realizing what was happening in America at the time, after the American Revolution war with King George III, Charlotte's husband! Which I then immediatly started to think that England was similarly involved in wars with India at the same time. My mind is blowing right now, from the endless story line possibilities about the Sharma's in India. All thanks to the Featheringtons! I feel like we could be watching new Bridgerton episodes for the next 10 years. 😊

Not to give out spoilers but as someone who's read the books, honestly the timing is a little off because in the books Penelope runs the whole Whistledown business for 10 years so her reveal makes a bigger impact plus in the books Eloise doesn't really care much abt Penelope being Whistledown and also congratulates her for fooling the ton for so long so I'm curious on the route they're gonna take in the series. Also my man Benedict was done dirty. Colin is still very baby-faced and still not at the level of maturity he needs to attain which we see in S1 where Anthony and Benedict mention not having taken him to enough brothels or wtv so the 10 years time lapse gives him the time to emotionally mature as well and of course in that window of time is where Benedict's story fits in.
I love that jazz meeting too! Karen Gillan made up the ending to Selfie (on my page). And Bridgerton's executive producer worked on Selfie too and had to fight for John Cho's casting.

Wow, season 2 really expunged even the gay side characters that they had, and with a very 'Look At How Heterosexual I Am' plot for Benedict. And CVD said that 'they would touch on Benedict's sexuality' in s3. But since he gets together with Sophie (who has yet to appear but her raging fans have really made me despise her) wtf does that mean? It'll just be something insulting like season 1 where the LGBTQ characters were used just so the straight man could be 'inspired', a disgusting trope that just might be worse than the queerbaiting the trailer did.
I'm a book fan and Benedict's story is one I'm most excited about. I know fans are all simping for Kathony and while I love them, I'm over here eagerly awaiting Benedict's story, he is, as one would expect, a HOPELESS romantic. Cannot wait, he deserves all your love.

I enjoyed watching the featheringtons, the first go around but now having literally just rewatched it like 6x and on going, I just fast forward through anything that's not kanthony. I wish we had more of them in their deep conversations and really getting to know each other TO each other, rather than us learning it, but seeing them learn it within eachother. I would love to see edwina and friedrich, I think there personalities mend together so much better, it'd be nice to see them flirting and Edwina truly feeling love. I agree, all that work for edwina to choose for love and she didn't really love the viscount anyway, she truly fit better with Lord Lumley. 🤣
Hi I am back and more coherent. Girl you have me taking notes. And I will be saving some of my comments for your future bridgerton videos. The Featherington Subplot was unbearable. When I watched it the first time, I let them play most of it until the last 2 or 3 episodes. But through the rewatch I had to fast forward anytime they came on screen. They really could have been drastically reduced. The should have cut the perspective Jack and Mrs. Featherington completely out and have us learn about their mess through Will, Colin, and Penelope (since Penelope was barely even apart of the featherington subplot). Yes the fight between Eloise and Penelope was GOOD. I'm sorry Penelope gagged her a little bit. Because I ain't forget that she was a Whistledown stan in season 1. Going on and on about how Whistledown was leading the life she wanted, and how she is always going on about shaking tables. But where's the resume, sis? Two seasons of talking and what do you have to show for it? Still Team Eloise, but you got got. 🤷🏿♀ Okay!!! I thought it looked the same as well. But I didn't do a deep dive. Not really sure why we are recycling footage. They deserve better than that. My Kate and Anthony thoughts (I have sooo many. I literally took notes because I knew that you were going to do multiple videos and I wanted to make sure that I was ready) will be reserved for your Kate and Anthony video. Since this video is about miscellaneous points. I just want to say that they better get their own subplot for season 3 especially since we had to suffer through the Featheringtons. In the show it was mentioned a couple times that Anthony's wife (Kathani) is supposed to take over Violet's role. That fact is the only reason why I didn't cuss the writers out for over that 2 minute epilogue. They are literally head of the household so they gots to be there in the mix. Edwina better be back in season 3, and yes to the romance with the prince or a prince if the actor is not available. I am sure the Queen has many royals as family. So let's wake that up. I was noticing his reactions way more during my rewatch and loving him for it. Brilliant character and I love him down. All I know about his season is his future love interest name. I am not reading the books as well. I only read book 2 prior to this season because I was excited by the trailer and the book stans were hyping the book up, and because I'm impatient and cheat all the time, I read the book. Wasn't really impressed by the book and killed any desire to read anymore of the series because if this was supposed to be the gold standard........... I mean the book is literally 20+ years old (Idk how I never came across the series until the show came out), so I am not really sure what I was expecting. I know I'm glad that they changed the plot I mean just off the strength that they didn't do the marriage to cover up a scandal storyline again (and the streets are saying this happens multiple times in the book series 🤨🤨). But I will definitely talk about the book changes in another video. Anyway great video!! Can't wait for the next one and sorry for the essay. I can almost guarantee that this is only going to get worse from here on out tbh.

OMG!! I just figured it out! It is a mirrored image!! If u look at her nose, she has a piercing from a nose ring. Throughout the episodes, you can see it on her left side. In episode 7 only, it's to the right! So that's how I know that one is a mirrored image and the original is from episode 8! And u can tell it's the exact same image because of her hair. Nobody's messy hair falls in the exact same path twice like that! LOL

I’m not a fan of the Featheringtons either but I think I understand why they ran with that storyline as the B story. It illustrates in this society of wealth/security over love and morality.. well, when money is gone, not much is left but love. Mama F’s love for her children are all she has and she’ll do anything to secure them a future. They even threw in a line about marriage without love and how she copes. I would not have missed less Featherington drama but now in retrospect I understand the why. As always, I loved your take on S2. S3 will have to work real hard to top this season. I know you, like Lady Whistledown will be sharpening your knives in wait. :)
I understand the criticism of the featherington plot but apart from the Mondrichs’ and Colin’s takedown of Jack, they needed to include a plot which would restore the Featherington ladies’ wealth and allow them to remain in London and among the Ton for future seasons too

@@LadyJenevia I won't spoil anything, but I think it would be intelligent of the writers to start Benedict's love story next season by only introducing the love interest (but not having him as the main Bridgerton sibling, only as a subplot) and then have the following season be THEIR season. Because in the book there is a big gap of several years between the first and second meeting so it just makes sense (to me).
I agree with you about the Featherington subplot, I could have done without it to be honest. I actually read some comments by a few women, who said that Anthony and Kate had NO chemistry and that they slammed Simone Ashley as being wooden and that Anthony had better chemistry with season one Sienna, which is laughable. They also said that Lady Portia and Lord Jack had MORE chemistry than Anthony and Kate... DELUDED! I will say that these haters of tv Anthony and Kate were of a certain demographic, which is really sad and pathetic.

I can’t believe how amazing the actress who plays Violet was - she SOLD the love and loss of her husband with so few scenes yet I really FELT it from her acting. Equally in season 1 i can still remember her speech to Anthony about duty - so powerful
Absolutely! She had me DEVASTATED in those flashback scenes. We didn't really get to see scenes of her with Edmund (clearly there was no time since the season was already so crowded) but her being as heartbroken as she was... that told us what we needed to know about how much those two loved each other. 😭
All of the Benedict mentions in here. I am living for it!! I absolutely adored his set up this season and I truly hope he’s the focus for next season. And yes for more Rom Coms please 💜

I think so too. It was too many scandals and not enough intimacy from the main characters. I like some dramatics but to have the show adjust itself to a more broader audience, it felt like a drama instead of a love story. I think it's ok to stick to the book story and it's format. Given more layers to Kate and the shamars would've been better. I dislike the entire featherington plot. It just didn't fit. More love interest wouldve added conflict and less scandals as lady whistledown would say lol. Danbury, violet Bridgeton and the queen make the show.
another underrated aspect of s2 was all the sibling interactions! everyone’s faces when kate is telling off anthony 💀 she fit right in immediately lol and i think they all realized it too
The PALL MALL SCENE!!! She was fully ready to jump in with the competitive sports energy that family has and they all saw how she fit in with them perfectly. 🥰🥰🥰

I hope whomever has access to Freddie starts asking him about in interviews because I want to see what quotes he will give on the record about if he's coming back! 👀

i honestly loved season 2. sure i would have liked fewer scenes with the featheringtons, less time on edwina, and more kanthony, but the moments we got between them were absolutely lovely. jonathan bailey’s performance the whole season blew me away. he is SUCH a great actor and the perfect romance lead. the way he delivered his lines………his voice, the eye contact, his mannerisms, i was obsessed with it all. i’m fully in love with him now, i fear!! plus the scenes with him + daphne and him + violet, without them he wouldn’t have declared his love for kate. LIKE WHEN HE CRIED AFTER HEARING SHE WOKE UP AND VIOLET SAYING HE CANT LOSE HER GODDDDDDD i had to pause and rewind a million times

The lovely Edwina, and wondering when her situation would explode, is what kept so-called "Kanthony" from being just a Pride and Prejudice copycat.
I literally had to pause the series and fan myself. They are so captivating and fun. I understand their character motivations perfectly. I would've liked less of the Featheringtons and more Kathony as a result but ultimately, this series is such a step up from season 1. I just love everything about it especially the acting performances. My god were Anthony and Violet scenes absolutely brilliant.
They were absolutely incredible and we need to see more of them in the coming seasons!

they have to release a special episode dedicated to Kate and Anthony because for being the main character of this 9 hour season they didn't have enough scenes together. And if they let us know better the history of the sharma family with some flashbacks of kate's past in india it would be perfect, because despite not having read the book it seems that something is missing. Too many love stories and issues that could have developed in the next season, should have left more space for the evolution of the main characters and their feelings for each other ,
too many useless side plot.
If Jonathan and Simone sign on for more episodes in season three then the writers would be FOOLISH to not give them more material and I think seeing her open up to him about losing BOTH of her birth parents would be a great way to deepen their bond even more and also gift the audience with that window into her past. ❤️

I now totally get the too many side plots you mentioned in your first video. When I first started watching the episodes I didn’t think it was that bad but then after I finished and thought about it more and saw more people talking about the show the more I agreed. Now I’m just kinda sad that we could’ve had WAYYY more Kate and Anthony by cutting down so many irrelevant side plots. Nevertheless the sheer chemistry between Jonathan and Simone made this season better than the first. I don’t know if they want to come back for season 3 but if they do and they’re happy and together then it’ll all be worth it.
Considering how much criticism season 1 got for the "interracial dating cured systemic racism" thing and the consent problem and those issues were not repeated in season 2, I'm hoping they'll learn from the main notes they're getting about season 2 which are "More Kate/Anthony, less Featherington family subplot" 👀

Apparently he and shonda have a tumultuous relationship despite him working for her since the beginning of his career, like all the way back to before grey’s anatomy. I think the behind the scenes stuff might have lead to this shift in season 2 where it feels less focused on the main couple. Not trying to stir anything up, but I’ve seen other people talk about it as well.

I really liked the series, I missed many things from the book, but I also liked others that were added (I think anyone who is a fan of the book has to watch with an open mind to enjoy the plot)
I thought the couple didn't get the screen time they deserved, I wish they had focused more on the couple than on the supporting actors, for example, I didn't think the "importance" they gave the Featheringtons family was necessary.
I loved Luke Thompson this season and I think there's a big chance that season 3 will be his, not least because he had a certain focus on this season 2.

My main issue with this season was the weight of the subplots. In my opinion the writers gave the same if not more importance to the PenEloise and Featherington storylines than K&A’s… I’m a huge fan of their book, I was super excited for this season and had tons of high expectations for the story, I understand that changes need to be done and they have to add more drama, because after all this is a TVshow, but they changed almost the entire story I cannot help but think they even forgot what the season was about.
Edwina felt as the main love interest for a significant part of the season, they developed her relationship with Anthony while they rushed Kate and Anthony’s story in the last episode. At one point I even thought they were not going to end up together!
In season 1 you were able to follow Daphne&Simon’s love story, from start to finish. In season 2 you couldn’t, Kate&Anthony’s relationship didn’t have a true development it was too much hot and cold. A slow burn enemies to lovers needs development, you need to see how their relationship transforms, how their opinions of one another change. We already knew show Anthony from S1, but Kate was introduced this season, and by adding all the wedding drama they made her look like the villain as if she were playing her sister, when she always had Edwina’s best interest at heart. She wanted to return to India to avoid any future conflicts and she begged Anthony not to break her sister’s heart. She was always putting Edwina first, but show Edwina was so in love with Anthony she didn’t see past her heartbreak (and quite understandably for someone in that situation). In ep7 literally Edwina says “Don’t make me out to be the cruel one” JUST WHY, very unfair to Kate’s character.
I could have made without so much Theo and Eloise and Featheringtons to instead see more of the romantic leads, the chemistry between a Simone and Johnny is incredible and we were robbed of so many moments between the two of them alone.
I agree. I loved their book and there were key moments in it that helped show how similar they are in a lot of ways, how past trauma shaped them and it gave them common ground to become friends, and you don't see that in the show. You just get caught up in the smolder of their slow burn romance (which was epic) but it could have used more scenes to explore their relationship more and I definitely wanted to see more of their epilogue. We got so little on screen time of them together as a couple. We need a lot more scenes of them together in season 3.

I am a Julia Quinn fan and have read all the 8 + the 9 th ( Violet's story + the 8X 2nd epilogues ) + the 4 prequels ( where Violet & Edmund are a young married couple & Anthony & Benedict are two little mischievous boys & Colin is a baby). I really don't mind at all changes for TV adaptation but the need to stay with most of the original book plot is necessary to keep the nuances, humour, sizzling romance & passion. As that gives us context. By the complete change of the plot it leaves massive holes in the 'realness '

If you see when Edwina calls Anthony and Kate to the church in the end of Episode 6, she says the same thing about "HER LOVE MATCH" expectations which was already called out by Kate in the first 2 episodes about Edwina's match but instead she went for honesty in a person🥲

My ideal progression for Pen and Collin would be for her to have moved on from him and, when he realizes his feelings, he has to fight twice as hard to get her back. A likeable second lead would be ideal. So much shoujo energy!
I'm really enjoying your Bridgerton content! My thoughts on the show are similar to yours in many respects and differs slightly in others. I think JB and SA were EXCELLENT. Their chemistry, their acting - AMAZING. In fact, the entire cast was great. Where the show fell short for me was:
1) The heavy Featherington side plot was ridiculous and I don't know whose bad idea it was, but I was not here for it.
2) Because they wasted so much time on nonsense, they missed the opportunity to give us more Anthony and Kate in moments that were about more than just their attraction. We know it's SMOKING HOT, but where was the intimacy, the conversation? The library scene in particular (during the storm) could have been so much more meaningful than the scene we got in reality. I just felt like there wasn't enough time spent on their romance, aside from smouldering looks, witty banter and outright arguments. I would have loved to see more of them getting to know one another.
3) I'm not a book purist and don't mind the changes they made, but I will say that getting Anthony and Edwina right up to the alter was a tad too dramatic, even for me. I understand the idea of Edwina coming into her own and I celebrate that, but considering that Anthony would have married her regardless and Kate was pushing him to marry her sister (even though she knew he would never love said sister, one of her main husband criteria in the beginning) just felt off to me. Kate and Anthony don't choose to be together, they only get a chance because Edwina chooses not to marry Anthony. So, meh.
4) WE NEEDED MORE FLUFF DAMMIT. Like this was the slowest of slowburns and we get ONE married scene before it was over? Where was the payoff after all that agonising? We deserved a wedding and a proper honeymoon!😭

Of course I would've liked to see even more of them since they were very clearly the STARS of the season but presuming that they're actually going to stick around for more seasons this means that the writers still have room to do more with them like going into Kate's personal history with her birth parents. It would be really sweet and romantic for her to share that part of her life with Anthony and for him to support her emotionally. No one would complain about more of the 'mature' content, either but in general, their chemistry is RIDICULOUSLY off-the-charts so I can't imagine the writers throwing away the opportunity to showcase it more.

Damn how l loved Kate and Anthony. Their chemistry was fire and everything I wanted and more. I wish we had gotten more of them as a couple, but both actors confirmed they’ll be back in the next seasons, and how it’s just “the beginning for them”. That being said, I hate what they did to Edwinas character. Her getting mad saying she deserved love when Kate warned her that Anthony was not looking for that, not to mention she said that didn’t matter to her in episode 2 I think because as Edwina said “he was honest”. I agree the featherington story line was so unnecessary, that time could’ve been spent on Kanthony in my opinion (like their wedding, or as a couple in general). I enjoyed Colin and Benedict’s story, but I’m not sure of Eloise’s subplot because we all know she ends up with sir Philip or at least in the books lol.
I’m really curious how next season will play out considering shonda rhimes said they won’t be going in order anymore. So my guess is Penelope and Colin are next instead of Benedict and Sophie.

I love that you brought attention to the Eloise & Penelope fight, one of the big book gripes is that Eloise is the last to know and then JQ tried to address it again in the 2nd epilogue but it was still disappointing on paper.
I did like seeing the dynamics of the featheringtons. Apart from Kate and Anthony ofcourse. I really had mad respect for lady featherington in the last scene. The way she handled everything and chose her girls above anything else. She is no Violet to be sure, but does have a deep love for her girls. And i am really looking forward to Pen and Colin's story🥰
I have things to say about this season. Netflix butchered the season. I mean they had a couple who had beautiful chemistry but why so little screen time. Also do they really needed Edwina's wedding scene? Totally unnecessary. I would have love to see Kate's wedding day and her life after the marrige. The kiss and sex scene were also weird not episode 8 though. The epilogue scene was something I wanted more in the whole series. I am kinda disappointed in this season. This season was suppose to be for Anthony and Kate but we really see so little of them that it’s frustrating.

So I just posted a comment on a previous video you made, and I wish the negative reviews of Season 2 would stop because it was an amazing Season. I loved Anthony's Love Story. It was so raw and relatable! Eloise's Story at the end made me just want to hug her! I love how Benedict is there for her, like Daph was for Ant. The oldest brother and sister looking out for each other, just like the 2nd oldest do for one another. Benedict offering to escort her to the last ball, made me almost want to cry. And Violet is the best best mother they all could have. The way she guided Anthony and realized why he was the way he was after his father died, just makes me want to be like her. She knows she's not the perfect parent she has to seem like to society, so she accepts her faults and apologizes to her kids when she is wrong...Lastly, Pruidence is kinda funny! She's just exists and goes along with anything so she's not alone.
I think Edwina will marry the Prince but it will be just mention in the series. I don't think we will see the whole story, especially with a cast with so many characters with their own already developing plots.
It feels like they either need to trim things down more or get an increased budget so they can do more episodes per season because this season was CROWDED. I want to see Edwina get a love story, though, because that would make for a great B-plot if it's one of the Bridgerton siblings getting to have the A-plot of the season.
They will really need to completely change the book plot as Edwina was supposed to meet her dream man, Mr Bagwell, a scholar ( he is studying Archaeology) at the Bridgerton weekend where in the book she realises she has NO interest in. Anthony. It was so changed from the original book plot that all that is left is the Title and the names of most characters . They even cut out ALL the humour. Which makes those of us who love the books highly frustrated

@@LadyJenevia the sad part is that in the book Edwina does find the 'man of her Dreams, Mr Bagwell, ' A Scholar( just as she wanted) who, is studying Archaeology, so,imagine the amazing life Edwina has in the book going with her beloved husband ( who is closer to her age not 11 yrs older like Anthony) to the most exotic places that was doing Archaeology in the mid 1800's.
This plot is far more romantic than the stupid ' love triangle '. They could have used the proper storyline and expanded Edwina's love story too. In the book she meets Mr Bagwell at the Bridgerton Weekend Ball he is one of the young men Violet brings in to balance out the male female numbers. I think he is a relative of the local church minister. .
I have been thinking how sad Julia Quinn must be to see her work totally trashed and made into a Regency version of Days of Our Lives or Bold and The Beautiful with all the ridiculous subs plots and not enough of the sizzling sexual tension & passion and all the humour from the book , gone. Meeeeeh.
So disappointed & frustrated by the screenwriters believing they could rewrite an already beloved best-seller, better. WOW what egos. All that is left of Julia Quinn's novel is the Title and the main characters names. So sad I really hope they don't trash the next novel like book 2

I had been so looking forward to this Series 2 but have been SO frustrated and disappointed that first the first time EVER I was angrily talking to the TV screen about DUMB script writers, especially when it came to the farce of the stupid wedding scenes. . I love this season better than the first, because I love the soul and slow burn of Kate and Anthony I believe in their passion and love. I also loved how in this season you really see the Bridgertons be a family they really seemed like the love each other, the siblings teasing was great and so was the interaction.
One thing I was confused about though, if the Bridgerton siblings are all alphabetically named what happened to the F sibling Francesca? I did not see her. There was Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Elouise, missing Francesca, Gregory and Hyacinth.

I don't usually notice continuity errors, but there were a couple I saw straight away this season, like hair in face then not, and I can imagine there's more that I didn't see, so along with the errors you mentioned, for some reason there was some lazy editing happening, I love the series but those things can just take you out of the scene

After watching season 2, I notice lady Danbury was aware of how Kate felt about Anthony since episode 4. She warned Kate about hiding how she truly felt from her sister. Danbury even tried to end the wedding on her by inviting the Sheffield's to dinner with the bridgetons. She knew it would blow up in Kate's face as it did. Lady Danbury was trying to avoid what she knew what would be a disaster because she knew what was aspiring
That's a bad plan. The queen was hosting the wedding and she asked Kate on the walk, are you a fool? That's why she told her. I know I told you to be honest and you want to have love, but girl we are past the point of no return. Put those ideas to rest and suck it up and watch your sister marry the man you love.

I think the issue with the filming for Kate and Anthony is likely COVID-19 related. I believe I read somewhere that they had to halt filming two times because of COVID-19. So timing-wise, they could have been behind schedule or had to use the footage they had for the intimate scenes because they couldn't afford to get more.
That sounds very plausible! Unfortunate situation all around but I would rather they do whatever is necessary to keep the cast and crew safe. No matter how much we love watching these stories it shouldn't be at the cost of endangering anyone's lives. If things are safer during production for season 3, perhaps it will show in the final result. 😊

I agree! I am really angry about the amount of fluff/side plots in season 2. Especially because this was the best love story of the series. They had so much good source material, and blew it imo. Really disappointed, it was almost difficult to watch they get it so wrong. 😭
I really hope we see more of Theo and Eloise next season and maybe hopefully they drop the Phillip storyline and make El and Theo endgame

As a Bridgerton book reader (years ago), I have very mixed feelings about this season.☹
Of course there will never be one to one adaptation to the screen, but this time it was too much.
The Bridgerton books are romantic, light-hearted, funny, with a bit of drama here and there. 💗
Season one adaptation was fine for me, a pleasure to watch, but this one...really had a hard time.
Too many changes, sub plots, side characters, and too much drama...all in all it felt very heavy.
Sometimes I was reminded of a regency Dynasty/Dallas series!
They skipped quite a few scenes which were important for the development and relationship of Kate and Anthony.
Finally, after numerous back and forth, there was a rushed happy end that kind of left a bad taste, because of Kate's and Anthony's treatment of Edwina.
I couldn't really be happy for them.
Netflix ruined their sweet and passionate relationship.
Yes, there were things I liked...the good acting, the chemistry between Kathony, the costumes, settings, etc.
Hoping the next seasons will be more enjoyable. 🙂

100% agree Season 3 better be Benedict's or we riot! He is an adorable doofus and I thought I was immune to that as a romantic lead, but apparently NOT! His and Eloise's interactions are always the best, his and Anthony's a close second. I want to see his heart stolen, broken and mended so badly it's offensive. And Kate and Anthrony better be there to help him through it.
I noticed the similarities in the opening of the two love scenes too!! I didn't think much of it, but then in rewatching it, I was like wait!!! AND I really LOVE BENNEDICT too and really want to see him in love!! His huge smiles?! OMG

The scene where they fall into the mud also has an editing error. When Kater gets up, she doesn't have the pall mall bat in her hands. Whe she turns to take anthony's hand, the bat magically appers in her hand and still serving as a support to they get out of mud.

The only thing I'm going to say about book 3/season 3: if they do things right, it'll be epic. It is a good (underrated) story in the Fandom. I'm also interested in how they are going to fix PenEloise.

From what I've heard online, the writers aren't planning to follow book order in season 3 so we might not get Benedict's story next season. If they really decide not to follow the order of the books, I have a feeling we might see either Colin or Eloise's story instead, but with Benedict's story's prologue thrown in as a subplot which would fit the timeline better I think.
If they're going to make me wait extra years to see my boy get his love story they had better AT THE VERY LEAST announce the casting for his love interest because I want to at least be nosey about that one detail (I'm avoiding the book because I want to know as few spoilers as possible before watching the season; I can read the book after I've watched the episodes to compare/contrast the adaptation with the source material). 😆

Apparently they spent 2 days filming the gazebo scene in episode 7 and cut out a lot -- so not lack of material, just a bit of lazy editing maybe. More the pity-- 100% approve of releasing that extra footage.
I had many issues with this Season´s editing. I got distracted by how much they just pasted clips instead of going for longer takes.
Example: E1--> starting with 37:20, there is just a sense of pasted clips from different shootings. So she hears everything and then bumps into something, and then when she starts to walk again, it is all disconnected. And then they have wide shots and close shots which do not seem to match. I am not a technical person, I do not know how difficult this is, but my mind just tried to understand how far apart the actually were throughout this scene, when they start fighting, it ranges from 2m to 1m. He is saying "you" whilst he is walking but slowing the pace, and then in "I never got your name", it is a different angle and he goes faster. "You were ears dropping", it seems they are 1 m apart, "it was hardly an effort", again it goes to 2m. I am exaggerating a bit, but I do feel this should not have been that difficult to even out.
E3 throughout the entire dinner Sharma's and Bridgerton. It was so easy to see that this was shot with different groups. I understand this was done like this due to Covid restrictions and the casting agenda's, ok, it makes sense. But in most of Daphne's shots, she is 100% alone, same for many of them. When you get the full room view they are all mere 20 cm apart from one another.
E1 I was not a fan of the whole horse race (1st meeting) final result. It felt low budgeted.
E8, love declaration. Again it felt funny that they had to use so many ensembled clips instead of a longer shot.
E7, the sex scene. I do not know where to begin with. I did not like how this was edited.
Hopefully things are in a better place when shooting season 3 so that it's safe enough for actors to interact more with each other, on top of the world just needing to be safer in general. 🥲

Starts when Penelope and Colin finish their dance. They are dancing together and there is a frame with eligible bachelors. Stick to 2: 1 with light brown hair (Lord Fife) and a dark haired (let us call him "Tom").
Next you have the Sharmas. Here it is not very clear but just behind, Lord Fife is drinking behind Edwina and a "Tom" is behind Kate. Up to here, it is fine, they may have moved about.
But...
Next clip, Anthony is talking to Lord Fife again, who no longer has the drink. And we see "Tom" in the background.
Next clip as Anthony looks at the Sharmas, the Sharmas have again the same guys, this time behind Edwina.
Why have I noticed? Basically both Lord Fife and Tom are very attractive. If you are playing this game, chose dull people...
Next clip as the camera moves, we can actually see at the end of the room, Mama Sharma talking to Anthony. Some secs later...
Anthony all alone.
And next we switch to Sharma sisters again. And we see Anthony yet again with Mama Sharma, walking towards Kate.
I cannot imagine how difficult filming a ball scene may have been with all the restrictions. Like really tough. But that was hilarious!
Yes, I totally agree with you. There was too much scenes about the Featherington and the cousin Jack. I just skipped most of their scenes, if not almost all of their scenes 😢
I truly like and appreciate the featheringtons and their sub plot. The more i think about the possibilities for the Sharma's history in India, I think it stokes some possible parallels about what it would be like to have it all, and suddenly lose it, just like the Sharma's did. We were viewing the aftermath of the Sharma's loss, at the same time, witnessing the Featheringtons almost lose everything. Watching Lady Featherington fight to save her girls was similar and powerful as watching Anthony and Kate fight for their families. Lady Featherington has a different way of expressing her love for her girls, and clearly has her own relationship battles to deal with. I like Jack's tie to the America's, it took my mind to realizing what was happening in America at the time, after the American Revolution war with King George III, Charlotte's husband! Which I then immediatly started to think that England was similarly involved in wars with India at the same time. My mind is blowing right now, from the endless story line possibilities about the Sharma's in India. All thanks to the Featheringtons! I feel like we could be watching new Bridgerton episodes for the next 10 years. 😊

Not to give out spoilers but as someone who's read the books, honestly the timing is a little off because in the books Penelope runs the whole Whistledown business for 10 years so her reveal makes a bigger impact plus in the books Eloise doesn't really care much abt Penelope being Whistledown and also congratulates her for fooling the ton for so long so I'm curious on the route they're gonna take in the series. Also my man Benedict was done dirty. Colin is still very baby-faced and still not at the level of maturity he needs to attain which we see in S1 where Anthony and Benedict mention not having taken him to enough brothels or wtv so the 10 years time lapse gives him the time to emotionally mature as well and of course in that window of time is where Benedict's story fits in.

And CVD said that 'they would touch on Benedict's sexuality' in s3. But since he gets together with Sophie (who has yet to appear but her raging fans have really made me despise her) wtf does that mean? I enjoyed watching the featheringtons, the first go around but now having literally just rewatched it like 6x and on going, I just fast forward through anything that's not kanthony. I wish we had more of them in their deep conversations and really getting to know each other TO each other, rather than us learning it, but seeing them learn it within eachother. I would love to see edwina and friedrich, I think there personalities mend together so much better, it'd be nice to see them flirting and Edwina truly feeling love. I agree, all that work for edwina to choose for love and she didn't really love the viscount anyway, she truly fit better with Lord Lumley. 🤣

The Featherington Subplot was unbearable. When I watched it the first time, I let them play most of it until the last 2 or 3 episodes. But through the rewatch I had to fast forward anytime they came on screen. They really could have been drastically reduced. The should have cut the perspective Jack and Mrs. Featherington completely out and have us learn about their mess through Will, Colin, and Penelope (since Penelope was barely even apart of the featherington subplot).
Yes the fight between Eloise and Penelope was GOOD. I'm sorry Penelope gagged her a little bit. Because I ain't forget that she was a Whistledown stan in season 1. Going on and on about how Whistledown was leading the life she wanted, and how she is always going on about shaking tables. But where's the resume, sis? Two seasons of talking and what do you have to show for it? Still Team Eloise, but you got got. 🤷🏿♀
Okay!!! I thought it looked the same as well. But I didn't do a deep dive. Not really sure why we are recycling footage. They deserve better than that. My Kate and Anthony thoughts (I have sooo many. I literally took notes because I knew that you were going to do multiple videos and I wanted to make sure that I was ready) will be reserved for your Kate and Anthony video. Since this video is about miscellaneous points. I just want to say that they better get their own subplot for season 3 especially since we had to suffer through the Featheringtons. In the show it was mentioned a couple times that Anthony's wife (Kathani) is supposed to take over Violet's role. That fact is the only reason why I didn't cuss the writers out for over that 2 minute epilogue. They are literally head of the household so they gots to be there in the mix.
Edwina better be back in season 3, and yes to the romance with the prince or a prince if the actor is not available. I am sure the Queen has many royals as family. So let's wake that up. I have notes on Edwina but since you really didn't talk about her here I will wait for when you do.

I am not reading the books as well. I only read book 2 prior to this season because I was excited by the trailer and the book stans were hyping the book up, and because I'm impatient and cheat all the time, I read the book. Wasn't really impressed by the book and killed any desire to read anymore of the series because if this was supposed to be the gold standard........... I mean the book is literally 20+ years old (Idk how I never came across the series until the show came out), so I am not really sure what I was expecting. I know I'm glad that they changed the plot I mean just off the strength that they didn't do the marriage to cover up a scandal storyline again (and the streets are saying this happens multiple times in the book series 🤨🤨). But I will definitely talk about the book changes in another video.
Anyway great video!! Can't wait for the next one and sorry for the essay. I can almost guarantee that this is only going to get worse from here on out tbh.

OMG!! I just figured it out! It is a mirrored image!! If u look at her nose, she has a piercing from a nose ring. Throughout the episodes, you can see it on her left side. In episode 7 only, it's to the right! So that's how I know that one is a mirrored image and the original is from episode 8! And u can tell it's the exact same image because of her hair. Nobody's messy hair falls in the exact same path twice like that! LOL

I’m not a fan of the Featheringtons either but I think I understand why they ran with that storyline as the B story. It illustrates in this society of wealth/security over love and morality.. well, when money is gone, not much is left but love. Mama F’s love for her children are all she has and she’ll do anything to secure them a future. They even threw in a line about marriage without love and how she copes. I would not have missed less Featherington drama but now in retrospect I understand the why. As always, I loved your take on S2. S3 will have to work real hard to top this season. I know you, like Lady Whistledown will be sharpening your knives in wait. :)

I understand the criticism of the featherington plot but apart from the Mondrichs’ and Colin’s takedown of Jack, they needed to include a plot which would restore the Featherington ladies’ wealth and allow them to remain in London and among the Ton for future seasons too

@@LadyJenevia I won't spoil anything, but I think it would be intelligent of the writers to start Benedict's love story next season by only introducing the love interest (but not having him as the main Bridgerton sibling, only as a subplot) and then have the following season be THEIR season. Because in the book there is a big gap of several years between the first and second meeting so it just makes sense (to me).
I agree with you about the Featherington subplot, I could have done without it to be honest. I actually read some comments by a few women, who said that Anthony and Kate had NO chemistry and that they slammed Simone Ashley as being wooden and that Anthony had better chemistry with season one Sienna, which is laughable. They also said that Lady Portia and Lord Jack had MORE chemistry than Anthony and Kate... DELUDED! I will say that these haters of tv Anthony and Kate were of a certain demographic, which is really sad and pathetic.
