A new photoshoot of Luke and Yerin has been released with interviews offering an insight into Bridgerton Season 4, PLUS the casting announcement of Katie Leung as Lady Araminta Gun, Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li, and Isabella Wei as Posy Li!

I was excited to hear you talking about Shōgun. It was amazing. I have been a fan of the original and was excited to see the update. I was stunned by how good this series was... I found a hack if you don't know who everyone is... I put on the audio description. I'd never used it before. It doesn't stop the Japanese language of the characters, but it does explain who everyone is. So it will say like so-and-so's mother walks in... And I'm like...Oh! that's who that is! (I am not insinuating that everyone looks alike --I'm saying there are a LOT of characters and I couldn't keep track of everybody at first, & when they change cities. It's kind of like Game of Thrones.)
I hope you enjoy & do a video. It's very well done.
Having a young stepmother actually makes sense for back then since gross old lords married young 'fertile' ladies, such was the case with Lady Danbury and her husband. Plus, it might add a whole layer of other drama, the fact that they're so close in age.

Yeah, this is the guy who created a SciFi series in which China was the dominant culture and had badly spoken Chinese phrases occasionally spoken, yet had no Chinese or Asian actors, including the actors playing characters named !!!!!TAM!!!!
Small quibble, but that song was actually written by Joss Whedon’s brother, Jed, and Jed’s wife Maurissa Tancheroen, who is of Thai descent. Maurissa also sang the song (and as the song says, demo’ed the part of Penny in Dr. Horrible).

I’m truly just here a bask in the Asian joy that is this coming season. It makes me so incredibly happy and I can’t wait till we get season 5 (god willing) and all the black queer girlies will get our chance to scream, giggle, and lose our minds over Michaela. For all its flaws bridgerton has brought a lot of joy to people of color and it will always be dear to my heart because of that.
Randomly popping in the comments to say I paused this video because I was cooking & my Da(74) came in & I didn't want to disturb him with sound. He says "Oh, why'd you pause it? I like her. She's the one with the posters behind her, right?"(he couldn't see my phone) My da then proceeded to putter about the kitchen while humming in agreement every once in a while to your commentary. 😊 he also doesn't watch Bridgerton at all, which makes this even better. 😂
i’m cautiously excited for this storyline. i like when we can see potential chemistry between the main leads.
another show with amazing chemistry between the two leads is interview with the vampire - it was just released on netflix from amc. there are two seasons and the third is just starting production. it’s a gothic drama based on the anne rice novels - you might like it.

So excited for not only Yerin but we now have 4 incredible east asian actresses in main roles in S4, I am sat and excited. Also everyone freaking about a love triangle because roasmund will likely make a play for Benedict, I'm here for all the ways he politely avoids her, Luke is great at comedy and there is a fabulous comedy element they can play into.
Have to say I'm shocked by how young Katie is for playing the step mother but will be interesting to see if they dress and style her so she appears older. Hannah New who played the widow I think was only 38 during filming so again actually not that old. I'm more thinking they've got a fabulous actress and I'm excited for her to be known for something other than HP film.
With the whole casting list, it didn't make sense and felt like an after thought thrown in there. Also as others have pointed out, it was written and posted by the same person who did the one for S3 that also missed off Simone, when we all know she was back. So have we got a bad apple with repeat offenses. I don't want to believe Jonathan Bailey would return without a guarantee of at least one scene with his viscountess and while they can reduce the need for her by having violet in number 5 like in the book, I need the viscountess round for tea bringing the next viscount to see his grandmother Violet where she's asked sophie to join them for tea. This is a non negotiable for me.
Final point I have been giggling and kicking my feet since the Luke and Yerin photos dropped. They look fabulous together and the interview snippets mean we finally have someone who may be even more articulate than Luke when discussing characters. Oooooh these 2 will be incredible come press time. I hope they have a wonderful time filming together as they already seem to be a great match for a working partnership

Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken were each other's reasonable doubt in the murder of Natalie Wood. One or both of them knows but they got off bc of fame and the reasonable doubt problem and Mark Wahlberg committed a violent hate crime....

You should definitely watch Shogun. Be aware that there is a horrific thing in the first episode with a death, but you’ll know what it is as soon as you see it.
Shogun is really a self contained serial that they are looking at extending, but if they don’t, that season ends perfectly so while there is potential for more, it has a very satisfying ending.
I would watch Hiroyuki Sanada, and now Cosmo Jarvis fold laundry. Jarvis’s voice in this series is a character all of its own!
Anna Sawai’s character is so compelling. Moeka Hoshi, Tadanobu Asano and Nestor Carbonell are all stand outs.
It’s a brutal show at times, but it goes out of its way to show the beauty of Japanese society, the restrictions of Confucianism and Shintoism during this time, the need for change that brought about the end of the Sengoku period.
It also shows how the assumption of western superiority met the reality of Japanese society at the time.
Honestly, it’s absolutely worth watching now as a single series. Think of it more as a serial.
I have no idea why Simone Ashley is confirmed. Sophie is going to literally work in her house!! Is it a money thing? It’s probably a money thing. Netflix, please pay her whatever she wants. Like whatever she’s asking is probably not even enough!
I have no idea the reason but I hope she’s in season 4 because there are too many names being confirmed that mean NOTHING to me when all I want is Sophie, the Bridgerton’s, and Sophie’s step-family first and foremost.

Just so much VIBING and being loving and mushy with each other. Whether it's a romantic pairing or a found-family type of thing, it's just all about LOVE. 🥹

I think many people dislike the idea of a „love triangle“ between Benedict and Sophie and Rosamundd is bc it’s SO OVERDONE and they did it every season although most of the time there wasn’t one in the books. It’s so overdone

I think that could be the Asian thing happening. I'm Asian, and people think I'm 10 years younger than I am.
Technically, Katie is 37, so she could have an 18yo debutante. The math is mathing in that respect.

What I loved about this interview Yerin and Luke did is show how thoughtful they both are about their characters. Luke always puts so much into his character analysis and I was overjoyed to hear Yerins thoughts! They are gonna rule the press tour ❤

I’m so excited for the songs next season. Even though I’m not a fan of Taylor, I think her song Enchanted would be perfect for their meet cute and first dance. Also if we’re also going down the Korean music route, I would cry if they put Only by Lee Hi in the season. I feel like the song would do a good job describing their feelings for one another 😭
okay, I got obsessed with s3 in a way I know you never did, and it’s partly because representation matters and I saw a little of my curvy self in Penelope. I’ve been vicariously enjoying your enjoyment of your capybara and an East Asian leading lady coming up for this season… but without fully participating. But Ha is so thoughtful, so offbeat, and dare I say nerdy. I am back IN this! I’m so interested to see the character she brings to life. And I know what you’re saying about parasocial relationships and how we don’t know these performers, and it’s true, but with Luke Thompson I just like what I’m seeing (long may that continue). lol, I’m only 2/3 done watching

I wanted to love season 3 (especially after two years of waiting) but I simply disagreed with a lot of the storytelling choices. I wanted more of Colin and Penelope just hanging out with each other (the lessons were cute and I wanted more of them), instead of having the looming threat of the Lady Whistledown secret hanging over their relationship for that long. 😭

The SIGH of relief I had when I found out there was a non-Cowper Araminta tho. So happy to see Katie Leung on this show. Idk if I'm reading too much into this bc Katie Leung knows Cantonese - It would be cool if Sophie's step fam were at least partially Cantonese or if the show alludes to it. Cautiously optimistic because I'm here for the Season 4 ladies but also I know people had issues with how season 2 handled diff regional cultures from India for the Sharmas. Fingers crossed, y'all.

Also, Katie was amazing in The Wheel of Time, and I'd love some coverage on that (S3 is in post production right now, and so far seasons have gotten renewed before they air (2 was greenlit before 1, 3 was greenlit before 2 aired) and there's a lot to unpack.

I’m kinda curious about how they are going to handle the Sterlings and Eloise being in Scotland and everything happening with the ton in England? Are they gonna cut between locations back and forth? Are they gonna visit? I just don’t want too much screen and plot time taken away from the main couple like last season.

I'm already excited for S4! The hate Charithra Chandran made me so MAD, I really hope the actresses for Sophie's step-family won't get the same treatment, so matter how evil their characters are. But... fandoms being what they are... well.

It's actually from BH Cosmetics' "Take Me Back to Brazil" pressed pigment palettes which I don't particularly recommend because a lot of the pink(ish) shades stain the eyelid. I only use it because I still have it and I don't want to accumulate TOO many palettes at once. I've considered trying something from Juvia's Place to put more pinks back into what I have once I use up the shades in the BH Cosmetics one.

With eyeshadows I only JUST bought some new ones this summer because eyeshadows last FAR longer than people assume. I’m always shocked when I see people on RUclips with dozens or even hundreds of eyeshadow palettes. Usage can vary depending on which palette you buy and how often you wear it but ultimately one eyeshadow palette really can last YEARS. 😂
I’ve had THREE palettes as my collection for a while and I only JUST bought two small (9-pan in each) palettes this summer that were on sale.

Cover the actors face and remind us of your thought on hero worship of actors. One, I look forward to the reference, and two, I think it’s important to remind people the actors are not the characters they play. Actors do not deserve vile remarks about their character’s action, or admiration for their character’s heroic feats.

I'm happy you ask about using a photo showing a person that might evoke bad feelings. Personally, I'd rather not see it based on how described this person, even if they won't benefit from it. Could you recreate the photos or maybe use drawings instead? Or go without visuals? I'd like to see your video and would love to hear your ideas. You asking, though, makes me feel like you might not be super comfortable with it yourself. Anyways, I trust your judgement on that and might just end up sitting this one out. 💜

If so, I would love the reference bc is one of my favorite movies(and the couple is cuuuuute), although please cover his face because YIKES... so disappointing... like I know the chances of getting a sequel for that movie were low but after he got exposed...yeah the franchise is very much dead.

So, if we went by the actresses' actual ages, Katie is 37 and Isabella, who plays Posy is 20. So Katie could plausibly be their mum. And I agree with another commenter here that it was absolutely normal for creepy gross old men to have much younger fertile wives, so a small age gap between Araminta and Sophie is also plausible. Lady Danbury is a classic example of the gross age gap and Cressida almost suffered the same fate with Lord Greer.
