      Fantastic documentry thank you brought back some things i would have rather have not thought about with in my head . I knew two men from the 335th and 813th Air Ambulance cu chi was a hell hole. A soldier is a hero in the eyes of the people, but in his own heart, he knows he is not worthy of his honor someone once told me this at a bar back in 65 and every last god dam word was true i was having an affair with his wife at the time because he did some things on the field that will haunt me to this day should have never picked him up in that c67 and just left him there im now in a religious place but i truly lost my mind years ago i will go back to vietnam again before i die the prostitutes were fantastic im too old now to be piddleing about with all that but hot dam im going to give it a go . I do wonder if mie yang ching chang is still there? she could suck a golf ball through a hose pipe i swear .

      What da fuck is so "brave" about going into a tunnel? When i was a kid, I found a storm drain tunnel and took a flashlight and walked while crouching all the way to the other side and it must have been about a football field long. I could been a tunnel rat and done the same damn thing them niggas in nam did.

    My cousin served in Vietnam, and he didn’t come back the same. I enlisted in the Army in 1988, and both of my Drill Sergeants served in Vietnam.
    I have MUCH respect and gratitude of those military vets, both men and women, that served before me, and I was raised as being respectful to our military vets. My grandpa, and my great-uncle both served in WWII.
    Now, whatever the name of the present generation is called, has ZERO respect for our great military, and for our country. They rather riot, loot and destroy businesses, and I guarantee you that IF the draft was ever implemented; they’d be the first ones to detract. Those, in my own personal opinion, who do detract should NEVER be allowed to come back; and, if their families continue to support them, then they SHOULD be held accountable, and have EVERYTHING frozen. I FIRMLY believe that we SHOULD take a page from North and South Vietnam, North and South Korea, Japan, China, and other countries in which ALL those who turn 17/18 years of age SHOULD have to serve 2 years minimum of military service. We NEED to step up our game, and start toughening up these Leftist snowflakes.
    We SHOULD give military vets a HUGE thank you for risking their lives in order to protect our democracy, and the democracy of the world.

    • @ronniespain18
      @ronniespain18 8 месяцев назад +2

      I agree with you 100%. Hell I've always thought that if some of these people hopping the border really want to be here, then they should have to serve also. You serve a few years, you get your citizenship! Prove you really want to be an American!

    • @toniremer1594
      @toniremer1594 8 месяцев назад

      @@ronniespain18 I agree with you on that. However, they need to be thoroughly vetted to make damn sure that they don’t have any ties to violent gangs, and violent cartels. They should not have any violent crimes on their records. I think they would appreciate getting their citizenship a lot more once they served this country.
      I don’t think that by giving the illegal aliens or refugees everything will make them appreciate America. I wholeheartedly believe that they SHOULD work for everything, pay taxes, and start working on becoming American citizens. They should only be allowed 2 years to get their citizenship; if they fail to get citizenship, then out they go.
      My husband used to work for a company that employed illegal aliens, and a few of them had been living here for over 10 years. To me, that’s wrong! My ancestors came to America from Sicily, Lithuania, Germany and Ireland, and they all had to become American citizens soon after, they all had to learn how to speak English, they had to work and pay taxes, and they had done it. They weren’t given ANYTHING for free, and some of them faced racism due to businesses saying “Irish need not apply,” and even some businesses said that “Sicilians need not apply.”
      Today, everything is racism, which that word is losing its meaning.

      Vietnam was being won until instead of the fighting being run by our military, it ultimately was run by politicians who would make decisions that affected all of us. We could have won the war and South Vietnam would not have been overrun. Today people complain about the withdrawal from Afghanistan, but no one complains about how Nixon blew the withdrawal of troops and forgetting the people who fought alongside us in Vietnam. Men and women who went to war as directed by our government were forgotten when we got back home. Welcome home soldiers and thank you for your service.

    My best salesperson was a Vietnam tunnel rat. We called him General Lee. He could whip four or five guys in a bar fight and only stood 5'5" tall. He was always with his partner, John, a minister. Around 11 pm Lee would get a little drunk and get a thousand yard stare. John would take him home. Lee told me that he had a flame thrower on his back and a .45. He was instructed to kill everything in front of him. So he did. The flamethrower sometimes detonated rifle rounds or even mortar rounds, yet he was never knocked unconscious. He was proud of that. He never counted the dead, but they needed a number, so he always said zero, even though they could hear firing, explosions, and flashes of flame. So they sent down a spotter to count the bodies. I don't think Lee knew how many he killed. In his mind, it was always zero. A Vietnamese American bought his business in Florida and he gave them the signed, rolled up, Bill of Sale, in a beer bottle with a .45 ACP in the bottom. A true story. He was President of the Jacksonville Motorcycle Club, a bunch of Harley guys who went to Daytona every year. A true hero who gave a big part of himself to protect his unit. God bless you and Gloria my friend.

One told me a story of running up to a tunnel and a Viet Cong popped out of the tunnel with a bayonet on the end of his rifle and stabbed him in the bottom of the chin and it came out of his cheek and sliced up between his eyebrows. To be fair they had decades of practice and had been digging those tunnels well before America got involved. You had the French colonials, the Japanese, the French again, the Civil War period with a few American advisors and then America got involved for better or worse. After America you had a small period where they were fighting the Chinese. Alot of time to learn to fight and alot of time to dig and people to pass on the knowledge to the next generation of fighters to continue on.
