- This segment from the February 26, 1988, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Roger Sockman’s report on the scandal involving the Reverend Jimmy Swaggart of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge and allegations of misconduct involving a prostitute in New Orleans. His report includes: highlights of Swaggart apologizing for his sin during his Sunday service; Superintendent Cecil Janway of the Louisiana District Council of the Assemblies of God announcing Swaggart’s punishment; and an interview with Dr. John Carroll, a religion professor at LSU. Sockman also travels to Ferriday, Swaggart’s hometown, and interviews: Reverend W.L. Swaggart, his father; Doris Poole, his former classmate; Frankie Jean Terrell, his cousin and sister of Jerry Lee Lewis; and Ferriday Mayor Sammy Davis, Jr. Host: Ken Lormand

Bro. Swaggart fell from the grace of God, he committed adultery like the prophet David, the good choice he made was to confess his sin and repented of it. Just because he's a preacher doesn't mean that he's perfect, it proves that he's human; and gave into his temptation. God has forgiven him, now he has to move forward and keep his eyes on the Lord, stay focused and serve God 🙏🏻 God be with him.

Jimmy Swaggart is a great TV evangelist. He preaches every day yet, and he is almost 90 years old. He and his pastors preach about saving your souls and guiding you to the message of the Cross. He could retire but he doesn't because he wants to help people. So what have you done for your brothers and sisters?? God Bless Jimmmy Swaggart for saving me in December 2022.

It's amazing how getting caught can bring a man to allegedly repent. I watched Swaggart back in the 80s until this happened. To this day, I refuse to believe anything he has to say. In fact, I haven't even listened to one of his sermons since his self-induced downfall.
If you cant forgive someone that even does you wrong God wont forgive you either. Are you a Christian. If so have you sinned sense you been a Christian? If so then does that mean you should never talk to people about God anymore because you sinned. Should Christians ignore you because you have sinned.? If you no they shouldnt. then what are you doing ignoring jimmy? Nobody is any better than Jimmy.

If your financial investor stole all of your money, you might forgive him. But, you certainly wouldn't trust him with another dime, would you? If so, the investor is no longer the fool.
