  • 👉 Learn how to graph piecewise functions. A piecewise function is a function that has more than one sub-functions for different sub-intervals(sub-domains) of the function's domain. To graph a piecewise function, we graph the different sub-functions for the different sub-intervals of the function's domain.

if we are graphing inequalities then you would be correct. However we are graphing equations so we will always have solid lines. However, the symbols determine if the when we graph our given equations or functions and if at that point it is included(shaded) or not included(open). Did this make sense?

slope is your coefficient of x so it is 2. However to graph using slope it is helpful to write it as a ratio. The change in y over x. However 2 is not written as a ratio. We can rewrite 2 as 2/1 and not change the value of the number as 2/1=2. Writing it this way allows us to have a slope in ratio form. did this help?

well first graph the function f(x) = x You can use a table or graphing calculator if you don't know how to graph it. Then the inequality x>2 meaning that the function is only true for values of x greater than two. So at two you will have an open circle and the rest of the graph for values less than two you will erase.
