Damn, that's a perspective to think about. Momonga, I usually thought of him as a more contemporary lazy neet, but he was living in a dystopian world where neets would just die. He's not just escaping our current shitty reality, he's escaping an absolutely broken, ugly, and dying world. Actually it’s not true I recently read the first novel. He mentions that he would be looking for a way home if he had any family friends a lover. But he doesn’t all he had was a stressful job and the guild. I don’t think it was an dystopian because the LN I read said it took place in 2038
I hardly see anyone seriously think about and work to go home in these isekai novels/novels tho. Some of them don't ever waste time even remembering it😂

The reason we have a lot of isekai/tensei anime is because there's a lot of people who want to escape this world and never look back. The ones where going home is a major motivator, like Arifureta or SAO for example, the theme is more 'this isn't the world I belong in.' Same message, but the nuance is changed a bit.

As for the bits about Tuare, those facts were already confirmed before her sister’s death considering that e-rantel was already a shit noble infested country. The theories about what solution did to heal Tuare, honestly wouldn’t be so bad considering Tiara’s condition being so bad that would’ve likely led to stillbirth. Especially since she didn’t mention any other pulse during the examination.

It's actually interesting, the scene at the beginning where Momonga is flying and staring out at the stars. He had never actually seen stars before. His world is so destroyed he couldn't even see the sky. That's why he was so moved, and why he's so intent on building this new world into a utopia. Well that and protecting nazarick, the place he and his friends built together
Of course, there is also more to it than him just being desensiticed both personally and through the mental inhibitors. In the game, Momonga was the master strategist of Ains Ooal Gown, which in and of itself was one of the most hardcore guilds in the game. Several of the artifacts in Nazarick were rewards for them having cleared that high-level dungeon on the first try. And doing so by beating all the dungeon's bosses at the same time for an extra reward, if I remember correctly. Rest assured, he was cut out for the leadership role in more ways than one.
Overlord is interesting in a way that it portrays Ainz is OP but in reality is just a catious person+experience and items from yggdrassil. Imo its so sad if it ends in few more volumes since I love the way Maruyama sets up things from behind the scenes. You know, the enemies are gonna get wreck route but the interesting question is by the big reveal of "by the unexpected how".
Also if you play a game long enough, eventually you'll reach a level where weaker people and lower level being couldn't do anything to you. That's just frikin P2W videogame logic.

Well now I understand why Momonga wasn't so keen on going back to his homeworld. Still, I think there's a discrepancy here since if it was common to die of overworking then that would imply the work hours were sometimes well over 12h a day and, in some cases, doing 24h shifts were almost regular. Which leaves very little time to play a DMMO game where you achieve the title of World Champion and squeeze it dry of all content. Unless it actually took Momonga 20 years (from launch day to end of service) to slowly build up his character.

I am a huge fan of Overlord series. In my opinion, the world of Overlord is not even close to the ending, we havent even seen all the races and spieces, not even the elves, we know almost nothing about former players, or their connectiong, we didnt see new player to the game, or former guildmate of Aint, or his nemesis, this anime world has so much potential, it can literally achieve (atleast) 8 series totally, with proper ending. If Author want to end it just like that (18th Volume), without expanding the borders of this amazing fantasy world, he dissapointed me completely. Give the whole Overlord material to someone competent, and he can play with anything he has in mind, it can literally become one of the biggest fantasy anime worlds in history. (It probably is already, but u know what I mean). P.S.: My knowledge is based purely on anime and some fandom wiki. Dont judge my opinion, if u have red manga or light novel. Sorry. I mean, you're not wrong, but like some of your points are because the anime just isn't there yet. The novels are slated to end at 18, the anime is currently between 12-14 (with a movie mixed in) and actually as I'm writing this it might not even be vol 14. So there is still quite a lot to go
Well, yeah it wasn't even close to an end, the author had the content for like 30 vols or so (as he claimed). It was changed to end at vol 18 because the author is burned out.
I love the world of overlord to vary much. I read through to volume 17 and unfortunately if he's truly ending it at volume 18 witch is likely given how 17 ends we are going to left with many unresolved plot points and questions about the world/characters and set ups made in previous volumes.
A scene that was cut from when they went to the baths, albedo had been release from confinement for trying to rape him, chased him down and tried to get him in the baths with her, he is saved by the other gaurdians and ainz says that maybe a relationship could happen with them, but he will not and can not have one while nazaricks situation in the world is unsteady
They might fight. Ainz had her create a group to look for his friends, but Albedo actually made a hit squad to kill them. Jealousy because of how her programming was altered.
Yeah but can't blame the author he's been work on overlord for a whole decade and he's highly likely getting underpaid for his work. Anyone can lose a passion on something if there not getting paid enough to do it. The onlything we can hope is that not a completely rushed ending.

Its a shame all that was cut from the anime. The LN is about conveying that slow but steady descent from Ainz as he loses touch with his humanity, or even caring to find his past guild members all while enacting great horrors. Meanwhile, the anime focused more on just the battles as if the vieuwers have the attentionspan of 10 year olds.
If they do that they will have to change the rating to R18 and honestly some of the viewers wouldn't be able to watch them because these content will seriously mess with your head

While I do like these videos, the two-part cards should either be double wide to accommodate the text or separated into 2 cards. Flashing the text halfway just isn't efficient, even with pausing.

It may come one day, but what everyone doesn't seem to realize is that the world comes in cycles. Good times... bad times... Times may come like George Orwell's 1984 or the world of overlord 2138 that think they can freeze time in the cycle that they benefit but the cycle is controlled by forces greater than any of them realize. Good times are followed by bad times are followed by good times. So shall the world go until it is no more.
In the web novel arche wasn't killed but instead kept by shalltear as essentially and pet and used her as a sex toy (in a general sense, there's more to it)

This show is considered Disturbing but I think it’s gratifying seeing the Wrongdoers getting no mercy it’s sates my hunger to inflict pain on those who do it to others for no reason. I do it because I don’t get off on it, I ENJOY it!
especially for Overlords. only about 30% of LNs are adapted into anime, this is far less than tensura, mushoku tensei, konosuba and many other popular isekai novels which on average have loaded above 60% for adaptation. but as an overlord reader I'm still happy because one of my favorite novels can be adapted up to season 4
So this series is going to end and we might never see Ainz even remotely pushed to the limit in a fight. Hopefully a Dragon Lord or somebody can breathe on him at least once before the end otherwise this show will go down as a massive disappointment to me.

I read volume 17 and it's looking like like he'll end it with volume 18. Unfortunately it's going to be rushed to given how little was actually resolved in volume 17 so he'll have to rush through things to resolve the most important plot points for the series. Most he could do is stretch it out one or two more volumes given the corner he has written himself into. Unfortunately it's looking like many stories/plot points/characters/ and questions are going to left unsolved.

It's actually interesting, the scene at the beginning where Momonga is flying and staring out at the stars. He had never actually seen stars before. His world is so destroyed he couldn't even see the sky. That's why he was so moved, and why he's so intent on building this new world into a utopia. Well that and protecting nazarick, the place he and his friends built together
Of course, there is also more to it than him just being desensiticed both personally and through the mental inhibitors. In the game, Momonga was the master strategist of Ains Ooal Gown, which in and of itself was one of the most hardcore guilds in the game. Several of the artifacts in Nazarick were rewards for them having cleared that high-level dungeon on the first try. And doing so by beating all the dungeon's bosses at the same time for an extra reward, if I remember correctly.
Rest assured, he was cut out for the leadership role in more ways than one.
Overlord is interesting in a way that it portrays Ainz is OP but in reality is just a catious person+experience and items from yggdrassil. Imo its so sad if it ends in few more volumes since I love the way Maruyama sets up things from behind the scenes. You know, the enemies are gonna get wreck route but the interesting question is by the big reveal of "by the unexpected how".
And being lvl 100.
He could be naked and sleeping, and still 99% of new world could not kill him.
Also if you play a game long enough, eventually you'll reach a level where weaker people and lower level being couldn't do anything to you.

He actually worked hard to get that power and not the typical "I got reborn and was gifted a powerful ability/item etc". He actually spent many of his hours gaining and strengthening his character while also working as a salary man in the real world to have money to buy food and pay for electricity to continue playing his VR set. His power is his and wasn't given to him, it was earned.

Still, I think there's a discrepancy here since if it was common to die of overworking then that would imply the work hours were sometimes well over 12h a day and, in some cases, doing 24h shifts were almost regular. Which leaves very little time to play a DMMO game where you achieve the title of World Champion and squeeze it dry of all content. Unless it actually took Momonga 20 years (from launch day to end of service) to slowly build up his character.

I am a huge fan of Overlord series. In my opinion, the world of Overlord is not even close to the ending, we havent even seen all the races and spieces, not even the elves, we know almost nothing about former players, or their connectiong, we didnt see new player to the game, or former guildmate of Aint, or his nemesis, this anime world has so much potential, it can literally achieve (atleast) 8 series totally, with proper ending. If Author want to end it just like that (18th Volume), without expanding the borders of this amazing fantasy world, he dissapointed me completely.
Give the whole Overlord material to someone competent, and he can play with anything he has in mind, it can literally become one of the biggest fantasy anime worlds in history. (It probably is already, but u know what I mean). P.S.: My knowledge is based purely on anime and some fandom wiki. Dont judge my opinion, if u have red manga or light novel. Sorry. Maybe I will buy the Overlord manga some day, but until then, my comment will stay unchanged. Glory to the GreatTomb of Nazarick!!!
I mean, you're not wrong, but like some of your points are because the anime just isn't there yet. The novels are slated to end at 18, the anime is currently between 12-14 (with a movie mixed in) and actually as I'm writing this it might not even be vol 14. So there is still quite a lot to go
Well, yeah it wasn't even close to an end, the author had the content for like 30 vols or so (as he claimed). It was changed to end at vol 18 because the author is burned out.
I love the world of overlord to vary much. I read through to volume 17 and unfortunately if he's truly ending it at volume 18 witch is likely given how 17 ends we are going to left with many unresolved plot points and questions about the world/characters and set ups made in previous volumes.
That last fact is definitely the most disturbing, dark and sad of them all..

The LN is about conveying that slow but steady descent from Ainz as he loses touch with his humanity, or even caring to find his past guild members all while enacting great horrors.

While I do like these videos, the two-part cards should either be double wide to accommodate the text or separated into 2 cards. Flashing the text halfway just isn't efficient, even with pausing.
I get your point, however, I think that stretching the cards will make them less visually appealing and also make it take longer for them to be revealed, which will negatively affect the viewer's experience.

am gonna guess that alot or all these facts came from the LN, adaptions usually leave out alot of contents.
especially for Overlords. only about 30% of LNs are adapted into anime, this is far less than tensura, mushoku tensei, konosuba and many other popular isekai novels which on average have loaded above 60% for adaptation. but as an overlord reader I'm still happy because one of my favorite novels can be adapted up to season 4

So this series is going to end and we might never see Ainz even remotely pushed to the limit in a fight. Hopefully a Dragon Lord or somebody can breathe on him at least once before the end otherwise this show will go down as a massive disappointment to me.

I read volume 17 and it's looking like like he'll end it with volume 18. Unfortunately it's going to be rushed to given how little was actually resolved in volume 17 so he'll have to rush through things to resolve the most important plot points for the series. Most he could do is stretch it out one or two more volumes given the corner he has written himself into. Unfortunately it's looking like many stories/plot points/characters/ and questions are going to left unsolved.
